I'm using Visual Basic Express 2008 (VB.NEt). I've created a project which connect to a Microsoft Access Database (OLEDB) & displays the records using textboxes in the windows app.
I need to add a button which exports the database to a fixed length text file. Does anyone know the code I would use to do this?
I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?
I'm having some trouble trying to export a datatable to Access. I've built an Access DB and Table identical to the datatable that I'm trying to export using ADOX.Now using and OLEDB connection I'm trying to populate that table. The following code works just fine in another app written in 2005 but not in 2008 for some reason.
Basically I'm bringing in the empty Access table into a dataset.Filling that table with the rows from the export datatable.Then running the dataadapter's update method to send the data to Access.The problem is the da_a.Update doesn't seem to work. No errors, the Access table just isn't being populated. I checked my before and after counts. I know that the datatable is being populated. It's just not landing in Access.

i have a comma delimitted text file that i need to add three fields and update the contents of those three fields and then save the text file.
right now i bring the file into ms access and alter the table to add the fields and then update them but i don't know how to export the access table back into a comma delimitted text file.

The first time i ran the code, it caused no error but no records where loaded into the table. The second time it causes the OleDbException "Table 'TEMP' already exists." The text file is comma delimited and it has exactly the same number of columns of the TEMP table.
I am trying to import tab delimited text file to access table. The below code WORKS very well for csv file. when I try the same for tab delimited text it it importing all the fields into one column of the access table and combining the header files as one column.
How can I change the delimiter when writing my Access table to a text file? I was hoping it would be as easy as adding a similar option like we do for HDR=No; maybe Delimiter=|

I run a report of nearly 10 pages in Ms.Access, included in with various conditions. When I export text to Ms.Word, the text is not justified but is left aligned. Is there any possibility of getting text aligned at export.
I'm creating a small application that will export the record from database to excel format (.xls) and import the record from excel as well. i have this code below i dont if this the right approach but im getting the error. Im using emulator btw. error :"The process can not access the file 'My Documents est1.xls' because it is being used by another process." Code: I'm still figuring out about import function any ideas?
I have a variable (double) that is constantly update in real time with data from an analog input. I would like to write this data as it comes in to a txt file. When I stop my acquisition of data from my analog input, I should have a txt file with all that data stored on my computer wherever I want it. The way I'd like that txt file to be laid out is like so:

And so forth. As you can see I would also like to write the time for each data. This depends on my Timer interval which the user can set. The default is 50ms. So by default, y1 y2 y3 would be 0, 50, 100. How would I generate such a text file?

I have been able to export data from a query to the xlsx file..howerver those fields which are currency in my sql server 2005 table are currency are showing up in the spreadsheet as text. The column mappings are correct when I look at it in connection manager.
Also Is there also a way to create a new worksheet each time the export is run or does the file have to be already named?

I have text boxes binded to table from dataset. I make changes, i save changes.. then I open database with access, i can see changes...everything is ok... Then I open application again, changes are there, everything is ok. Then I close application and go to smoke.. when I come back and open application , the new data is gone. what's happening?
