C# - LINQ To SQL - Selecting A List Of The Highest Version Numbers?

I am trying to write some Linq to SQL that will bring me back a list of rows containing a single instance of BaseQuestionIDs but I want the row with the highest version, so, from the following table of data:
Id CreatedDate Version BaseQuestionID
2 2009-10-07 13:47:27.687 1 2
3 2009-10-07 13:49:35.010 1 3
4 2009-10-09 16:03:45.973 1 5
[code]...
I want to return:
Id CreatedDate Version BaseQuestionID
2 2009-10-07 13:47:27.687 1 2
3 2009-10-07 13:49:35.010 1 3
[code]...
I have tried a variety of things, but have not nailed it yet. I am working in vb.net?

I am having a datatable with following structure.
mid mname version baseID
------------------------------------
1 tag3 1 1
2 tag3 2 1
3 tag3 3 1
4 tag5 1 4
5 tag5 2 4
6 tag6 1 6
From the above structure I need a datatable similar like this. I need to take the highest version from the datatable.
mid mname version baseID
------------------------------------
3 tag3 3 1
5 tag5 2 4
6 tag6 1 6
How can I create a datatable similar like the above. I am using Vb.Net

label10 displays which is the highest number
label12 displays which is the lowest number
label14 displays which is the number that is duplicated

The application I'm doing requires me to "enter the size of an array in a TEXTBOX, then click a button, a list of random number would show up, then re-arrange from Lowest to Highest".For ex, i enter "5" in the TextBox, then an array or list of 5 random number will show up vertically on the ListBox. I already got this part done. Now the thing is, I have to make a For...Next statement to rearrange them from Lowest to Highest.

I need a way to detect which one is the largest, and which is the smallest, and assign them to a variable.If SideA is the largest, then it is variable C, and SideB is the smallest, so its variable A, leaving SideC as variable B

I am now trying to add a feature that was requested, mainly the ability to click a button or label, and have a messagebox pop up with the Vehicle with the HIGHEST total stats in the Vehicle list. What I need to know is:
1. If it's even possible to search for the highest total stat value in the Vehicle list?
2. If it IS possible, how difficult would it be?

Create a program where the user can find the highest number and the smallest number from a list of values It needs to operate as follows: Enter a value (number) in the TextBox and click on a button [Add to list]. Once this is done, the program analyzes if the number is the highest entered or the smallest. To view which is the smallest and largest, a second button [highest and lowest] will populate fields (texboxes) with highest and lowest numbers. I've attached an image of what the program should look like.

Basically what I'm trying to do is to get the program to select a text string that has 2 random numbers in it from a RichTextBox. The string it would find would be similar to this:"items_win.php?item_id=24&item_number=590576"But the bolded section changes every time the page is refreshed, so how can i find the string with the numbers every time no matter what they are?

So how would I use .next (random numbers) to randomly select something from a list of numbers but it can't repeat the number?I could do:
dim num as integer
dim r as new random
num = r.next(1,5)
if num = 1 then
elseif num = 2 then
etc.
That wouldn't work because it would repeat.If I donwload someone's game can I disect it in VS? :0 I tried going to open project, then I went to the folder and clicked open. It brought me inside of the folder so I tried to open the game but there is no form1 there. It says the games name then .exe in the explorer-like thing in the top right?Also, how would I have a value or something in a label and access it from a button.
Example:This is in a label.

Then in the button do
Label.number = 0
How would I do something like that? I want to use that a lot as I did in a different language.

I'm trying to learn the query structure. I have the following XML:

And I'm trying to delete <item> elements with a query:
Dim DeleteItems = From e In Root.Elements("list") Where e.Element("name").Value = Text
However it isn't working. I think it's trying to select tags called <item> in the file's root, however it needs to be selecting <item> tags in the <list> element - which I don't know how to do.

I have a DataTable with about 64 columns, including "UserAnswer", "CorrectAnswer", and "QID_Lookup". I am building a LINQ that will select all the rows that have a correct answer (user answer matches correct answer), but I only want to select rows that have distinct "QID_Lookup".

The problem is that the result set includes duplicate QID_Lookup values. How can I include only distinct QID_Lookup values? keep in mind that there are 64 columns, so if I can avoid it, I wouldn't want to list each column individually for selection.

What is the proper syntax for this:

I tried as "IEnumerable(Of DataRow)" but that didn't work. At runtime it said:

Is it possible to use LINQ in the express version of visual studio? I am planning on refactoring my project to use LINQ, but I am the only person in my group that has a copy of visual studio pro. Will that cause any problems if someone using the express version has to modified my code?EditI realize that the graphical tools are not available in the express version, so my question does not pertain to those. I am more interested in the actual code, which I assume will work

Say I have a listbox lb, which I initialize using:
lb.DataSource = wordList \wordList is a list of strings
lb.DataBind()
The listbox is initialized perfectly, and everything that should appear there does.
However, now I select one of items in the listbox with my mouse (coloring it dark blue, in case anyone wondered what I meant in "select"), and perform the following test:

I currently have a list of words in a text file sorted in to alphabetical order and put into lower case, but I would like to be able to also display the line numbers on which these words are associated with.. but only one instance of.
For example,
"This is a random text
file that I
have just made
up this second"

As you can see above, I would like to show that "this" for example appears on line 1 and 4. Hopefully tabbed so that it keeps a nice look to it.
