Cuz i tried to stop one timer, it did stop this timer but if i didnt stop the timer 1, both timer 1 and timer 2 will begin although the data is in different entity. By right if the alarm comes in from block 2, only block 2 button will blink, like wise if the alarm comes in from block 1, only block 1 button will blink
the below is my code:

I have a timer in vb.net and it's interval is 1000ms ,. i have placed in it's timer_tick event a code that will print screen the screen and save it to a database.The problem is when i click outside of the form, or loosing the focus of the mouse to the form containing that timer/printscreen, the timer stops. As a result the printscreen also stops.here are it's properties:
generate member = true
interval = 1000
modifiers = friend

I have successfully set up a timer in visual basic, see the code below. My timer uses case statements and at specific case/time it calls a function, 'ShuttleA'. 'ShuttleA' function, is a function that 'getskeystate', which inturn from the user interface tallies a response in a text box. My problem is that the program runs fine when calling the function at eg; at 10 seconds, case 10. But I want to be able to call the function e.g., at 8 seconds to 11 seconds. Or create a tolerance of e.g., 1 second either side of e.g., 10.
PrivateSub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object,ByVal eAs System.EventArgs)Handles Timer1.Tick
Dim secondsAsInteger
seconds += 1
Label1.Text = seconds
SelectCase seconds

In a vb 2010 project, I have 2 win forms: Form1 and Form2.
In the Form1 class there is a server-based timer: when the "elapsed event" fires, then I update the text of a Label1 on the Form2. A very simple code:

I've created a form that has a timer control. When this form loads it counts down before running a procedure. Simple.
Now I want to subclass this form in a new VB.NET project to so that another form inherits this form (an it's timer functionality) and runs a different procedure on this new form.My problem is that when I create the form in my new project the timer from the parent form seems to be running and when it's time is up it runs and code and crashes the VS environment.
I've searched high and low but have only found references to making sure the timer is disabled at design time. I've done this on the parent form but in this parent form's Load event the timer is enabled.... the purpose of the form. So when the child form loads it is enabling the timer. How can I work around this? Can I enable the timer from the child form? Timer is not visible when the child form loads so how do I manipulate it?

I am creating a window that is a generic keypad for editing numerical values on a touchscreen. I would like to press an 'edit' button to create a copy of the keypad window/bring up a reusable version of the same window (I don't care), but pass in parameters: the old value I'm manipulating, and a title to be displayed above the number pad. I would like the user to be able to type in the new value, then press the 'done' key to submit this value and have it sent back to the main application window into my custom control that contains a text box.(I have the number pad's layout sorted out already; I'm already using a variation on it to set a global password 'access level'. It's getting the information in and out that has me scratching my head.) [code]

I am writting a program that aims at filling up bookmarks of a template with data retrieved from a sql server db. The form opens a Word document but I can't control the position and dimensions of the word document. It seems that I can't manage to overwrite MS Word default settings for position and dimensions. I want to be able to display the word document close to the form.Here is the code that I have tried and doesn't work:

I am using an embedded webbrowser control to access a third-party website, populate the username and password boxes on their front page, and login. The problem I have is that the resulting window that the site returns to me is in the form of a new window. What I want to do is capture this window and all it's session/cookie data in to the original webbrowser control, as even if I direct the original window to the same resulting url, some kind of authentication data is missing and the site tells me I have logged out, even though the popup window works fine. I need that page in the original control so that I can continue to access it programmatically, and I don't really want to get in to the complication of accessing the new window, as I expect I'll have to delve in to the api or something.

I have a single form application with two modules. The first module holds all the Sub procedures that provide the filtering functionality for 3 DataGridViews on the form. The second module holds the Predicate of T functions that actually filter the List(Of T) objects that are bound to the DataGridView controls.
I split them into modules since I was starting to have difficulty organising and finding the procedures and functions if I held them all in the form code.In some cases I can happily both Get and Set form control properties from within the modules. In one case I simply can't, I suspect I may yet find some more instances as I test further. The offending line is in one of the Predicate of T functions:
If tWord.Length <= Investigator.NumericUpDown.Value Then Investigator is the Class name of the form.
I suspect my problem might be that the Predicate of T functions (which are collated in a module) are called from the DoWork procedure of a BackgroundWorker that is a component of the form - hence the DoWork procedure is in the form code, but I'm not certain. The same code worked fine when everything was all in the form code. The error reported when adding a watch to the Value property in the module function is "
'Value' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level ". I have tried the following to no avail:
1) Setting the NumerciUpDown modifier to Public
2) Adding a Public ReadOnly Property to the form class that simply returns the Value propety of the NumericUpDown
3) Adding Imports Root Namespace.Investigator to the module
I am considering adding a Public Shared variable to hold the curent value of the NumericUpDown and referencing that from the Predicate of T function.I realise, and have read many times, that accessing form control properties from module functions is generally not seen as a smart thing to be doing, but since I am not trying to chnage anything, I simply want to know what the current value is I decided that I wasn't too worried.

I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.
Dim hwnd As IntPtr = FindWindow(Nothing, "User Account Control")
Dim hwnd2 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd, 0, "DirectUIHWND", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd3 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd2, 0, "CtrlNotifySink", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd4 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd3, 0, "Button", "&Yes")
There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?

In my project I've got a MainWindow that opens up a second Window. Inside the second Window there is a Frame and I start a navigationservice inside the Frame. Also in the second Window I've got a KeyDown method that calls Me.Close when the user presses the Escape key. Anyway, when the second Window closes a System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherTimer() inside one of the pages in the navigation service doesn't end. Any ideas on how can I close the second Window and terminate the DispatcherTimer inside the navigationservice?

I have used timers in .Net for a long time now an never had this problem.Start timer to fire every 10 seconds that reads an object and updates the UI using a delegate.This works great until the form is minimized several times, then the timer thread seems to vanish.Anyone come across this before?
Obviously I can roll my own using a thread directly and sleeping it, however this seems like reinventing the wheel when a threading timer class exists already.
Code: Private Sub m_Tmr_Tick(ByVal state As Object)

I am facing another issue. I want to associate a timer to my function. Actually what i am doing is that i am tryin to store certain values in a database. A function is such that it calculates 5 values and stores them in a database. While storing them in the database it displays them in a textbox on the form. Now i want to display them one by one which it does. But it does it so fast that i can only see the last value that it enters in the database inside the textbox.
Can i make it show all the values slowly one by one.
Private Sub dbInsert(ByVal strfile As String, ByVal hashoffile As String, ByVal p As Integer)

If e.keydata = keys.up Then
If pbxship.Top <= 77 Then

I can't seem to get one of my functions to work based on a timer. Every tick of the timer, I'm trying to call a function which will start periodically taking screen shots until the 'Finish' button is pressed. However, I've run into numerous errors and wondered if anyone could give me any insight or suggestions. Here is what I have so far.
[Code]...
One of the errors included "Public Sub RunAC() does not have the same signature as delegate". This might be really obvious, I'm a recent Computer Programmer / Analyst graduate with intermediate VB.net experience.
