C# - Yet Another ASP:Textbox Vs <input Type="text">?

I have read through some articles on this topic but I am still cautious about this. I am all along using ASP:Textbox but I would like to know what are the things an input textbox cannot possibly perform without using a ASP:Textbox or takes much more effort to pull off?
I have a Jquery tooltip sample which uses HTML input textbox and I am not sure if I should change all my ASP:Textboxes to HTML textboxes, the things which I need to perform on this textboxes are RequiredFieldValidation as well as storing their values into the database.

If my Category and Forum selection is incorrect I am sorry and feel free to move it. I'd like to have the users input in the message box that will show. For example: There is a textbox and the user puts in their name as Bob. Then the message box would be: What my main goal is, is being able to include the users input they type inside the textbox inside the message box.

I am trying to bind a textbox to a binding source (using the IDE DataBindings Editor) and it works fine except for one thing: if I delete the text I get the subject error. What I want to happen is the datarecord field be updated to a dbnull value -- how do I get that to happen?

I'm trying to identify if the input of a textbox is non numerical, which cannot be converted to an integer/double for calculation. I do this by converting the input1.text to ascii, and looking at the value to determine the type of input. My question is whether there is any way I can analyze the whole input character by character? Asc() only gives the ascii value of the first character, but what if the input is "9W" etc? Such inputs will pass my character test, but cannot be converted to an integer.

I have a text box labled QTY, which feeds the QTY column on a datatable. the table then is ran through a function that takes the data and converts it to a string which my production machine can read. My problem is this, and its probably really simple (these problems usually are) how to i force the user to use a specific type of input on the txtbox so they would have to put the QTY in the format of 01 02 03 etc etc, i have it set to default to 00 but i want to force the user to haver to input 2 chars.

I am trying to figure out how to read a text file and check the value entered into a textbox to see if it already exists. Its basically a validation list.
I found some code on how to read a text file, but I do not know what to do with the information.

i am in need of some help getting my code working correctly like i am needing it to. Below is my code that when the user click on the textbox, it pops up a keyboard where they can click on any letter and it will type that letter into the textbox. The project I'm working on is a Multichoice RadioButton quiz with answers and percentintegers. At the end there is a MsgBox that gives the number of answers counted 'correct'and the percent 'correct'. Also after you press the confirm button on that MsgBox it emails the results to the built in information given on the SMTP information. What I am trying to do now is show the input typed into the textbox on FormA in the MsgBox at the very end.

I cannot get a value from Me.TB_SFM.Text. Upon running it is always "". It's default value is 150 and 150 shows up on the form. I get a conversion problem. I have deleted the text box, recreated and used a different name, all to no avail.
Also, If anyone has a link to a good resource on dealing with textbox data. We do alot of text boxes and are constantly converting data types. Would like to know the correct way to do it.

I have a problem with the code, I have input the valid username and password in the form textbox to input the strings in php, but it keep displaying the messagebox that says login failed.

I've created a private sub called addIRCRoom Which makes the Tab and the TextBox, but i can't figure out how to update the text in the TextBox.I've made this function to handle it:

My objective is to, instead of entering in the data manually into the text boxes, I want to read in a textfile. The Calculate button will contain the code to read in the file and assign it to the appropriate textboxes. Save the separate file in the \bin\Debug folder.

how to do different things and right now I'm building a simple program to where the user inputs thier First and last name into two different text boxes and when they click on a button it tells them what they have entered.I'm trying to make sure that they have entered letters only in each text box and if they don't I want it to display a message box that says they need to enter letters only.The problem I am having is if they enter a number in both text boxes then that is the only way that it will display the error message box. How do I determin if a user has given me what I am asking for in terms of data type.
Example if my prompt to the user say "Give me a number of double data type"
How can I tell that the user entered a double xx.yy?
Or if I am testing for integers and I get user input ABC.GH?
I know about CDbl and CInt and CStr but these don't work unless data is provided. Also how do you test if the conversion took place? Also how do you differencate between 12.00 being integer?

I have two textbox controls and I want to accept input for textbox 1 and textbox 2. However, when user enters text into textbox 1 I would like textbox 2 to mirror the same text as it is typed.
I am sure this is a very simple procedure however it is new to me and I am having trouble finding an answer with search engines. Most result are coming back as text that one can read backwards in a mirror which is not what I am looking for.

im calculating fare amount from 2 masktextbox mtxA and mtxB, i use the format 0000.00 ,, i was able to convert all prompt char values from mtxA and turned them into really zero but however it doesnt do the same on mtxb, though ive used similar code.. so my flow should be: whatever i values i put on mtxA.. on its textchange,its current value should be also put to mtxB plus an additional of 200.00
as an example : if i put on mtxA = 0030.00
mtxB = 0230.00 should be the display
but what is shows on me is mtxB = 2300.00 and also if i save it on the database .00 is not added,.....im tired fixing this so i try to use textbox instead of maskdtextbox, what i did is put lots of conditions and function on keypress to have the same format 0000.00 but i failed because everything on my code mess up whenever the user tried to edit the text according to textbox current position..check textbox.text current length from 0 to before the cursor location...but i dont know what code i should use to get the length..

I have an asp.net page with a <input type="submit"> for a button and vb codebehind.

What code do I add so that I get create a required log-in prompt pop-up box asking for a username and password. I also want to make sure that when the user types the password that the password field will not show the specific characters.
