I've done asp.net exclusively so long, and now I have to convert a small web app to a desktop app.
At one point in the web app, I dynamically generate a table of data and add it to a placeholder control.
I'm not sure how that would be done on a desktop app. Can anyone suggest a control or 'windows' way of doing that.

I have a unit-test for my entire solution(over all 300 methods) and this unit-test will run daily. Here is what my unit-test does,Suppose we have Insert method which inserts a data through Store procedure into Sql server 2005 table. The unit-test for this insert method is,first i will run a query(dynamically) which gets all required data for insert method(in other words it will get data from same table and does inserts, this is purely to test the method) and my problem here is if the table does not have data at all then my unit-test fails.
Since I'm doing select dynamically and then inserts, this happens when I run my unit-test in different environmental like Quality Assurance and performance Assurance. So I'm looking for a solution to avoid unit-test failure becz of nodata.. I'm looking for solution where I do some think like this if I get an error message say no data. Then I get data from different environment(like development data base then do insert into the table and run the unit-test).
I have a UserControl that has a simple repeater inside. It has a property called data which when passed into the control populates the repeater using the standard databinding.

I have a created a user control. This user control I dynamically load on a page inside Telerik Panelbar control. I have done all necessary coding to save the viewstate and load this dynamically created usercontrol every time page loads.On this User control I have a asp panel. By default this panel is invisible. When user clicks a button on this user control panel is made visible. On page load of this user control I populate all the controls on this panel.Everything works fine if I dont load this use control dynamically but when I load this user control dynamically and if I make panel visible by default then only all fields on the panel are populated. But if I make by default invisible and on button click make panel visible none of the text boxes or comboboxes are populated. I populate comboboxes on page load of the userControl but inbetween postbacks all the comboboxes on the user control loose data.[code]...
View 1 RepliesTo detect 'death of player' I am using the mouseleave event of my picturebox background (background1). Unfortunately this triggers both when the mouse enters an 'evil' and the 'points' and ends the game without the player being able to collect points.
The obvious way to solve this would be to swap detection to entering evils.
Unfortunately I am dynamically creating my 'evils' and do not know how to also dynamically create subs to deal with MouseEnter. Here is my code for generating the 'evils'

View 1 RepliesI'm writing a scheduling program that queries a MySQL database for today's appointments and uses a Table Layout Panel with employees on the top and times on the left to display the schedule. I am trying to add another table ontop of that table for each appointment and set the rowspan of that dynamic table to occupy the time slot of that appointment from start to finish.ll the appointments appear in the dynamic table and each dynamic table appears in the appropriate starting positions in the main table. When you are designing GUI's and put a Table within a table, you get a RowSpan and ColumnSpan option for that inner table. The problem I'm having is the dynamic tables are not giving me a RowSpan option, which I believe is because it was created using code and doesn't know that it's inside another table.Here is part of the code... Basically what I would like to do is get the heading names from the table in access and populate the listview, later on I will what it to look at specifc data to populate the list view.

I'm trying to generate a pivot table in Excel using VB.NET 2008. I need to bring the data into one tab, and then generate a Pivot on another (i can't do this externally because the data is pulled from a bunch of different places). Currently I'm doing this pivot in the actual code, and then writing to Excel, but it takes up a lot of resource and time and this will make things much easier! I created a sample list below, and I am trying to generate a sample pivot table based on it, but I'm getting errors:

I'm trying to add rows dynamically to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table control in ASP.NET. I found some sample code that does what I'm seeking, but it only adds a single row. It seems like the table row count does not carry from one page load to the next. The user should be able to add as many rows as desired, and I need to capture the data from each row.
What am I missing? Code below.

I have an error panel that is subbed in to a page if an error goes wrong to gracefully handle and display errors.Currently, I am just appending the error messages to a string and pushing that to a label. If you have multiple errors, this gets messy.I'd like to push each error to a list item in a bulleted, unordered list.How can I dynamically generate, from a vb codebehind file, new list items inside of an undordered list element?

Where R is the Region i select from a Combobox, P is the product the client chooses and the auto generated six digit number and HH is the hour when the record was entered in the system. I've create a new VS 2008 Window Form Project using VB. I added an oleDbDataAdapter to the first and only form, set it to a table in my Access 2007 Database (there is only one table, PK field autonum of course and two Memo fields). The Database is in the Project's folder. A standard oleDb Connection object was created, as I expected, then I select the DataAdapter and choose 'Generate Dataset' which produces a standard DataSet called 'DataSet1.xsd'. Now when I build the project I get an error 'Error 1 Type 'FontTest.DataSet1' is not defined.' I do have a reference in my new Project to System.Data.So what the @#%$@ is going on? Why isn't the Dataset create by the DataAdapter being recongized? I can get into the DataSet Designer. The DataTable create is perfect, three columns defined correctly as I expected.
