I Have Problem With My Tabs vs2008 i want them to react and respond like IE8 OR IE7 , as click to select tab , X button in the top ryt hand corner to close it and another click in an empty tabpage to create a new tab.

Oh ya I cant use WinSock or whatever becuase im using Windows Vista 64 Bit. I need it because I for some reason cant use printer sharing. Why I right click on a node in my treeview the focus moves to this node and then immediately back to the previously selected node. Is there some way that I can allow the right click to select the node?

I have been working with VB 6.0 for years. I am converting an app that uses treeviews to VB.Net 2008. The way it use to work the tree grid started with a list of the drives on the system. Left click drilled down in the selected drive or directory. Right click would perform an action with the selected drive or directory. In VB.Net it appears you can only select with left click using the AFTERSELECT event. Is there a way to select a node with right click?

Basically, I have about 5 forms. 1 of these forms is the main program screen. I need to be able to use select case to navigate to the other forms, however I am unsure how to do this. I thought about using multiple buttons to each form using select case, but did not know how to implement this with the click event handlers for each button?

View 2 RepliesI have developed a WinForm app using vb.net. The app needs to send an email notification to users containg the id of an item that needs thier attention. The email needs to contain the link and commandline parameters so that the user can clik on the link and the app will open the correct form, with the item to be updated, already loaded. Click Once installs the app under the users directory ("Documents nd setting\%USERNAME%Start MenuPrograms\%AppName%..."), so, the email has to contain the user name as part of the path.
- How can click once be configured so that the instalation is in the program files directory to avoid having to add the username as path of the path?
- how do send a link which contains a parameter that directs the app to load a speciified form (not the startup form)?

I need to know how to take all of the dates entered and display on a different form the latest date selected by the user from all the entries on a form. All the options will be training selected and when the last training item is selected and a date entered I need to be able to output the training completion date which will be the latest date entered in the form.
View 2 RepliesI am currently trying to develop a program where you click on a datagridview row and then at the bottom of the window there is a button called "Modify."Once you hit this button, another window will pop open to where the user can modify the information on that specific datagridview object.I want the program to fill in what has already been entered so the user can go back and make changes if need be.I understand that datagridview has it's own update commands, but when I created by table adapters and everything, it did not create them.I am not sure if there is a way to create the update command manually, but this is the best way to explain it.

View 2 RepliesI have a DataGridView with SelectionMode = "CellSelect". I do this because I want the user to be able to click the Column Header and drag the column to a different DisplayIndex. They move the column by clicking and holding down the left mouse button, then moving the column. I also want the user to be able to click the column header and all the cells in the column would be selected. But if I change the SelectionMode property to "FullColumnSelect" or "ColumnHeaderSelect" the user can no longer move the column.In the code below, I can select all the cells in the DataGridView just fine, but I can't select all cells in a particular Column or Row. A smaller thumbnail which allow user to choose the different path is also included in my application.When the window load, a default path will appear. I have this code in the click event for a button I want to be able to select a row in my datagridview then Hit the ok button and have it populate to text box1 if textbox1 is already filled then i want to go to textbox2 and so on, (total of 6) So far if extbox1 is empty "" and i click ok button it populates, when i click ok button again to textbox2 does not populate.

I've got a right-click menu that comes up in a treeview - with an option to ADD to that parent node or delete a child node.
Currently I'm using the SELECTEDNODE - but what I really want to do is change the "selected node" when the right-click occurs. But I'm having a hard time seeing how to do that...
How do you use this event properly??

View 2 RepliesI am having a funny problem with OpenFileDialog that I just cannot solve. Using VB.NET 2008 Pro.
Problem: I run my program and click the menu item associated with this OFD and the OFD opens fine. When I select a file and click OPEN the dialog disappears then reappears. I click OPEN again and it disposes itself then loads the proper file into a form. The same thing happens with the CANCEL button as well.
Question: How do I go about coding the OFD to open a file that has been double clicked on thus bypassing dialogresult.OK . I can't seem to find an answer to this.
