Code Is Opening A New Second Instance Of The First Form?

I have 3 forms, say Form1, Form2, Form3. Form1 has a public method assigning an image to a picture box:

The problem is that this code is Opening a new second instance of the first form (Form1), when I see in debug mode and move my cursor over the frmPers variable, It's value is Nothing, altough I am seen it at the screen ¿Why is this? I am loosing my hair after three days trying several forms to do it without any results.

I'm not sure if "Simpleton Technique" is the term used to call "opening a single instance of a form", so please, by all means, correct me if I'm wrong.I opened a child form using the simpleton technique. The situation is like this:

I think maybe it has something to do with the event (MDIMain_Load)? I feel as if the program is only making a child instance of the frmUserInfo once (since the program only loads MDIMain once). And after I close it (frmUserInfo), it loads outside the MDI. Another thing, how do you kill forms that were hidden using .hide()? Is .dispose() applicable?

I am in the process of upgrading a VB6 Project to Vb.net. My problem is that when I open a child form in my project from within the Parent form a new instance of the Parent form is created. The code is fairly simple:

I have 19 .CSV files that hold engineering data in single and multiple Arrays.I would like to loop through the Directory that contains the files and open each file, fill the array and close the file and continue to the next in Alphabetical order.
This code tells me how many files I have now and will update if I add more.

FileCount give me my number of files but not sure how to continue. I have the code to open and read the file but not how to keep changing the file name for each new file name base on the number of files that exist.

Is there a better way to make a form with multiple buttons opening different things than having a form that has lots group boxes for each tab. So in the begining each box will be invisible and when you click the button the corresponding group box will become visible. Is there any other way?It will be like a background image and it'll have buttons that will mask it with invisible buttons. when the button is clicked it will open the corresponding group box.

how to use access to automate the process of opening the power point from the VBA code. So what it does is if the user clicks on the open button, the power point will open...The path and file of the power point have been set correctly.Here is the code for the button click, private sub:

I have been making a webbrowser for a while now, everything works well, except i am unable to make the 'open in a new window' button work right. So far i have managed to get a new instance of my form to open with the right url, but i am unable to keep that new form open when the orginal parent form closes.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to reference a control on a form from within a module. Unfortunately the form is just an instance, so it's not as easy as calling form.control...

That form has an option for printing, which calls another form where certain options are chosen. The print form in turn calls a function in a module, which tries to reference back to the origional form.
childform as new frmSearch -> frmPrintForm -> sub okToPrint (in module Print)
okToPrint tries to reference a listview on frmSearch, but can't find it.
For Each itmX In frmSearch.lstResults.Items
So the solutions I can think of off the top of my head are:
1. Somehow divine which form is the caller of frmPrintForm
2. Pass ChildForm to the frmPrintForm as a variable to be passed on to module Print..
3. Use frmSearch directly instead of using an instance of it.
Number 1 would be my preference, as I don't want to have to pass forms around like that.

i want to create an exe in vb.net by packaging few perl files along with it. when i am packaging those files i am able to hide those files by making the hide option true. but if the 'show hidden files' is selected those files will be visible. I want to lock/prevent the user from opening the perl file/code. want to know if there is any way to do it.

I am extremly new to this concept of aps.net and vb. all the tutorials I see are c# based or very basic for vb. What I have is a contact forum with some basic information. I got the whole "check if the user has input information correctly down pat how ever Its this whole, connecting to a database (sdf) if in another vb file ands calling that method into aspx file and proessing forum input to say "take this, insert into bla..." I come from java, JSP and J2ee bak ground where its not that diffrent and I dont have all week to read books and take baby steps. I have until tuseday morning to finsih this. I am creating a simple email application which sends mail from a user's Gmail account, as I haven't worked out how to receive incoming mail yet.I have created a form (frmSignIn) which asks for the log-in info and another (frmComposeMessage) which has all text boxes necessary for composing an email (to, subject, message body).After clicking Sign In on the first form, it should hide it and open the second form, however I get this error:
