C# - Get Router Name And IP As Shown In Windows Network Tab (in Code)?

Basically, if you go to Start and click Computer and then click on the Network link on the left hand side, you'll notice on the right hand side several categories, one of which is titled "Network Infrustructure", in that category, my router is listed, and in my case, it is "LINKSYS WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway" and when you right-click and select properties, it lists basic info such as internal/gateway IP address, on mine it is "192.168.1.1" I would like to know how to retreive this information in code, preferably a Windows API so that i can call it using a legacy VB6 app. Also, even if you just know a .NET version or a Delphi version, please do list that as well as i can code in both. However, the answer i'm ultimately seeking is a method to access this via VB6 so that would probably be a WinAPI call (will upvote & select this as answer), however, other methods are also welcome incase i can't find a legacy method (i will upvote these).

I'm currently making a program that will disable my wireless internet at a certain time and turn it back on at another time.
On my OLD router the login page was built into the webpage itself which made it easy to login via VB code
On my current Sky router they use Windows Security to Login. (Picture below)
Does anyone know how in Vb to automate the login.

I have a .NET 2.0 *.dll that calls My.Computer.Network.Ping(). The *.dll is then run out of an *.exe via AppDomain.CreateDomain() and Invoke(). The problem is that this works just fine under Windows XP but under Windows 7, I get an exception saying that no network connection is available. I tried the Ping() call out of a small console application under Windows 7 and it works just fine.

I'm currently making a code that will login to a cisco router, and show the version, then return the version to me. The connection to the cisco router is using telnet, and I'm using Dimac's w3Sockets code to Connect, login, and return data. Reference
But currently I'm having some problems, since the router sometimes need the login typed 2 times, or having a key pressed to update the terminal(telnet),meaning i have to check if it gets logged in or not. But the problem is that using dimac code, i can only wait() and waitFor(), and if it none data comes whilst waiting, it keeps on waiting. Is there away to do like: "if wait fails goto"
I've tryed "on error goto", but since its not a error, but just keeps waiting, that dont work. Also, To locate where it gets stuck I have it write to my textbox everytime it takes a step in the code, but its like the dimac code overtakes vb.net. ex: If i send some text to a textbox in the same sub as the connect code is, and it gets stuck at a wait, it dont even write to the textbox, eventhough the textbox.text command was suppose to execute before the wait().

Here is my idea so far: I have a bunch of computers connected in a local network. One of them is a MySQL server, one will have a vb.NET program wich will act as a "second server" and the rest will be different clients. Im able to access the internet on my Phone. I made a small app that lets me get to my database hosted by Godaddy. The problem is, unless I have my phone plugged into my computer it says Im not connected to the network. I can show my code if needed, but that has nothing to do with it because the application works fine as long as its hooked to my computer. Any idea on establishing a connection I guess? Im not sure why its not since Im able to access the internet, Im not sure why connecting to the computer makes it work.

I have an application that resides on a network drive.When the program runs from an XP machine on the desktop or over the network the program works for any user.When it runs from Win 7 on the desktop it works for everyone, but when it runs from Win 7 over the network it fails for users with fewer permissions.Below is the code.It fails on the last line "Dim searchResult As SearchResult = directorySearcher.FindOne"..[code]Can anyone tell me what is missing in the network permissions?

Our company runs Windows Server 2008 R2 and as part of the normal login procedure you type your username and password. IT sets the domain when you get your PC so that is all good. So, when you open IE, the intranet sight detects that you are person XXX YYY and then logs you into the site automatically as the right person.
Now is there any way that I can do the same with an application written in C# or VB.NET. I.e., I would like the user to not have to log in as they have already done so during Windows log in, and then use the application as the individual user. This is for loggin purposes and specific rights for each group.

I have a program where I need to be able to access files from an administrative share on a remote machine where the username is administrator and there is no password. I want to be able to access these files without the user getting prompted to input the username and password.
I have searched around and found some references to WMI - but as far as I can tell, WMI is mainly for managing the remote machine and not necessarily for file access (?). Also, some information gathered about WMI leads me to believe that it may be disabled on some machines or not installed on others (?). Since this program is meant to go out to a diverse customer base, I need to make sure that I cover as many angles as possible to ensure this program will run on as many machines as possible.

I have developed a windows application for my company. It is a multi user software and we are using sql 2008 as the database. The sql 2008 is installed in our company server. Within our LAN, there is no problem in accessing the software and its working pretty fine.
Now the problem is, some of the managers need to go out frequently(for business tour and all) and they need access to this software. The software is already installed in their laptops.Is there any way to access the database that is in our company server ???
We have few static IPs with us, is there any way i can use that here (Using NAT in the firewall or something)?

I am working on a backup utility for use with the mysql db. Because I need the actual backup to run regardless of if a user is logged on or not, I created the backup engine in a windows service.
Basically the backup engine checks to see if a backup job is scheduled to be run and if it is, it kicks off a mysqldump to do the backup. For sake of performance I am saving all backup jobs to the local c: drive then doing a file copy to the user defined destination.
Everything works fine except for the file copy. If the user selects a local resource to the computer it works fine. However, if a network drive is selected, I get an error that it cannot find the path.
I started thinking about it and believe this is expected since the backup engine is probably oblivious to whatever mapped drives that particular user has, i.e. the mapping process is done when someone logs in and my app is running at a lower level.
I started doing some research on this problem and found that some people are saying that windows services are oblivious of networks all together. This seemed a little odd to me so I thought I would bring the issue here.
Is a windows service truely unaware of network activity? How can I change the program to move the completed backups over to a network drive?

For a school project we need to visualise a computer network graph. The number of computers with specific properties are read from an XML file, and then a graph should be created. Ad random computers are added and removed.Is there any open source project or algorithm that could help us visualising this in VB.net? Or would you suggest us to switch to java.
Update: We eventually switched java and used the Jung libraries because this was easier for us to understand and implement.

I have a treeview control which is being used to browse various folder on the users system drive. It can also be set up to connect network folders using UNC paths e.g "serverfiles". At the moment I'm getting a list of Directories by using My.Computer.FileSystem.GetDirectories however this obviously fails when the folder is password protected.
Is there a way that I can get Windows to open the credentials dialog as you would see in Windows Explorer and deal with the credentials side so then the user name & password is cached as well?

I am having difficulties connecting to a computer through a router. The problem is that when i use an internet web page to get my IPAdress, I get the Ip Adress of my router and what i really need is to get to The Machine that has a server running on it.
