My goal is to be able to create a costom Visual Style like Aero Glass but with some modifycations... Also Id like for it me to be able to use that style in one application... like Norton 360 dose they have their yellow style thing going on...
View 10 RepliesI am currently in the process of improving my options dialog for a winforms application. At the moment I am using a tab control. I would like to create a form/dialog for settings that is similar to Visual Studio's. How is this done? I can see a treeview like control on the left hand side but what control are they using to display each of the options pages, it doesn't appear to be a tab control. I would like to be able to build the controls for each of the settings at design time.

I can adopt a custom scrollbar to attain this purpose but this will not serve my purpose because i want this attribute in entire application. Like it the text in textbox gets longer than its bounds than the scrollbar appers are my custom bar not the formal ones

View 1 RepliesI have began building a piece of software that needs to collect a series of information from the user. This information will all be based on what has already been entered. I would like to create a window that has a "NEXT" button in it. As they enter information, they can click NEXT to continue on, similar to how an install wizard works.
My question is... Is there a form type that does this? Or must I create a window with a next button, and when it is clicked, I need to set the visibility of buttons/listboxes/comboboxes/textboxes/etc to false and new ones to true?
The idea is that I would have a set of forms, users would click through a "forward" and "back" button, and the current form would change to a different one. My issue is that I can write code that just pops up a new form, but im not sure how to do a "replacement" of my current form. How is this usually done?
View 3 RepliesWhat I've done is create a User Control Library (Project) and I've added a single User Control to that project. The control contains a single FlowLayoutPanel, and I created a Property on the control itself to pass the FlowDirection from the Control to its FlowLayoutPanel child.
Build, reference, component appears in the Toolbox and everything works fine, but the property on the control does not appear in the Properties window when I go to edit it at design time.
Do anyone know a component that can create a menustrip in the style of outlook 2010?

What I would ideally like to do is apply some nice styling effects to this thumbnail image.. similar to the look of the icons on an iPhone.. perhaps a slight gradient, smooth rounded corners, and a border.

I'd like to save all the information to a 'new' database file. how to create a database on the fly, once that is done i'll be able to connect to it no problem, but actually creating the file is proving difficult to work/find out.
Also, with vb.net and the newly created custom file, how can it be made to automatically open that information with the program?
Is there a method in installation to associate the file type with the new program? How can i check when the program loads if a database file has been 'double-clicked' (rather than just running from the .exe of the program) and proceed to load the data?
EDIT1 - Extra InfoThe windows application has many different fields and content etc, then i need to save that to a file that could later be loaded by 'double clicking'. I assumed the easiest way would be to create a mini-database for each unique file

I need two seperate lists, which every item is Integer, String, Bitmap - and one which every item is Integer, String String. However I don't know how to do this, or even where to look - I've googled for custom objects and custom object lists. In one thread I'll be adding items to List1(Of Object1), and processing them, and adding the results to List2(Of Object2), however I need to be able from other threads to look at the list and say only give me the items where Integer = (my thread ID), is this possible? I have a MouseEnter event which currently handles some custom controls on my form. The program is a card game. I have a collection (handCards) that gets populated when the user draws a card and then it adds the latest card to the form. This collection holds cards of various custom types, all which inherit from picturebox. Drawing the cards from the deck and adding them to the form works fine. The trouble I am having is that at runtime, after a card is drawn and added to the form, I've created an addhandler line of code to have those cards respond to my MouseEnter event, but my addhandler line of code is telling me that MouseEnter is not an event of object. How can I get around this so that after a card is drawn and added to the form, when the mouse enters the new custom control, my MouseEnter event fires? Here's one of the many things I've tried and what I think should be the simplest and easiest that should work.deck.DrawCard()AddHandler handCards(handCards.Count).MouseEnter, AddressOf Cards_MouseEnter
P.S. the MouseEnter event works fine for custom controls that are on the form prior to runtime and all it does is take the image of the control and enlarge it by placing the image to a bigger card on the form.

"The Assembly "MyASsembly.dll" could not be loaded. Check that any dependencies the file requires are installed"
I am using Visual Studio 2003 and the 3rd part controls are C1.
