i have a comma delimitted text file that i need to add three fields and update the contents of those three fields and then save the text file.
right now i bring the file into ms access and alter the table to add the fields and then update them but i don't know how to export the access table back into a comma delimitted text file.
how to store CSV & Text file to an Image Field in SQl table. the table is using by some other application that's why i could not change the field data type.

The first time i ran the code, it caused no error but no records where loaded into the table. The second time it causes the OleDbException "Table 'TEMP' already exists." The text file is comma delimited and it has exactly the same number of columns of the TEMP table.
I am trying to import tab delimited text file to access table. The below code WORKS very well for csv file. when I try the same for tab delimited text it it importing all the fields into one column of the access table and combining the header files as one column.

Its a League Organizer, basicly ive started it off with 16 teams and end up with 1(winner) 16 box's on the far left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1. the 16 box's have "Team 1" "Team 2" etc... ive put a new/clear/open/save button in that order.
BUT this is my problem..when i save(Save Button) the text file saves all the text wrong it ends up like this...Team 1Team 2Team 3Team 4 Etc...
But i want it to save like this

Team 4
Etc...

I have another text file called header.txt which need to match its value with the value of Drill.txt file then overwrite value from Drill.txt to header.txt. But i dont want to insert the Excel sheet as a whole rather i want to insert the record in my database table Row wise.Inserting the records is not the only thing but my major issue is i want to check and compare the Primary Key column of my Table with the Column in my Excel.
Suppose Table1 is my Sql Database Table,and RegistrationNo is the Primary Key Column.Similarly there is also a column of Registration Number in my Excel Sheet.
Now before inserting each record the RegistrationNo column should be compared.If the a registrationNo in the excel sheet say RegistrationNo 112 is already present in the table then it should not Insert the record and if its not present then it should insert.
Also the other issue is the number of columns in my Database table are more than the number of columns in my excel Sheet.So the columns that are not present in the excel sheet should be set to NULL while inserting the record in the Table.
My company is making thousands of products now, every one of them have several test report in excel files. I am thinking about putting all of them into a microsoft sql database,
1. Is it wise to do so? I think a sql database is a lot easier to manage.
2. Can I save or convert the excel file as one data in a table? How could I do it? I only see a image type for data type. Surely I expect to retrieve the excel file through ASP.Net website if necessary.oh, some additional info, every excel file is not big, but it contains pictures inside sometimes.
I have text boxes binded to table from dataset. I make changes, i save changes.. then I open database with access, i can see changes...everything is ok... Then I open application again, changes are there, everything is ok. Then I close application and go to smoke.. when I come back and open application , the new data is gone. what's happening? View 4 RepliesI have this Quiz software that lets you create online multiple choice quizzes which are great for studying (I am in grad school and I'm trying to use everything I can to learn). So the Quiz software is great but it only lets you input questions by hand, one by one. I took a look at the .xml file that the quiz program spits out and came up with the idea to try and make a converter so that I can import many questions at once. I was hoping to try and solve this limitation by doing the following:
Take a .doc that say a tutor gives us with a bunch of practice questions, and then take that into Crimson Editor, and then format it so the question is on line 1, the multiple choice answers are on lines 3,4,5, and 6, (for the next question, the question would be on line 11, and the answers on lines 13, 14, 15, and 16, and so on) and then take that saved .txt file into my program, hit the generate button, and it will spit out the .xml file, and then import that into the quiz software to generate the online quiz.

I figured out how to open a text file by watching simple youtube tutorials, but I don't know how to have it generate the stuff and have it show up in the bottom text box. I know how to do the coding to convert the txt to proper xml code but I don't know how to be able to save the contents of the bottom text window to an xml file.
