I am making a tree-view on run-time. Inside the tree-view I would like to add submenu to a context menu.Say I have 4 items in a given context menu and 4th being another sub-menu. View 1 RepliesI am having a problem with data in a combobox not being refreshed (using VB.net 2005 by the way). Right now I have a windows application with several forms. I have a Template form that contains the cboActivity combobox. This combobox is filled with data from a SQL database. I also have an Activity form. This form allows me to enter new activity information and save it to the database. If I load up the Template form, click the cboActivity combobox, the Fill event is triggered and my combobox is filled with the activity data from the database. But if I leave this form open, go to the Template, add new activity information, and save it...when I go back to the Activity form the combobox has not been update to contain the newly added data. Is there a way I can force the Fill event to fire every time I click the combobox?

I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?

View 2 RepliesI have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
So, the form remains open without trigger Button Click event.

Using VB Net (2005, Access (2003) in Windows Forms searching on the net for trying to understand how to fill a DataTableRow from a double click in a Dgvrow. Situating my problem, in my Windows Forms app. I have 2 DataTables and 1 typed DataSet, first DataTable name tblProduct with aprox 1000 rows, second DataTable name tblChosenProduct which is empty(no data), also there are 2 DataGridView controls, first Dgv name dgProduct bound to tblProductBindigSource, second Dgv name dgItems unbound.
At Form load dgProduct is being fill, then as I double click in one of the Dgv dgProductRow I am filling the first row of my second DataGridView name dgItems unbound, all of this is working fine. Now what I would like is to be able is to fill my empty dataTable "tblChosenProduct" meaning adding a new row every time there is a double click, so it can be use later on in a next Forms. [Code]

I am currently trying to develop a program where you click on a datagridview row and then at the bottom of the window there is a button called "Modify."Once you hit this button, another window will pop open to where the user can modify the information on that specific datagridview object.I want the program to fill in what has already been entered so the user can go back and make changes if need be.I understand that datagridview has it's own update commands, but when I created by table adapters and everything, it did not create them.I am not sure if there is a way to create the update command manually, but this is the best way to explain it.

The code gets the number of total records and displays that number on the form.Here is the problem ....When the .fill statement is executed, control reverts to the form and any statement AFTER the .fill event is not executed.I have tried to stick the remaining lines of code into some other form event with little success. View 2 RepliesOn a Windows Form in .Net 3.5 I have created a menu object and populated it with ToolStripMenuItems. One of these items has a DropDown object attached. The DropDown should appear when the mouse hovers over the parent ToolStripMenuItem and disappear when the mouse leaves the ToolStripMenuItem unless it is "leaving" the parent by entering the parent's DropDown.Also, I don't want the DropDown to automatically close when the user makes a selection in it, so I have set its "AutoClose" property to False.
Getting the DropDown to appear was easy. I just set up a handler for a "MouseEnter" event on the parent ToolStripMenuItem. But I'm stuck trying to make the DropDown disappear at the right time. If I set up a handler to close the it when the mouse leaves the parent ToolStripMenuItem, it becomes impossible to use the DropDown, because moving the mouse into the DropDown means "leaving" the parent ToolStripMenuItem, and so the DropDown closes as soon as the user tries to hover over it!
I haven't been able to figure out how to detect if the mouse has really left the whole ToolStripMenuItem / DropDown assembly (in which case the DropDown should close) or has only "left" the ToolStripMenuItem by entering the DropDown (in which case the DropDown should not close).This seems like a common design - a drop down that appears / disappears when the mouse hovers over / leaves the parent element - so how is it normally done?

like if there are 4 fields in grid : emp_id , name , age , salary
and id column is of type combobox then on selecting the particular emp_id from the list , its coressponding name get displayed in the same row and then user can enter the other fields.similarlly when the emp_id get selected in the 2nd row of grid then 2nd row column "name" get filled.
