Connect To Db And Insert A Record To Bank And It Works Correct?

u have a problem with a auto number of access field,Description : in my bank(access) i have 4 field , one of them is my primary key(id) and it is AutoNumber,in my app i connect to my db and i insert a record to my bank and it works correct,but when i delete a record which id is 1 , no one of my new record has id 1 , and it is a problem in future because i should have a 40000 record and i may delete a lot of them ,
i'm working on a system that upgrades a basic version to a proversion but i have a payment gateway . it generates a code in an SQL DB.now i have a form in VB that has a textbox and a button how can i let VB connect to my SQL DB receive the code and then check if that code is correct and if its correct download silence the pro file. from an url.
Was wondering how to make it so users can log into the program and this would be much easier since the program allready connects to a database to add a username and password table which i have,how can i get it so when i click a button the program will check with the username specified if its in the data base and check the password of the given username returning a yes value if its right and conuing or exiting if its wrong?
I got 100+ textboxes that display record values. Most of the textboxes display correct values but several textboxes doesn't. These are the same textboxes. And they only display wrong values if I edit a record for the first time. After correcting the wrong values in the textboxes the first time, they display correct values in succeeding editing of records. Tried to compare their properties and all but they are the same with textboxes that worked...

I've been struggling with this for hours. I'm making a vb program to track volunteer hours. I have some fields that a user can fill in and then click update and it should add the volunteer info to the database. To confirm that it was added I'm using a datagridview that can be updated to show the volunteers in the database. My success msg says that the insert worked, and the information is showing up in the datagridview but when I close the application and go to 'show table data' for the volunteers table there is nothing there. I've tried adding .Update() to my VolunteersTableAdaptor and I've tried resetting my SqlCeCommand after the ExecuteNonQuery() call, but these haven't worked. That code works to read the entry data and to recognise the correct data, and the incorrect. However, even if entry is correct, the error msgbox will appear (x times of how many records there are in file), despite being navigated to the menu. Anyway that the Else isn't triggered when data is correct. Also for it to appear just one instead of (x times of how many records there are in file.)
In an attempt to learn VB I'm trying to build a database project for a friend's business. This db will be used to track customer information, predominantly for targeted marketing purposes. So far, the development has been slow (I'm still trying to adapt from VBA to VB), but its all starting to make sense now. I'm using two different forms for adding new customers and reviewing the information of existing customers, mainly because the database will grow by about 2,500 customers per year and we wanted to be able to search the records without returning every record when the forms load. Most of this works so far, but I'm having trouble with two issues.
When I open the new customer entry form, I want the form to automatically begin entering data without clicking the "Add New" button. The second problem involves the row ID from the database. It keep showing up as "-1", "-2" etc. The row ID records properly in the table, so no big deal. I have read that this problem is a bug in VB and that its nothing to worry about. However, down the road I will need to access the correct row ID from this same form in order to print out a report for the customer (as needed).

But as soon as I change any of the numbers to doubles (e.g. 23.32457) I get a crash (it doesnt crash on the insert, it crashes on the next one:)The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: '23#2345'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again.
Ok here goes my stab in the dark again: I would like to be able to insert a number in to a list box in the correct order, at the moment the number gets put at the end, but the list box starts negative and then gets larger and the values that will be added are within the range already there, My guess would be some sort of sort function?
I am having some trouble getting the correct syntax for a bit if code. I am using vb to insert data into a db and outputting the data as XML, here is the code

The code is for a ASP.NET web service, when I click invoke on the website i get the error Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FOR'. If I remove FOR XML AUTO, ELEMENTS everything works find, db updates but I dont get the data to output as XML. I think the issue is with the brackets required for the insert values because this issue does not occur if the SQL statement is a SELECT statement which has no brackets but i just cant figure out the correct syntax?

I am a ASP Classic Programmer, professionally for a little over a year, I have developed some rather nice sites, including the one in my signature (Still a work in progress).
I have been forced to use ASP.NET (VB) for a FileUpload control, as it offers a self controlled way of creating Thumbnails, without the use of 3rd party controls, which is great, as my hosting server does not allow for 3rd party installs on their servers. So.
The code below is what I have so far for connecting to the database and displaying a record is the "cookie" exist on the users computer.
Unfortunantly, this is not working, and to be honest with you, their is not a whole lot of resources available to show how to do this correctly.
So I am stuck with a lot of post and hoping that someone can actually assist me with this and tell me what I am doing wrong and maybe correct my code.

If you want to re-write my code, I prefer something simple and basic, as the only thing that I am doing to checking rather the user is logged in, and if so, display a record from the database. I am NOT in the need for the DataGrid, so please do not suggest it, as I am only needing to check this one thing.
I would like to also add, that I have successfully contect to my database with the FileUpload control and save file names of the images uploaded, so I know that my connection string is done properly> But, for some reason the "SELECT" statement is causing a HUGE issue. (It was easier to insert, than to select, I am not use to that)
I have this form that acts as a patient history form, so when I click the "New record" button I want the form to be ready for new input and for it to save the data when I'm done. I also need a button to delete records, but I am completely terrible with databases so I have no idea what I need to do to add records. I assume I can just have the form clear to be ready for the input but I don't know how to get it to save the data.
The whole thing works in Access but I guess that's older VB or something, they were using the acRecord to be able to cycle through all the records of the database. What is VB.net's equivalent?

when i press add, i get a new empty record, when i fill it in, i see that the collection sees it, as there is an onform listbox showing the profiles, and it gets listed there, so its actually attached to the list, but the savechanges command does not insert it into the db
there may be some validation errors upon insert, but then i would get some indication, right? now its just silently failing. as if i never tied to commit changes

I have a problem with this code.It loops all records in tables SAP_CC and ORCL_CC and matches all records where amounts are equal in both tables. The problem arises when I need to update the tables.I need to update a column on tables SAP_CC and ORCL_CC, setting the records as matched and also to create new records on the CC_RECONCILED table.

Teh table only contains these 4 fields and another field which is an automatically generated number called nbrQuoteID .All of the fields are number fields but I have tried sending them as text to see if it made a difference (Threw up an error) but it didn't.
