C# - Create RDLC Report In Visual Studio 2010 With Group
Jun 11, 2012
I want to design RDLC report via visual studio 2010, it is big different with visual studio 2008. Please guide me create RDLC report in visual studio 2010. I have a Class table combine with table Student with 1...* relationship in database. I will fill this data into report which one each row of Class table is row group and multiple students below. Example: [URL]
I have a parent and child report that I created in visual studio 2010 using winforms in vb.net. I have setup one text box in the parent report to go to the child report with the respective value as the paramter. However, when I click on the link I get the error:a data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'dataset1'I realize that the dataset1 has to be filled, however I cannot figure out how to fill dataset1. I have researched the topic cand came with the following links:[URL]...
I want to enable a photo in the upper right section of a Windows Form, but I can't figure out the way to set a photo to visible when one of the tab pages is selected.Right now I have it set up as a visible = true when the tab page is clicked (the tab page itself not the tab button). What I want it to do is become visible when the tab button is clicked.
If this is still confusing I can expand more. Not sure what more you need.
Edit: I'm trying to do it without placing the photo within the tab page.
I've been googling around to find a way to dynamically assign a DataSet to an rdlc report but i was unable to find a clear method to do it.Does anyone know if there is a way? I end up trying to use this method because i also found no way of adding parameters to the rdlc report. The VS documentation is vague on this issue..
I have a program I am trying to create in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate, and have a few questions as to whether what I would like the program to do is even possible - Here is the idea of my program:
I have a main form with a ComboBox1, Pic1, ImageList1, and Label1 - In my ComboBox I have 118 entries, and 118 corresponding Images in the ImageList control - Right now I have it set to show the Image from the ImageList when a ComboBox1 entry is clicked, by the Index number:
If ComboBox1.SelectedIndex <> -1 Then Pic1.Image = ImageList1.Images(ComboBox1.SelectedIndex) Else Pic1.Image = Nothing End If
What I want to know is, Can I make it so I can add/update entries in the ComboBox1 and ImageList1 at runtime? Such as, have an 'Open' dialog to import the Image I want to add, and a simple InputBox to add to the Combo1 list? Also, if this IS possible, if I add Items at runtime, won't it mess up my Indexes, and then the correct Images from the ImageList1 won't be the ones that show?
I know, lot of questions, but I am trying to cleanse my mind of VB6, and focus on .NET - More complicated, but I like the appearance of the finished programs much better, without stupid additional OCX's
- I added report wizard to the solution. - Then according to instructions i added fields to report.- But how I can attach the report to the Windows form ?- In Visual Studio 2005, I used crystal report viewer to attach reports on the forms.
I have an rdlc report that always produces the last page in blank. In this page, the header and the footer are printed but no data is shown (all data finishes in the previous page). I already checked and re-checked the horizontal and vertical printable areas and all the report definitions fit into these areas (if not, a blank page will be produced in between each page, I guess). If the report has one page, two pages are printed, if there are ten pages with data, eleven pages are printed
I am using Visual Studio 2010. I can connect to my MySQL datababse no problem by clicking my login button. Now I can't figure out how to query the database and check if username and password are correct, and switch to a different form, to display the data loaded from the database. This is Login.vb Form
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Public Class Login Dim conn As MySqlConnection
When the login is completed, and username and password are correct, I want it to load Main.vb.
Will i be able to successfully install 2010 beta 2 side by side 2008? because i want to test 2010 features and some development toolkits such as silverlight while i don't want to uninstall my visual studio 2008 professional.
When I open a Crystal Report in Visual Studio I can view options for how the fields are formatted such as the date and numbers. I'm running a crystal report in a project, is it possible to edit these settings through code?
I have "Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition" and "Crystal Reports XI Developer edition".I have to integrate crystal reports in my application. I am fine developing the reports using the "Crystal Reports IDE" but not sure on how can I integrate those reports into my application.I have downloaded and installed the reportviewer control but not sure how to use it for crystal reports.
I am studying crystal report with visual studio 2008. I knew OLEDB, ADO.Net And ADO connections etc. But whatever connection that we must assign data sources. I want to non-configured and assign data sources as like data-grid. In the data-grid, we can configure data field name and generate data assignation in runtime. Can I do this for report or not. If I can this, tell me how can I do this.
I have pasted below a piece of code where I am displaying a report. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Crystal Report engine. It works all good with the piece of code
Problem: Everytime a report is being run it generates a ('.*tmp', '.*rpt') files typically in a temp folder c:windows emp however we can get rid of the *.tmp files by setting a recycle on the application pool but need a way to get rid of the .rpt files.
Found solution: Call Close() and Dispose() on the report object. The way I am doing is crReportDoc.Close() then crReportDoc.Dispose()Actual Problem: If Dispose() is called the report comes up with the following error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'
Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.
At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation. So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?
I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.
To reproduce the error I'm getting:Create a new Visual Studio 2010 ASP.NET web site in Visual Basic, targeting .NET 2.0Type "Public Property Test As String" Observe "Visual Basic 9.0 does not support auto-implemented properties." error Visual Studio 2010 is happy to use VB 10 against .NET 2.0-targeted Windows Forms applications, this only appears to be an issue with ASP.NET.Is there a way to force Visual Studio 2010 to use VB 10 when targeting .NET 2.0?
i am having a Visual Studio 2008 but it not install with crystal report when i open add new item-> its didnot contain Crystal Report how can i add crystal report and make crystal reports in visual studio 2008 how i install crystal report with visual studio 2008 only crystal reports 2008 install and its open with visual studio 2008 when we click Project->Add New Item-> and crystal reports shows in thiis file
In my report I want to display the dollar amoumt in textboxs. So I set the textbox property Format as currency. My question is that I want to reports show brackets for negative dollar values. It works out except "$" sign being showing whenever there''s an amount showing. I want to remove this "$" sign from the report.
I created a report (rdlc) based on a dataset coming from an Oracle database table. I inserted a ReportViewer into a form and associated the report with the ReportViewer. This made VB to automatically create a binding source and a table adapter. The problem is when i run the report the application hangs (with no error). Later i discovered that it is because the Oracle user password which is required for the table adapter to retrieve the data. I found this because i tried to preview the data in the table adapter and the password was required.
