Oct 9, 2010I'm trying to play a music file. When I went to add reference and clicked on Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.dll, it won't load. How do I resolve this problem?
Is this the preferred method for playing audio files?

Sep 2, 2010I am having problem with Visual Studio 2008.... When i add the Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library from COM References, and just run the blank form, it runs perfectly.... But whenever i declare anything related to ADODB like dim con as new ADODB.Connection, then after that it gives me error and doesnt run the project. A first chance exception of type 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException' occurred in mscorlib.dll. After that if i comment that like (declaration), then error goes........ I tried uninstalling each and every component and VS as well but the error doesnt goes....i am using Windows 7 x64. The same is working in Windows XP x86 in my virtual machine..... as i am not able to start my project

May 22, 2011I'm developing an application, where I want to show a video and afterwards resume working. However, It seems that the event handler isn't working proberly. The video starts to play, the way I have it expected, however after finishing no message box shows.

DirectX AudioVideoPlayback And Selecting A Device And/or Panning?
Jul 20, 2011Currently using VS2010, DirectX 9, Winforms, .Net 3.5, VB.I'm creating an application that will play MP3 files through the left and right channels of a sound card. It will also need to play another MP3 file through the centre/rear channel when triggered.I'm currently using DirectX Audio class to play the MP3 files which works fine, but I can't see a way of selecting the device or channel that each sound stream is sent to.I've looked at a few libs such as OpenTK and BASS.Net. BASS.Net seems promising, but I need to try to avoid the license fee if possible.

May 25, 2010I have a menu which reads file info, but for some reason, when I open a video that I KNOW is 1280x720, the width and height come up as 1292x758.
Edit:
When I open a video which is 640x480, it says it's 656x518
That, and an extra preview box pops up due to:
labFR.Text = "Frame rate: " & Strings.FormatNumber((1 / AudioVideoPlayback.Video.FromFile(labinput.text, True).AverageTimePerFrame), 3)
This needs to be playing so I can get the frame rate, but how to I close it once I have the frame rate?

Windows 7 Can't Find DirectX9 Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll?
Apr 9, 2009this error seems to be an error on Microsoft's part with Windows 7 and DirectX9. DirectX11 on Windows 7 should be able to run DirectX9, but it says it can't find the assembly called "Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll". I know for a fact that he can play Assasins Creed on Windows 7 which uses DirectX9.. Why does that game work but not my application? I'm using VB.NET btw.

I have come across code samples that use "Microsoft Internet Controls" and "Microsoft HTML Object Library", and I can make them available references in VBA, and available methods and fields etc. show when writing code, but I cannot find any documentation for these APIs. Does it come with MS Office on the CDs (if so, where?), or is it available over the Internet somewhere?

Microsoft COM References Vs 3rd Party?
Feb 17, 2012I'm still new to most of this but I seem to be finding that while you can load the Microsoft Reference Libraries at no charge, I'm told they are the slowest method to use.I have tested Gembox and only read about others. Is it worth the effort to deploy these 3rd party platforms, even if I'm working with small data sets, for the moment at least? Speed is one thing but when you're talking about 2 seconds vs 0.2 seconds, it's not worth $900 per seat.
Are there other 3rd party references which are Open Source, or no cost, etc...I would like to hear what the rest of us are doing on this?
Project References To Newer Framework Library And Does Not Compile?
Jun 29, 2010I've been passed a solution that has a vb.Net 2.0 project that references to a .Net 3.5 library. The library compiles with out problem but the vb project does not. It complains of missing objects which are in the library which are correctly added in the imports. Also I see a yellow yield sign next to the reference library also when I add the reference it complains of the framework version difference. Any help is apritiated. Also I'm using VS10. Imported the projects with no errors. A colleague has this working on VS9.

My problem is that when I go to Project tab -> Add reference -> COM tab, there should have been "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library" on the list, but for some reason It's not on the list. Then I googled, and found out that the location of "DAO360.DLL" is "Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDAO". After clicking on Browse tab, I browsed to that location, and I guess I added reference on another way.This is the code that I used before for connecting to Access, but for some reason It doesn't work this way on this PC.

Oct 8, 2011I'm currently doing a project that includes access 2010 My question will be what driver can I use for an access 2010 *.accdb type file? For a *.mdb it works perfectly well with

But, when I changed the mbd to accdb:

It resulted in errors:

Example there are 6 USB ports on my motherboard what code would I use to find their reference like, port 1 is called 0 and port 2 is called 1. I want a user to select a designated port and save the selection to a config file so that whenever the user plugs in a removable diskdrive into that specific port a dialogue box will popup asking the user if they want to backup their designated folder (path will also be saved in config file) to that removable diskdrive. I know how to do everything like copying the folder to the diskdrive and all that I just need a code snippet to find the system reference to the USB ports.

The issue now is that sometimes the desired text within a document has been marked for deletion and appears as tracked change within the document.
