C# - Two Controls Show Before The Others

I have on a form a UserControl that I use as a Data-Entry form. I show and hide it constantly with new data. Often (not all the times) the same two memo-boxes are shown on the screen first for a second, and then the full control is visible. I found this link, I'm not sure if that's my solution, but in any case I don't know where to call it and when. EDIT: I noticed that it happens 'only' if the program is idle for a couple of minutes. I could show and hide the control 10 times one after the other no problem. but if I hide it and show it again after 2-3 minutes then I get this behavior.
I guess it has to do with the time it takes to reconnect to the MsSQL database to pull the data. But how can I tell this 2 boxes to stay invisible like there parent until the parent is ready to show?

They only show when got focus or mouse hovers over and it only shows the outline

I have an app that before it loads the form it uses Location to place the controls in the wright place.When it loads up I can see their original outline before they are displayed in their new location.So I have moved the the sub before the form load event but the result was the same.I also tried me.control.clear at the beginning of the formload.But I cant seam to find contrl property that allows to show all

I have very strange problem, here it is: I have a quite large MS Access Database (2003) containing exactly 68020 records (rows). The problem is, when i read the entire database directly toa data representation control like DataGridView or Listbox,only 66710 records are returned. The weird thing is: If i load the entire database to a in-memory datatable object, rows.count gives "correct" amount of records as expected, that is 68020What is the reason of that? Why DataGridView or other controls cannot have records more than 66710 items? Is there an internal limitation? (That's dread if there is).

The problem im having is that DotNetBar gets referenced fine and all the controls appear in the tab but when i drag one from the toolbox to the form it stays in the panel where usually the timers and other controls are..Example : Drag a ButtonX from DotNet toolbox tab and it goes to where timers and dialogs usually appear instead of on the form.The standard default controls work fine. But seeing as i already have 60-70% of my application done with DotNetBar controls, I am receiving errors like frmMain.chkboxx cannot be accessed as its private.I was working on my laptop and decided to install VS2010 to Desktop and Copy/Paste the whole project folder over and this happens (I can still open the project on the laptop fine and DoTNetBar works)[code]

I have a form-based application, that until recently displayed the controls on the form when in Design. For the last week or so, when I go to Design mode for the form, it is blank. However, the program does work correctly. And, I can see the control definitions in form.designer.vb. How can I get my form to display the controls again so I can add/move/change it going forward?

Now everybody knows that creating GUIs that have lots of repeated elements that are evenly spaced by hand is for chumps; all the cool kids use loops and add them at runtime. Given that being one of the cool kids is one of my top priorities I decided to give this a go - as my current project involves creating a grid of check boxes and then chunking them together under one event handler. In my experience - an nice effective way of dealing with grid like structures (2D arrays if you will) is to use nested loops such as:
For intY = 0 To 9
For intX = 0 To 9
Dim chk As New CheckBox

I have a couple of user controls, which I show in my main form.
So let's say here's what i want:

Right now I have to hide them one by one with hide, because I don't know what's the current displayed form.

I want to include the ability for the end user to create connections to different databases using the same (or similar) dialogs that are available at design time, such as the Connection String builder, Selection Data Source (ODBC) screen, etc. Is this something built into .NET or only available via third party/custom controls?

Which of the VB controls is best suited to show images in a strip like fashion from an Image Array?I have an Image Array. I would like to display the images in the array to the end-user in a control.The control should should apear like a scrollabel list. I guess something like silverlight does.When the user sees and selects an image he/she wants to view, it is selected by clicking on the thumbnail and appears in a picturebox.

I have found ways to launch and control a power point slide show in an exteral window, but no way to attcah it and place it on the form window.

The remarked area works fine when I'm accessing a specific table. I've successfully inserted the products_model field into the combobox too. The datagridview does show the table names in the db using the SHOW TABLES sql statment, but I'm not understanding how to get this info into the combobox instead.

I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to access the Click_event.I have a boarderles form with a panel control which has the Dock property set to fill and on the panel I have placed a Label also with the Dock property set to fill. I also have a timer running.How can I get code to execute in the Label1 click event.I've tried doing it by using the generic Click_event and also with two variations of the Click_event Handles parameters

There is newer code in a follow up post. I suggest using the code in the later post rather than the code in this one. You can still read this post though. When designing a user interface, one should be conscious of how many individual controls are required to implement the functionality. In some cases an initial design may begin with many buttons or textboxes (for example) but then further review of
the actual required functionality allows for a reduction in the number of unique controls.
But other times, there isn't a better way (which will still make sense to the user of the application) then to have a series of many repeated controls. So in the cases where one can be certain that the best UI implementation for an application will require the use of multiple copies of a given control, then it often becomes necessary to maintain some method of managing all of those controls at various points
throughout the application. Doing so typically requires that one build up some collection of controls which can then be accessed by index in order to work with any given control; but this can lead to a lot of clutter in the code file which handles these control's events. For instance there will be some kind of collection declaration, some recursive routine to find all of the controls of interest, and then any number of event handler methods with long lists of Handles clauses, or additional code loops to wire up the event handling for each control.
Purpose Since most of this functionality could be considered a requirement regardless of the type of control being managed, or its required functionality, it may make sense to wrap all of the control management functionality into a single class. And since our first requirement is a collection of controls, then a base collection class could be the perfect starting point for our control manager. There are a number of existing thread around this topic, with some recent (at the time of this writing) ones being:[URL]..In this, and related, threads I have posted examples of a simple TextBoxManager and ButtonManager control. But again, with so much similar functionality required regardless of the control being managed, it would be technically possible to create a generic ControlManager(Of T As Control) class which can manage any type of control.

So in summary, one can facilitate managing a large number of user interface controls by building a "control manager" class which both encapsulates the list of control instances, and deals with adding and removing defined event handlers for every control it manages. The generic control manager class itself can be inherited and extended into a more specific class on a per-application basis in order to provide more application-specific functionality. I have a maximized form that has controls at the top of it and a large DataGridView that is docked below all the controls. Its kind of like the Ribbon in MS Office. The controls cover about 1/4 of the screen at the top. I would like a way for the user to click a button to hide all the controls then automatically expand into the place the controls were so the user can view more data in the DataGridView and visa versa. For example, in MS Office Excel you can hide the ribbon by clicking a tiny button that has "^" on it.
I'm not very familiar with all the controls in Visual Studio so I would like to hear some recommendations. Is this situation ideal for a SplitContainer or ToolStripContainer or am I way off base here?

I've got a couple of these NumericUpDown controls I put on a form. Without describing too much about the form I basically want to update some variables each time one of these NumUD controls changes value. So for each NumUD I have a call to a Recalculate subroutine within their "changedValue" event.
There are actually two problems. First, if I initialize the "Value" property to something other than zero in VB2010 at DESIGN TIME it won't even open the form when I hit RUN. It gives me a "No Source Available. No symbols loaded for any call stack frame" error. The error box says "InvalidOperationException" was not handled. So if I try to set the initial value of the Value property to anything but zero of either I get this error.

Can anyone help me to make a program which include a Button shows the current Month and the year and when clicking the button it shows a DialogBox ith a MonthCalender (this one I have done - the Monthcalender shown on a Dialogbox).Further I want to change the month shown as a Text of the Button when I click other Buttons to make the calender to go backwards or forwards,

I've been building controls for many years professionally and personally, but even back in VB6 days I just could not work this out. After all this time I remembered about it again.If I create a usercontrol/containercontrol and add one or more controls to the controls surface, I just cannot figure out how to access the controls at design time.

I have a query about dynamically added controls to a form. I have a series of buttons which are created and added at run time. I have a two drop down lists and two buttons which are created at design time. Button 1 creates a series of buttons called "Test 1.x" based upon the selection of the two drop down lists. This works fine and am happy with the logic.However.... Button two should remove all the dynamically created buttons from the form.This does not happen. What does happen is that 50% of the buttons are removed starting with the first one. WHen checking the loop it only enters the loop half the amount of times that there are buttons. Very strange. When the loop is run repeatability it will remove all controls. Why will my logic not remove all the dynamically created controls at once? What is wrong with my logic?

I have aspx form with several textboxes.They are populated with values from a table via retrieval of a dataview.If the row count for the dataview is 0, then I'd like to reset the values in all textboxes. I want to show an explanation and for the addition and subtraction, I want to show it on a number line. For example, if the problem is 3 - 7, the number line should show and arrow to that goes right to 3, and then left 7 units (starting from 3). Then the student can see that the answer is -4.I could probably do this with some string manipulation, but what would be the easiest way to do it in a picture format? Maybe a bitmap.
