.net - Implementing A Dynamic Submenu In .Net?

On a Windows Form in .Net 3.5 I have created a menu object and populated it with ToolStripMenuItems. One of these items has a DropDown object attached. The DropDown should appear when the mouse hovers over the parent ToolStripMenuItem and disappear when the mouse leaves the ToolStripMenuItem unless it is "leaving" the parent by entering the parent's DropDown.Also, I don't want the DropDown to automatically close when the user makes a selection in it, so I have set its "AutoClose" property to False.
Getting the DropDown to appear was easy. I just set up a handler for a "MouseEnter" event on the parent ToolStripMenuItem. But I'm stuck trying to make the DropDown disappear at the right time. If I set up a handler to close the it when the mouse leaves the parent ToolStripMenuItem, it becomes impossible to use the DropDown, because moving the mouse into the DropDown means "leaving" the parent ToolStripMenuItem, and so the DropDown closes as soon as the user tries to hover over it!
I haven't been able to figure out how to detect if the mouse has really left the whole ToolStripMenuItem / DropDown assembly (in which case the DropDown should close) or has only "left" the ToolStripMenuItem by entering the DropDown (in which case the DropDown should not close).This seems like a common design - a drop down that appears / disappears when the mouse hovers over / leaves the parent element - so how is it normally done?

I am making a tree-view on run-time. Inside the tree-view I would like to add submenu to a context menu.Say I have 4 items in a given context menu and 4th being another sub-menu. I have an existing menu structure created at design time. During runtime, I want to add a submenu to one of the already existing menu items created at design time.How do i add a dropdownitem at runtime to an already existing menu item? How do I refer to that existing menu item?All positings I found so far either create a main menu item and directly create the submenus. Apparently, the reference to the main menu item was somehow established.

i have created a dynamic tabpage and a dynamic tablelayoutpanel inside it then added dynamic textboxes and labels inside the tablelayoutpanel...the thing is , i am having a problem on how to access the value of those textboxes and labels and add them as new columns in the new table(tagpage) in mysql database, i can already create the table in the database but i cant add the new columns in it. heres the code for accessing the values of the labels and textboxes

Naturally VB.NET variables will be used in place of the SQL local variables.My problem is this: All of the conditions after "WHERE" are optional. In that a query might be made that uses one, some, all, or none of the conditions. V.PropertyID and V.Value can also appear any number of times.In VB.NET I can make this query easy enough by simply concatenating strings, and using a loop to append the "V.PropertyID/V.Value" conditions.I can also make a Stored Procedure in MS SQL, which is easy enough.However, I want to accomplish this using LINQ.

Ive managed to dynamically create a form, and dynamically create a timer, but i have not been able to create the timer on the dynamic form. Specifically, i need to be able to have the timer itself create another form with a timer. (I realize that this would create a new form every interval on the timer, that is what i want to do)
1. A way to add the timer to the dynamic form, and maintain the timer sub on my main form.
2. A way to create the whole thing over (dynamic form and timer) through the previous dynamic form and timer.
I was thinking i could use a collection/array to store the forms and timers, but i'm still having trouble figuring out how to add entire forms or timers into a list. (A timer is not considered a control, so i cant use a controlcollection...)

I have a form that i need to be 100% Dynamic. So it could contain 10 labels maybe 100 who knows.
When you hover over a label there will be a different contextmenustrip to appear for each and every label. So all the contextmenustrips are Dynamic and contain 1 option maybe 2 options even 3 or 4 up to the users settings.
My problem is not creating a handler for when the user clicks on the contextmenustrips options. The problem is knowing which one of the options for that contextmenu was clicked!!

OK, I'm trying to display tooltip text for a dynamic edit box. Well, at least I'm trying to.
On my form, I've got a tool tip control which I've conveniently named ToolTip. My edit box displays OK. But, what I want to do is when the user hovers their mouse over the text box, I want the tool tip to display some text.
I think there are two problems that I'm having. I'm not convinced that I'm properly addressing a dynamic text box name. Ideally, I would want to be able to refer to the text box (but using a dynamic variable that will contain the prefix of the name). To hardcode, I would want to be able to achieve (not in this example but in theory): ABCDEFGt_0300.Text = "hello"

I have a passport size photograph. In that I want to implement a fade effect on image border. The fade parameter we pass would be the pixel width and we require to fade image border such that fade depth is decided by this parameter.
Note:- I am not using any controls to hold this image. Customer will upload the images in the applications and we will modify the above required and send them through email it is going to be console application. any WPF or VB Controls to implement this.

As I design my system using VB.NET with SQL Server/T-SQL I'm always struck by what seems to me an obvious gap, namely VB Class Properties. Say I have a table Employee with columns: [code]In VB I might have a class like:[code]So my property SpeaksAForeignLanguage depends on two fields currently. Perhaps someday this will change and more fields or conditions might come into play. THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON for using properties.Now if I need the equivalent of my property in SQL for whatever reason there's no way to do it other than to recode some SELECT statement using the two Knows... columns.

I am working on a plugin architecture and after some reading I have settled on one. The host class will be implemented in C# as well as some of the plugins for that host. The issue I am having is that some of my team uses VB.net. im trying to implement a search function to my booking program, wich retrieves data from a SQL database. I have the screan all set up and all the variables at the ready, the only problem is, im not sure how to execute it in a sqlcommand line.
I've got all the fields that are required, such as date, time but i also have two optional options, Room Type and Room Capacity.
How would i write a sqlcommand to search for available rooms that meet the criteria for the room to be booked?
