Creating A POS (point Of Sales) System

I have just finished college and I am awaiting my exam date. I have created some desktop applications for my portfolio, but now I want to create a Point of Sales (POS) system to add to the list.I notice in supermarkets and various shops that POS systems use touch screen monitors to interact with the program.My first question is, do I need to use different code or controls in my applications so they can be used with touch screen monitors.I have created an application for hotels for booking rooms (not for a client, just as a demo project), but if there is anyone out there who could give me some pointers on how to create the POS system.I will be doing some research and I will start designing some controls over the next few days. I am looking forward to getting this project started.

I'm working on a sales system. I have a form which consist of all the following information (item code, item name, item price, quantity of item) which is display using a data grid. Data input by user using text box and all this information will be stored in a database (sales database) I'm using ms access 2007. the grand total will be displayed in a text box. And amount paid will be input in a text box too, my major problem now is how to I create a receipt that will have all this information of the purchase. I have a receipt button. How to get the reciept done.

I have desinged a point of sales software but i need a lot of help to upgrade it as it is not standard and i'm a young programmer. I have designed the following forms (Cash Sales, Credit Sales, stock and Items).When a user inserts a record for cash or credit sales) I want that particular product entered to be deducted from the stock.

I'm trying to creat a program that tracks the sales of five products all with different monetary values. I'm trying to display the total number of each product sold, a combined total of products sold, and the total sales value. So far I'm only outputing the value of one of each product, I think there is a problem with the loop somehow. [code]

Assume a grocery store approached you to write a simple program that calculates total sales of purchases. I need my program to output and input a customer ID and sales amount multiple times. I need it to display both outputs, customer ID and sales amount, on mulltiple lines. It also will need to accumulate the sales amount and then display the total sales. it should look something like that.[code...]
I think that I was supposed to use a messagebox but wrote the program a different way. the form.vb was already locked, but I added two text boxs. Not sure if I did this right because I need to enter multiple sales for one customer ID.[code...]

How do I go about doing this? I have currently made this code, but sometimes points are created on the boundaries of this picture box, which I do not want. I want all new random points to be within the bounds of this large playarea (picturebox). Foodarea is my big picturebox which i want all fruit to spawn WITHIN not outside on it's edges.

For instance, say I want to search for the text found between "That is a " and " car" in the string "That is a red car", so it would return "red".I know you can use .SelectionStart and SelectionLength, but the length of the word can change, so the selection length can vary. i have a picturebox which displays a map i have 2 modes add point and delete point when the user clicks the picture it creates a point on the picture where the user has clicked that works perfectly its when i try and delete the point when it doesent work :/ i have all the points loading from an xml file this is the code i have:

I'm trying to calculate the direction between two points on a two-dimensional grid. Actually I want to determine if that vector is within a range of two values. Suppose the grid's origin is 0,0 at the upper left corner, and 0 degrees represents north. I have a point A on that grid. I want to know if a line from point A to point B on the grid is within a range of directions between 111.8 degrees (a little south of east) and 158.2 (a little east of south). Those are approximations; the 111.8 is 90 degrees plus the arctangent of 2/5, and 158.2 is 180 minus that value. I worked out a series of calculations worthy of a medieval astronomer, but I suspect there is a simpler way. I'm going to have to do this for a variety of other vectors, and I'd like to generalize

I have a DataGridView that will occasionally have a RowError icon displayed in the RowHeader (shown below)I have code that displays a small form when the users mouse moves over the row header or clicks the row header.I would like to draw aline from the top-left of the form to the middle-right of the row header.I basically want to point from the form to the error icon.
