I know this is not the right place for this question but still I would like to create in Visual Studio a small site with related links based on what the current page is displaying, from what I understand it's about MVP/MVC
I want to enable a photo in the upper right section of a Windows Form, but I can't figure out the way to set a photo to visible when one of the tab pages is selected.Right now I have it set up as a visible = true when the tab page is clicked (the tab page itself not the tab button). What I want it to do is become visible when the tab button is clicked.
If this is still confusing I can expand more. Not sure what more you need.
Edit: I'm trying to do it without placing the photo within the tab page.

I can connect to my MySQL datababse no problem by clicking my login button.Now I can't figure out how to query the database and check if username and password are correct, and switch to a different form, to display the data loaded from the database.This is Login.vb Form

I am currently redeveloping my web browser application using the axWebBrowser component. I have, up to now, managed to port most of the code from my previous application, which used the standard webbrowser component. How would I retrieve a list of links from the current web page displayed in the axWebBrowser and display them in the DataGridView? Is this feature and perhaps other capabilities of Visual Studio comments documented anywhere? I have an old system developed in Visual Basic. How can I determine what Visual Studio version to use based on the source code files? I've tried to upgrade the application using VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010. With VS2005 when I attempt to upgrade the source, it says the system was developed in a newer version. I need some help in the creation of a program to generate a security code based on the current date. I need to create something that first multiplies the MMDDYY (ie X=MM * DD * YY) then also adds the MMDDYY then finds the remainder and then multiplies but a specified number. I would like to create a small program that sits in the system tray with this code displayed. The code will always need to be 6 characters, so I might need to pad it with zeros. It has been years since I took basic VB, and I am really rusty.

I would like to create a build event to do that, but I do not see a "Build Events" folder on the property page. Is there a setting where I can get this folder? having a modal window spawn for a secure asp.net site. I currently have a asp test site setup which when the user clicks on the login link it opens the standard asp.net login page (login.aspx) within a modal telerik RadWindow. I am calling this page using javascript and this works fine.
The challenge I have now is when a user clicks on a link within the page if that link points to a secure section the login screen loads in the main frame of the site vs. a pop-up. I realize why (aka my js funciton is not being called) my question is to work around this would the correct/acceptible approach be to call a method from each link/button that tests for user authenticaiton? If the user is authenticated then redirect to the page otherwise call the javascript funciton to open the window?
UPDATE: I have some progress to now at least determine if the user is validated. Since I am using forsm auth I can test this using ISAUthenticated

I'm working with a vb.net application and i automate word with vb.net. so i want to create a page based on my template so i have to specify where the template file is but in my computer the file is in a special folder lets say named myapps but in the clients file it will probably be in the programfilles folder is there a way that i must not specift the whole path and just the file name or something like that?
View 1 RepliesMy application is intended to crawl a URL page and extract all possible links from the page.It works fine for a certain URL but with another it keeps causing problems. When the root page is accessed it correctly extracts the different directory links. but when it requests the directory links html page it pulls the main root URL again. someone mentioned about redirection but when debugging I see the url variable containing the directory link correctly.

In the code below, I am able to get all of the files into a list, but I cannot get the folder correct. What I mean is in your user directory, you have sub directorys such as, Documents, Music, and Pictures. When you run this code, it displays them each as thier own node, not nested. I hope this makes sense.

Changed the code to the way spinion told me to. When I run this code I get an error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' when it starts to try and add files to the tree view.
I was trying to create a visualizer for IDictionary or ICollection Then like the simple visualizer (without dialog; I mean the ususal string visualizer that appears when hovering the variable, see image below), I want to make my custom text, I want to cast the collection to its type's list (I.E. StringCollection to List(Of String) or List) and then I will be able to see it in the visualizer. Alright, I've been taking this class in school for Software development, and right now I am working on a assignment my professor is having us do, and honestly, I am kind of stumped here. Basically he wants us to create a form in Visual Studio 2005. It has a group box with two Radio buttons, (One for boys, One for Girls) and a List box that lists the corresponding names of the Gender you selected with a radio button.Alternatively, you can click the Report button and get the list that way.

I have a main form with a ComboBox1, Pic1, ImageList1, and Label1 - In my ComboBox I have 118 entries, and 118 corresponding Images in the ImageList control - Right now I have it set to show the Image from the ImageList when a ComboBox1 entry is clicked, by the Index number:

What I want to know is, Can I make it so I can add/update entries in the ComboBox1 and ImageList1 at runtime? Such as, have an 'Open' dialog to import the Image I want to add, and a simple InputBox to add to the Combo1 list? Also, if this IS possible, if I add Items at runtime, won't it mess up my Indexes, and then the correct Images from the ImageList1 won't be the ones that show?
I know, lot of questions, but I am trying to cleanse my mind of VB6, and focus on .NET - More complicated, but I like the appearance of the finished programs much better, without stupid additional OCX's
