Creating A POS (point Of Sales) System
Dec 15, 2011I have just finished college and I am awaiting my exam date. I have created some desktop applications for my portfolio, but now I want to create a Point of Sales (POS) system to add to the list.I notice in supermarkets and various shops that POS systems use touch screen monitors to interact with the program.My first question is, do I need to use different code or controls in my applications so they can be used with touch screen monitors.I have created an application for hotels for booking rooms (not for a client, just as a demo project), but if there is anyone out there who could give me some pointers on how to create the POS system.I will be doing some research and I will start designing some controls over the next few days. I am looking forward to getting this project started.

Creating Modules For Program (Similar To Firefox Add On)
Apr 7, 2010I have a contact manager program that I'd like to design for multiple network marketing companies. My desired structure would include a core program which covers basic contact management functions. After that one could purchase a module for their specific network marketing company. This module would contain a variety of controls that the original program would need to be able to manipulate. Here is an example of what it would have to have:A group box containing buttons that link to a genealogy view, and the option to import one's donwnline from the back office provided by a company.A panel which is displayed on the contact page allowing the user to input business information or which will be filled by importing a downline from the back office: ie business ID, qualification level, sponsor information etc.a panel displayed when one searches for contacts on the contact list page which allows the user to sort based on information such as when they joined, what their business id is and so forth.a panel which is displayed in a personal business overview page which presents to an individual how many people in their downline are at each qualification level and develop a mailing list for individuals of a certain qualification level.
I have the code developed to perform all these functions, I just wanted to give you an example of what needed to be done. I'm thinking that what I'm trying to create is a library that one can download and the program will recognize, but I'm not really sure where to go. What I'm really trying to do is figure out what kind of file I can make that will contain all this code and the GUI information that the program will recognize.
Runtime Classes Similar To System.Resources
Nov 17, 2009I need to generate a class at runtime similar to System.Resources where you can add a resource eg 'picture.bmp' and it immediatelly is accessible as 'System.Resources.picture.bmp'. I presume I need to generate XLM or/and XLSD at design time and then deserialise at runtime but I cant find a reference on how to do this. Specially without knowing the generic class in advance (as 'System.Resources' doesnt know all the resources in advance).

It will have a button that when you click it it opens a FolderBrowserDialog and it will have an area that displays the contents of the selected folder. I want to have a label that displays the current folder path (i.e. 'USERDocuments...') and I also would like a feature to search all files on the computer.Also, is it possible that when I click on a file in the contents of the selected folder it displays its information (i.e. Name, Size, etc.)? And can I also make it so that if you double click on another folder in the current folder's display it opens that folder? And can I have a button to go up one directory?

Mar 11, 2012I'm trying to calculate the direction between two points on a two-dimensional grid. Actually I want to determine if that vector is within a range of two values. Suppose the grid's origin is 0,0 at the upper left corner, and 0 degrees represents north. I have a point A on that grid. I want to know if a line from point A to point B on the grid is within a range of directions between 111.8 degrees (a little south of east) and 158.2 (a little east of south). Those are approximations; the 111.8 is 90 degrees plus the arctangent of 2/5, and 158.2 is 180 minus that value. I worked out a series of calculations worthy of a medieval astronomer, but I suspect there is a simpler way. I'm going to have to do this for a variety of other vectors, and I'd like to generalize

Loan Calculator Code Using Scrollbars
Mar 22, 2009I wrote a Visual Basic program using the PMT function to calculate the monthly payment for a loan. Also calculate the Total of All Payments made over the term of the loan. This is how it should work, The user will input the loan amount in a text box. The user will use horizontal scroll bars to input the term of the loan (years), and the rate of the loan. As the user clicks the scroll arrows for years and rate their values display on the form above each scroll bar. When the user clicks the Calculate button the program will output values for the amount of the monthly payment and the total of all payments for the term of the loan. The two scroll bars are set to their mid-points (15 years and 10%), I am unable to get to show this values in their respective text boxes for some reason. [Code]
