But it is not working as I expect it to. You can see it from.The DtlsB properties of all three DtlsA objects are having values from last iteration.
How do I automatically update the values of a listview in form 1 with the values inputted in form 2? I've already declared a few global variables.
View 2 Repliesi am currently making a project which is to make a cinema screen booking system. My main problem is that although i have most of what is working i need to find a formula to give the full result (overall price) in a label. My other problem is the fact that when i interact with my form certain things dont auto refresh when i change certain values e.g i change number of seats but it doesn't auto refresh the price or anything OR i click one discount then another but nothing changes and it keeps the old value.
Okay in my menu i have a CombBox (ComboBoxScreen) for choosing the film and there are 3 films to choose from in the drop menu each with their own price. I also have a Textbox (NumberSeats) for inputting a number of seats you want to book for chosen film. And lastly there are 3 radio buttons each with different discounts. e.g No discount, 10% off and 25% off. A formula to work out the overall price uses all three functions/tools above. [Code]
I'm trying to change the values of some of the controls in the ASPxGridview Edit Form, however they are not changing. It seems to be resetting? How can I do this and in which event would I do this in?

I am using Visual Basic express edition 2008.I am trying to know if a value in a single dimensional array is repeated in the array. If yes, then multiply one of them by 100. For example:
MyArray (14) = 12, 15, 18, 15, 18, 11, 15, 18, 16, 14, 18, 8, 12, 17, 10

I am having a problem with objects and arrays of objects. Basically obj_stored holds how many objects I have stored in my text file, in this case t shirts. line(y) is an array that holds each line that has been read from the text file. I then use this to assign values to my array objects properties. For example I know the first line is the color of the first t shirt, second size, third price etc. Then I know the next line will be the color of a new t shirt. There are 6 t shirts in the file.

My problem is it seems to be resetting these values after it has finished. Im creating the object each time and assigning values to it's properties but when it's finished it all resets and says 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. I'm new to OOP and was wondering what sort of approach i would take to doing this, if the one i am taking is wrong.
So I am aiming to:
Read everything in from the text file.
Create new instances of the objects depending on how many t shirts are stored, (5 t shirts = 5 objects)
Assign the values to my objects properties.

So I am terribly lost. My problem here is that I dont know how to compare values and assign the biggest with the biggest, the smallest with the smallest etc. So I want to create a table and auto-arrange the values. But the changes i made at the referenced object are not made at the object at the dictionary.

I am having so trouble with the ToUpper() procedure with strings. I am using LINQ to find unique values in a list of objects. In that whole process I set the values to compare to all lowercase in order to get a proper list. My goal is to populate a dropdown list with the values. I'm attempting to set the first letter of of the string to uppercase and keep the rest lowercase however the toUpper() procedure is not working?

Is it possible to change the default properties for different objects in the VB6 IDE (I'm sure any version would be similar, but this is the one we are currently using in my programming class in school). For example, is there anyway that automatically, when I create a Label, that it could already have AutoSize set to false, and BorderStyle to Fixed3D, etc.? I feel as if it would work greatly with the amount of time taken to layout my programs.

This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. I also checked the .designer.vb file and when I make a change it's not added to the code behind file, I'm at a loss right now to why.

The Pictre Boxes are named compAlien1, compAlien2 ... compAlien9
Is there a way to do something similar to this:

View 4 RepliesI'm currently working on binding an objects properties to fields on a Form. Whilst I have managed to get it so that I can get standard objects to bind, I am having a problem figuring out how I would go about binding an inherited object.
For example, if I had a Client class (the parent class) and then two sub-classes called CompanyClient and IndividualClient. The CompanyClient would have an extra field company name for example.The problem I'm having is that I'm not certain how to set up the binding, as if I set up the binding against the Client class then I would be missing the Company Name property for the CompanyClient, if I set up against the CompanyClient, then it wouldn't work with the IndividualClient as it doesn't have all the fields.
I know I could get around this by having different forms for each of the different Client types, but as almost all of the properties are the same I would like to avoid this if I can.I was wondering whether anyone knows how I might be able to go about doing this
How can we use the database objects from one form to another? Eg. In my Login form a person enters his user-name and password & if it is correct, the code directs him to another form(Form2). Now in Form2 How will I get which person has entered in?

on my laptop most objects of a form are suddenly in the incorrect position but ok on all other computers.could this be a corrupted .exe? this is not happening on any other computers(all are Win 7)the laptop is at another location so i cannot try replacing the .exe until i go there next week.
