i coded some visual basic codes on visual studio 2010, now my friend cannot view the in his visual studio 2008.. is there any method that can save it into compatible method, so my friend can view the codes also?

However, when I open the the Tiff file in a picture box in my app. I can only view the first page. So, my question is how can I view multiple pages of a Tiff file in a picture box?

But I get an error then I added .tostring in the end and with luck I got something like listviewritem {Jhon}but I only want jhon. Dont want to add trim or delete?
I started a forms solution in VB 2008, created a datasource to an access database (2010) and used the datagrid view to display the data. 3 fields in the access database are lookup fields with 2-8 values each, typed in by me, since the linking to other fields did not work. This is not working either. When I change the column to combo-box or not, those values, typed into access, are NOT showing up in the datagrid. the combo box has its drop down arrow but the value fields are empty.

View 3 RepliesNot sure what I did here. However it seems to work.. Yet what happens is I must go into the List View hit Add. Then Hit Add again to make it able to fill out the text boxes. What should I do to correct the double click of add button? My text boxes are not enabled in properties if that is a key.

I have 2 questions:Will the 'old' controller objects still be in memory? Seems this could be a serious memory management issue after a lot of changes. It was my own decision to implement the factory in a module. My examples did not do this.
I have written a function which logs into an FTP server and recursively lists all of the directories within a given folder into an XML string (example below). I basically want to parse this into a listview item in the format as follows "Level1/level2/level3/level4" (standard file path). I have given an example of the xml below. How would I go about achieving this?
I have set up an xmltextreader, and then using a do while xmltextreader.read() I can check the current level of the node and add it that way, but it tends to only work half the time - is this the best approach?

I have a datagridview on a form with a date column. (column0)
I am trying to sort this by date desending but it will only sort by the day (dd) and not the whole date (dd/mm/yyyy) which leaves the months and years unsorted.

I have been told " Make sure the Date column is a date type and not a string " which i have taken as the access database column type. I have set this as Date but it still won't sort the column in datagrid view by the whole date.

View 1 RepliesI have been working on an app that was basically a vb6 app but had to be changed and I did it all using VB 2008. works well, great. One of the problems that I had was to work on different groupboxes or frames. Since they are layered on top of each other, working on one frame would mess up the others. Eventually it all went okay. but now if i want to add another item in the menu and hence add another groupbox (or frame) in the same app - it would definitely be a nightmare.

I am working on an application using Visual Basic Net 2008, and which will be distributed to users using Click Once via a CD.
There is a PDF file that I want to give the User access to, as needed.
My problem is that I don't know where the file should be located so that the User can simply click a menu item. The code to view the PDF is relativelysimple but I'm not sure where the file should be so that I can code it properly and make sure that Click Once picks up the location.
The code to view the PDF is System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("C:/Folder/file.pdf")

There is no editor available for 'file path here'. Make sure the application for file type (.vb) is installed. This is the error that I get when I try to open a project I did a while back in VB. I tried a C# project and I can open the form for viewing fine, but for some reason VB won't work? I really don't want to do a repair on the whole application as it takes a while and I'm not even sure I have the ISO right now.
