Aug 4, 2011I have an asp:table which I want to exported to excel. One of my fields are alpha numeric and when exported to excel the leading 0s are stripped off. After going through this thread: Validation (CSS 2.0): 'mso-number-format' is not a known CSS property name I would like to use the css method "mso-number-format:@;.But the css is not exported to excel. I just tried to test it with simpler css things like bold font etc but its not getting carried over. I can see that if I surround my asp:Label with tags this change gets carried over to the excel but not the css bold . Other solutions in other thread does not work for me as ="00111" shows up as desired in excel but in the web form it shows up as ="00111" which is not what i want.

Mar 31, 2009I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?

Instead, I want to insert the data from the dataview as a bulk insert on to the excel file. I'm not sure how this changes things when trying to extract the tables. I've found the folders where SQL-notepad looking files are contained but am not sure what my next step should be. TBH i dont know what version of Microsoft VB.Net framework is used but the system is quite old and was made in 2001. If you haven't noticed from my poor phrasing i'm a bit of a newb when it comes to programming. If there is a particular programming code i have to put in i wouldn't really know where to put it.

Everything is OK when I run this function for the first time. But when I try to run it the second time I get method range of object _global failed error.Also I've noticed that first execution creates excel process that is in my process list even after I close excel. Second execution creates second process and after error when I close excel both processes are gone.Third execution creates no error fourth creates errors .... and so on

Export Datatable - Access Table Just Isn't Being Populated?
Apr 16, 2010I'm having some trouble trying to export a datatable to Access. I've built an Access DB and Table identical to the datatable that I'm trying to export using ADOX.Now using and OLEDB connection I'm trying to populate that table. The following code works just fine in another app written in 2005 but not in 2008 for some reason.
Basically I'm bringing in the empty Access table into a dataset.Filling that table with the rows from the export datatable.Then running the dataadapter's update method to send the data to Access.The problem is the da_a.Update doesn't seem to work. No errors, the Access table just isn't being populated. I checked my before and after counts. I know that the datatable is being populated. It's just not landing in Access.

May 16, 2011I'm running into a bit of a roadblock here. I have tried to search the web/forums for answer for last several hours to no avail and I'm not the expert VB Programmer.However, I was able to write an app to do the following:
1) read Outlook emails for particular emails containing xml link in which I was able to download the file and save to my hard drive.
2) opened the Excel spreadsheet to run the macro which import those XMLs into existing XLS spreadsheets to refresh the data.
3) Those XLS spreadsheets are linked in my MS Access in which I join all four XLS sheets to create one report via Query which I have created in the past prior to this app development.
I have manually done a File Export of this query via ALT+F then E and what I'd like to do is to either take control of menu commands OR alternate method of performing a File Export to a new Excel spreadsheet (version 2003).I've seen two different methods, one via DoCmd OutputtoFile and another is TransferSpreadsheet.Here's my Access coding I have in my VB 2010:

May 9, 2012I was using ContentType="application/vnd.ms-excel" on my web site to display a datatable in an excel workbook on the client. It worked great. Now that I have upgraded to Office 2007 and vb.net 2010, I get a warning saying that the file is in a different format than specified by the file extension (.xls). I googled new ways of exporting data to excel, but have yet to find a good example. I usedMicrosoft.Office.Interop.Excel which worked great, except I read that you are not supposed to use this on a web server.

Jun 14, 2010What I need to get done here is not a GUI, like the SQL Import and Export Wizard, which can be run from the SQL (2000) Enterprise Manager only, but a code that I can run from within the Visual Basic For Applications IDE from Microsoft Excel 2003, maybe in the form of a module, class or userform or a combination of all three. The best that I have come across so far, was a class that first checks if the worksheet is in a database formattable condition, then creates the database, if it does not exist, a table and then transfers the data from the worksheet to the table.
I have tried the Access 2003 TransferSpreadsheet method, but that does not solve my purpose, because I want to move the data from Excel to Access, starting from the creation of the database itself.
