Mar 26, 2012
You did it very good and i will ask you step by step to fulfil my knowledge and keeping it as the sample for the learners who love to know the Visual Basic language especially with the song program. Could you please add the cover picture to audio file path in Add A New Song Form as in the picture below.

I need to play a sound file: Soundsopen_creaky_door.wav"
However the code only works if I specify the EXACT location:
My.Computer.Audio.Play("c:soundsopen_creaky_door .wav")
Is there a way I can set the relative path to something like this?
My.Computer.Audio.Play("soundsopen_creaky_door.w av")

What I'm wanting to do is add something to my software that sort of acts in place of an archive by saving pictures an audio clips as string.
I want to be able to save an image/audio clip to a string, and then pull that data from the string again and convert it back to an image/audio file. The purpose of this is so that I can save multiple images and audio clips all within one string, using datasplits to later separate them again.
Basically, what I had in mind was saving an picture/audio file to a string setting (let's call it my.settings.audiofile), and then pulling that string setting and writing it to an jpg/mp3 file using my SaveFileDialog.
So, how would I write raw audio/picture data to a string?

I'm working on a program that allows a person to click on some text and it will read the text (play a wav file) using My.Computer.Audio.Play. The program calls a procedure called PlayAudioClip which uses AudioPlayMode.WaitToComplete because in some cases two wav files will be played one after the other(two languages). During the playing of the wav files I want to show a visible indicator that there is audio. I've got a picturebox called "AudioPic" who's image property points to a picture in my.resources. THe visible property of AudioPic is set to false when the form loads When the user clicks on the text my program should display the image (Visible=true), play the clip (or two) and then hide it again.
It seems that the picture is not completely loaded before the wav file plays and since I have it set to WaitToComplete it stops the loading until the wav file has played, at which time the program hides it.
How can I force it to finish showing the picture before playing the clip?[code]...

I have a VB 6.0 code that creates file/directory on given path. If the path is local or a mapped drive then it's working fine but if I am having a network path like \netpathputfileshere" then it is not working. If I mapped "\netpathputfileshere" to some x: drive on local then it will work fine BUT I need not mapped this path. So is there any way to do this directly on network path. I get error for ChDrive "\netpathpullfileshere"

I have completed my VB project using vb 2008 express edition..I am not able to create a set up file for my project and I think it is because of the file path i have provided in my program
dbSource = "Data Source = C:Documents and SettingscfadminDesktopLead_managementLead_Management_ProjectLead_Management_ProjectLondon.mdb"
The above path is a fixed path which connects my program to the database. Now when I create a set up file and try to run on another machine it wont recognize this path . have placed the database in the same folder that of the program.

Im trying to write to a file I created and place "Unregistered" in it. Thought it would be a simple task but keep getting an error. Its happening when I try and open the file to write. This is the error: Access to the path 'G:\Projects\Project\pbss\bin\Debug\5\pbssv\Data.DB' is denied.
Ive tried adding the file attributes to read-write and still get the same. Most of the code ive looked at via a google search points to the same as ive got for the Added default value area. Im not sure if there is a conflict between the 2 different ways im accessing the file when creating and writing too? [Code]

When I try to download I get an exception for the file, Access Denied to Path. When I gave the permissions to folder that I chose, then works fine. How can I resolve that problem? End-User will select the folder. How do I change the permissions?

As seen below in the screenshot I used the following code to draw a line from CA to CA 1.1
g = pbxMap.CreateGraphics
g.DrawLine(pen1, D.v(path(t)).x, D.v(path(t)).y, D.v(path(K)).x, D.v(path(K)).y)
Is there anyway to make the red picturebox at CA to move along the line drawn to CA 1.1? Something like the google driving directions where a car will moving along the path from a starting point to a ending point..

I am trying to read and display a file using MapPath as follows :
Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"
Dim FilePath As String = MapPath("../Document/123.pdf")
Response.WriteFile(FilePath)
Response.End()
This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.

I'm using acrobat that returns unix paths instead of windows path's. So im wondering if there is a way in vb.net to convert the path to windows path.
i tried using:
docs(i) = javaScriptObj.path().ToString.Replace("/", "").Substring(1)
position = docs(i).IndexOf("")
docs(i) = docs(i).Substring(0, position) + ":" + docs(i).Substring(position + 1)
this only works on local files, but fails when im starting to use network drives.
