This will obviously take a long long time to hard code so I'm looking to create it dynamically. Based on what i'm currently trying to learn I'd like to be able to do this using jquery or asp.net (vb) but anything will do as long as it works!
I'm writing a scheduling program that queries a MySQL database for today's appointments and uses a Table Layout Panel with employees on the top and times on the left to display the schedule. I am trying to add another table ontop of that table for each appointment and set the rowspan of that dynamic table to occupy the time slot of that appointment from start to finish.ll the appointments appear in the dynamic table and each dynamic table appears in the appropriate starting positions in the main table. When you are designing GUI's and put a Table within a table, you get a RowSpan and ColumnSpan option for that inner table. The problem I'm having is the dynamic tables are not giving me a RowSpan option, which I believe is because it was created using code and doesn't know that it's inside another table.Here is part of the code... I'm trying to add rows dynamically to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table control in ASP.NET. I found some sample code that does what I'm seeking, but it only adds a single row. It seems like the table row count does not carry from one page load to the next. The user should be able to add as many rows as desired, and I need to capture the data from each row.
What am I missing? Code below.

Here is what my unit-test does,Suppose we have Insert method which inserts a data through Store procedure into Sql server 2005 table. The unit-test for this insert method is,first i will run a query(dynamically) which gets all required data for insert method(in other words it will get data from same table and does inserts, this is purely to test the method) and my problem here is if the table does not have data at all then my unit-test fails.

I've done asp.net exclusively so long, and now I have to convert a small web app to a desktop app.
At one point in the web app, I dynamically generate a table of data and add it to a placeholder control.
I'm not sure how that would be done on a desktop app. Can anyone suggest a control or 'windows' way of doing that.

I am trying to figure out how to do this or if it is even possible. I believe it should be, I have about 20 different tables with different amounts of columns in each table. I.E. One table might only have 4 columns while another might have 30 columns. What I am trying to do is create 1 sub/funtion that will handle the select and import for all 20 different tables, unfortunately for me I can't seem to figure out how to write this.
I know the select statement for getting the column names is :

I created a function that creates a global temporary table to stage data from a excel sheet I need the table to persist for me to map the columns using a form. The table is still there when the code goes back to the sub that calls the function until I call the form where I do the mapping. I am trying to avoid create/drop table scenario with a perm stage table.How can I get this table to persist until the data gets loaded into the perm table?

This is really a pre-defined table and the data is already specified to be inserted to the table. However, my primarily task is to read a flat file which has the data and consider the first line as the column to be column names.
Therefore, initially I created an open dialogue to browse for the text file and store the path such as E:Datafile est.txt, in a TextBox1 visible at run time. Now the task is to change the above "create table" to read the txt file (column names are on the first line) and then create the table in the database.

The data is really, really, simple, all I need to be able to do is query a table on my MySQL database for COUNT of ID WHERE locationName = Container.DataItem during each loop of the repeater... but I don't know how to do this.I'm thinking maybe I have to do this first, create a table in memory somehow, but I am afraid I have no idea how to achieve this.
Has anyone got any examples of a similar thing, it's kind of binding to a repeater from two datasources... each task is very simple, but I don't know how to put it all together!

I have a form with a textbox to enter a number and a button called "Create". When a user enters a number and clicks create the form gets populated with the number of buttons entered in the textbox and the title of the buttons are labeled by consecutive numbers. For example if you enter 5 the form will populate with 5 buttons labeled button1, button2, ...button5. When you click on these newly created buttons a messagebox will popup stating the buttons name. Basically I need to know how to create events and populate them with code I guess dynamically.
