i have a projekt with windows forms , and now i want to write a asp to use as ui. how do i communicate between the page and projekt.just insert the page in the projekt and use webdeveloper in stead of vb express ? and i can then use the class variables in the webpage referencing the class and its members?

I will be using .Net to communicate with a small unit that outputs data via a serial port. I have used an application that monitors the data between an application and this little box. What I see is functions such as IRP_MJ_CREATE, IRP_MJ_READ, etc. At first I thought I needed to build functions and I would send these via the serial port (a novice thought) now I see that the above functions are part of the Windows Driver Kit. So is it true that I call these functions in my code and then the underlying drivers communicate to the serial port and the approppriate data is seen at the serial port. So for .Net (VB) I need to find and use the appropriate functions and communicate to the serial port.

I am creating a notes software. This is just a simple application that will show the data from the database which are Notes_Title, Due_Date, Priority. I display the data with datagridview. I also added a checkbox for each row to the datagridview to mark as check if the Notes_title is already done. In displaying the data, I need to display only a 5 data in a row.So, I create a another CLASS that will only show 5 rows per page. But the PROBLEM is, if I mark the checkbox as check in the first page then if I turn it to the next page the checkbox in the first page that mark as check will be uncheck if I turn it back to the first page. The mark check in the checkbox will mark as uncheck if I turn the page. How can I make it mark as check even if I turn the pages? And How can I save the data row as done if I check

I have more than 30,000 rows in a table. It takes a lot of time to load all the data in the gridview. So I want to display 100 rows at a time. When I click next page button, another 100 rows should be displayed. When I click previous page button, previous 100 rows should be displayed. If I type page 5 in a text box, then I want to jump over to the 5th lot of rows.
I also want to display how many pages there will be. Can we implement this concept in vb.net [winform] gridview. I am using database PostgreSQL.
For some reason when the user click on the submit button and he re-fresh the page the same data get's uploaded again to my SQL Server 2005 database. I do not what this to happen... I am making use of a SQL Data Source!

I have written one application which communicate with one data logger unit (temperature monitoring unit) and download records after some interval. Unit continuously send current temperature which I have to show on screen and after each one hour I have to download log (all records saved inside unit at max 1024) from unit.
Now problem is after downloading log, application get hang or what we called working in background and resume after some time. If I pause debugger in visual studio 2008 it show control at application start (sub main) with message as "application will resume here after completing execution of current function". There is nothing in output window. So how can i trace is there any events got spool or what actually application doing in background.

On an edit screen I want the current data saved to appear in this page within all the relevant fields but when saving I want this data to add to the dataset table as an additional line of data so the transaction records are kept.I want to add a new datarow regardless of it saving one change or all 7 changes that are possble.
e.g. Line 1 - user inputs 7 cells of data Line 2 - user amends 2 cells of data Line 3 - user amends 1 cell of data an so on. Unfortunately the terminology for certain items above may not be correct as I am still new to this programming and still on a massive learning curve.At the moment I do not have the code for what I am trying to achieve as I really dont know where to start with it.I am currently able to save the data and have it appear in the "edit" panel however only the cells changed are saved an it overwirtes the initial input.

Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.

I'm working on a little app which needs to recieve information from a script on a web server. I tried to have the vb.net app pole a php web page for a command every half of a second. This worked but, the app is streaming video and every time the app needs to pole the webpage the video stutter stops. I tried setting the pole timer to 5 seconds and still every 5 seconds the video stutters. I thought that maybe sockets would be the answer, so I looked for examples of vb.net socket servers and php socket clients. I tried implementing a solution but the php cannot seem to connect to the vb.net server. I googled around and saw that maybe php cannot communicate with a vb.net application.

The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side.
