I want to create a custom control that has a cursor like a regular text box, I tried using a line and a timer that makes the line 'Blink', but that wasn't too reliable because I had to change the location and background in the timer... I guess I could do it, but I wanted to ask my question here.
Basically what I am doing is creating a custom control to allow inputs as in fractions, sub/superscripts, etc.... The TextBox Control doesn't support text in that many locations.
I am trying to create a currency converter that will convert currency. I have a text box to enter the amount and 2 combo boxes to choose which currency you are converting from and to.
I am using a webservice site XML that contains the conversions.
The problem is I cannot get the display to work properly.
I need to create a control for input a currecncies to a field. I'm planning to use a Textbox.
This is the format of the text box for currencies:
"XXXXXXXX.XX"
the dot "." must be fixed in the textbox and it should be loaded with the textbox. Furthermroe i have plans to code eachtime a user enters a number it should print the numbers from Right ot left.
eg: When user enters Number 1234.34
When the user enter these number they should display them as:
when user enters 1
0000.01
when the user enters 2:
0000.12
when the user enter 3:0001.23
When the user enters 4:
0012.34
When the user enters 3:0123.43
When the user enters 4:(after entering all digits in the number)1234.34
Could any one give a couple of ideas how to creat these kind of boxes?
I was thinking about creating a custom control (a Textbox) but still i need to have a the above format in the textbox!
Does anyone know of a good rich text editor control? I am looking for something that can take either, plain text, rtf and html. I want to be able to edit the text. It would AWSOME if it can convert rtf to html and html to rtf. I have tried the C1 and that was bad. It does not read rtf and does not convert anything. And it was really slow.

So, when txb1 looses focus, if its Text is "fried", then it sets off txb2's ProcessAlert function. I had tried to change the value of txb2 Text in ProcessAlert function, but didnt work, so I tried to get it to raise an event instead, which then tries to set the Text property. However I still cant set txb2's Text property. The Text property seems to be set for the duration of the "life" of the Event handler. When I step through the forms controls within the Event handler, the changed Text value is there, but not outside of the Event handler.
This is what I would like to achieve:To create a custom messagebox, with varying number of buttons with custom .Text descriptions, and other features. I intended to have a property array that would be redim-ed and have values (.Text values) set by the calling class:

I have previously used the arguments of a contentsResized event on a Winforms richtextbox to get the new size of my RTB. I am now developing a WinForms app with a custom WPF RichTextBox. My whole reason for doing this is to use the out-of-the-box spellchecker. I need my RichTextBox to expand and collapse vertically as the text is changed. Whenever the user moves their mouse over the control some white text fades in in the middle of the user control. Then after a few seconds the text fades out. The text is actually the location of the cursor but I have that figured out.

Is there any way to get the text drawn after the control's OnPaint?
