LoadControl For Same Ascx Control Multiple Times In A Placeholder?
Feb 7, 2012
I have a UserControl that has a simple repeater inside. It has a property called data which when passed into the control populates the repeater using the standard databinding.
On a page I have a placeholder.
I have a loop which does the following
Dim qDetail As New UserControls_ReportDataTable
qDetail = DirectCast(LoadControl("~/UserControls/ReportDataTable.ascx"), UserControls_ReportDataTable)
For example we generally apply threading to make application faster and unnecessary timetaking not related to UI things can go in secondary threads.Now If I have a user control
This control contains a public function LoadControl() Function is called from the form which is using the user control In side function
i'm having one user control in asp.net ,i just want to add the user control multiple times in a single web page in runtime in a separate table. How to do this?
I'm developing a windows application. I have a form in which there is a list box and a treeview control. My purpose is to fill treeview according to list item clicks. This is done using a pair of subroutines called ReloadPermissions and FillMenuItem:
Private Sub ReloadPermissions() Dim p As New Permissions Dim i As Integer Dim it As TreeNode Dim el As New List(Of String)
[Code]...
There are only two subroutines in which nodes are added to treeview control, and they are subroutines above. The problem is that whenever list item is clicked, node count displayed in treeview is increased!!! I checked number of nodes before and after call to tvPermissions.Nodes.Clear() using MsgBox. Results show that number of nodes isn't increased (1 before call, 0 after call, again 1 after ReloadPermissions() is called), but what is displayed doesn't show such a behavior! Refreshing window by putting it under other windows or call to tvPermissions.Refresh() has no effect.
I'm adding web user controls to a page dynamically. Using the LoadControl method that only takes a virtual path pointing to the .ascx works pretty nicely. However, the overload of LoadControl that takes a type and an array of parameters is causing me some headaches. The web user control is instantiated as expected, but the controls contained within the web user control are null and I get an exception as soon as I try to work with them. Strange, because it's working when use the first version of LoadControl.
The web user control, simple, with a Literal control:
<%@ Control Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="MyControl.ascx.vb" Inherits="MyControl" %> <asp:Literal ID="myLiteral" runat="server"></asp:Literal>
The controls' code behind:
Public Class MyControl Inherits System.Web.UI.UserControl Public Property Data As MyData
[code]....
And the relevant code from the .aspx from which I'm trying to dynamically load the control:
Private Sub Page_Init(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Init Dim x = LoadControl(GetType(MyControl), New Object() {New MyData With {.ID = 117}}) Page.Controls.Add(x)
I'm trying to find a label on an aspx page from a user control (ascx) on said aspx page. Obviously Page.FindControl("lablel1") is not working. Do I need to add in ClientID somewhere?
I'm finding a dropdown in an ascxcontrol on my aspx in the following way.
Dim cp As ContentPlaceHolder = DirectCast(Page.Form.FindControl("ContentPlaceHolder1"), ContentPlaceHolder) Dim ascx As UserControl = DirectCast(cp.FindControl("drpType"), UserControl) Dim drpType As DropDownList = DirectCast(ascx.FindControl("drpType"), DropDownList)
Is there a faster way without having to acces all the elements on the page?
I'm writing a Repeater Control in an ascx file which renders some info as a row that comes from a complex search. In an aspx file I have the query to retrieve a DataView that gives me the XML string with the info needed to feed the Repeater. The problem is that I don't know how can I pass the XML string (or the DataView or DataSet) from the aspx to the ascx file so as I can render the info.
I use the same nemespace in both user controls. I create a class in one of them and I want to be able to call it from another class but it is not visible. It is public.I specify full namespace and can not see it. How do I do that?
I have developed a paging control that I would like to use in a variety of applications, both C# and VB.NET.I'd like to package the entire thing, markup and all, into a DLL which I can add as a reference from my other applications' bin folders. If this is not possible, or is a very bad idea, what is the recommended method for deploying a web user control amongst multiple applications?(I like how easy it is to utilize Ajax Toolkit controls from a single DLL, although I'm not sure if those are custom controls or web user controls)
If I set a .ascx control's visible attribute to true, what event is called? What method can I create in that control's codebehind to act on this event?
I have a user control that I'm adding to a webpage dynamically. The ascx has a couple of controls that I want to have access to at runtime. I can access the ascx itself, but none of the controls on the ascx are available. I have tried adding a simple public variable and also tried adding a public property to the ascx, but I am unable to get access to either of them at design time (compile errors). I added the following to the code-behind of the ascx control:
Public Property areaCode() As String Get Return iebEmpPhoneAreacode.Text End Get
I have written a web usercontrol (ascx). Inside, there is a Panel that I want to show/hide on click of a hyperlink inside the usercontrol. Normally, this is easy just by doing something like this (the onclick attribute is added to the hyperlink on prerender):
I have an ASP.NET page (WebForm) on which I set the content of a central DIV by dynamically loading one of five user controls during Page_Load, dependant on the stage of the application.
One of the user controls contains radio buttons and a text box together with a submit button. What I want to do is process that information when the form is posted using the submit button.
I could do this with an AJAX call using jQuery, but I don't really want to do that, so I'm trying to access the form data on postback, but on page load following the postback the data is not present in the Request.Form object.
Looking at what I need to do it seems pretty simple and I'm sure is once you've got your head around it, but I can't find out how to carry this out. Some of the things I have read refer to event bubbling, but that doesn't make too much sense in this scenario.
EDIT: To clarify, I want to post the page back to itself to capture the values from the form elements via the Request object, store them in the database, and then display a confirmation message (or something else) on postback, and not re-display the same control again. So I won't be loading the same user control again.
I read the lines from a textfile into a string array and then I use a foreach loop on the string array. I want to go through the same string array again after the loop reach the end of the string array
Private Sub WebBrowser1_DocumentCompleted(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.DocumentCompleted
So I took this from an example. GetInstance() is called from hundred different places in my program, and when I debug, the line "Prog = New Program" keeps getting hit for each of those calls. Which I thought was exactly what should NOT happen.. Or do I have some fundamental misunderstanding?
[Code]....
It seems the "New" sub triggers a number of calls to Program.GetInstance, before the first one completes. This is due to me earlier having lots of shared public objects in this class, which are no longer shared since the class was made singleton. And these objects, when initialized, calls the Program class for reference to other of it's objects.
My textbox (txtCopies) default value is 1 so naturally, as it is coded above, the datarow is added once into the Movies Table. But what I need to know is how to code if the txtCopies field has a greater integer value.
I keep on getting errors for every line in the code below that tell me that the attributes cannot be applied multiple times. What does this mean and how can I fix it without changing what the code does?
I am doing a project for my company. In that i have to enter the number of items in the first form and in the second form i am going to enter the details of each items. So i have to repeat the second form to get the details number of times depending on the value i have given for number of items in the first form.From the home page i will be entering the values for the master file. after entering the values for the master file then i have to enter the details of the individual item details in a transaction file.
I'm trying to loop the inputbox 5 times but I'm not sure how. Dim payroll1 As String payroll1 = InputBox("What is the payrolls for store1", "Inc", , , ) Lblstore1.Text = payroll1 I can get it to loop till a specific amount but not 5 times exactly.
I have one Private sub that runs in a loop. I want the sub to run multiple times at once. For example the program runs, you press start; you run the program again and press start, again and again... the same program doing the job at once. now i just want one program do to it alone. But i would like it to be user defined. exp. run program. type in a text box 10. press start. and it works as if 10 of them work open working on the same thing.
How can I tell something to use a code without completely adding it in that sub again? I have some code that will be used alot within my program. I could write a DLL, but I don't know how to use those!
Here is my code:
Dim str1 As String = System.IO.File.ReadAllText(Me.OpenFileDialog1.FileName) Dim s2 As String = str1.Replace(".[1gs5]", "a") s2 = s2.Replace(".[u775]", "b") s2 = s2.Replace(".[fsef]", "c")
I have a button where I get data from a database that matches a search string I enter. Everything works fine the first time the button is clicked. However, if I click it again with a different search string, I get the same results as the original search string. I've tried to dispose, clear, and reset my dataset before I load the data each time, but it still finds the original query. This is the code I use to get and request the data:
Private Sub btnCfind_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCfind.Click mdbFile = "TCICUST.DBF" mdbCond = " WHERE COMPANY LIKE '" & cbCust.Text & "%' ORDER BY COMPANY " GetDB() [Code] .....
