Now I wanna set when user click on this button to delete a employee (for example) then the datagrid that i have in my application will not show the data of the deleted employee but in the background, the employee haven't been deleted from database.The employee only will be deleted from database when the user click on SAVE button.I know this application have to use RowState but how?

Permenant Update / Insert SQL Server CE Database
Apr 15, 2012I am using VB.NET 2010 and SQL Sever CE 3.5 database. I insert some data into my database (SDF file) and I can do any all manipulations with those data. But I cannot see those data in the data table using Data Source or Server Explorer in Visual Studio. Even If I check it once in Server Explorer, all data in the database will be deleted.

Jun 8, 2009I have made a small form where I have bound textbox with records from database.Although my code for inserting and updating the record seems fine and working. But when I view the database, tables i see no inserts/updates made there. But When I run my application again, I see the records in the bound textbox but only for some seconds (for around 1 and half minutes), although they are not shown in the database (tables) actually.
When I close the application and run again it after 1-2 minutes there are no more records bound to the textbox, since no records at all.How can this be possible. I don't have any idea what's going on.

Dec 7, 2011I have looked through the entire internet (well that's what it feels like) to find this out.Tables - Authors and Titles add new title must be linked to an author, so I need to check that the author exists, if so, update the titles table with the user data from the textboxes. If the author does not exist, I need to insert the author first & last name into the author table, then the title info into the title table.this is in VB, using ASP.NET, and my database is a file, I'm not using SQL server, just Visual Studio 2008.

Ive created the form and successfully connected all text boxes etc. Using the code, I have managed to open the database and fill the dataset. However when I BIND the Datagrid datasource to the Dataset, I can only see the COLUMN NAMES in the datagrid and not the rows or the data. How to Insert, Update and Delete data. Form Load - Insert Or Update Data
Nov 10, 2009I have a project in which i have a form in which there is add button to add pages. In form load the last entered page populates all the fields. Now thing is if user edits the values in controls it has to update the db with those fields and if the page doesn't exist in db it has to insert.
Here is my code

I initialized a global variable x and set its value to 0 in page load and in add button click to 1. Depending on x value it either inserts or updates the db in form closing and add button click. Now whats happening is If the user clicks on add button the page increments but if user doen;t enter any values and tries to close the empty form, value of x =1 and it tries to insert but as there are blank fields cmd.executenonquery throws an error.
"The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data."
What should I do so that it doesn't give an error. I am using access db.I even checked in db Except for primary key(pageno) all other fields have "allow zero length" as YES & "required" to NO.

After it adds the row to the SQL database, it deletes it from the Access Dataset, and updates the Access Database. Sometimes double rows seem to get inserted into the database, so I'm thinking there is an error in my logic somewhere here.

May 20, 2010I am writing an application that does a number of different things with data downloaded from hardware which is monitoring the power used in my home and produced by my PV Solar array. I have run into a roadblock early on, because I cannot seem to get new data into an Access database that I have linked to my application by means of a DataSet. I have checked the DataAdapter's InsertCommand, DeleteCommand, and UpdateCommand definitions (created by the DataSet Wizard), and they seem to make sense, and nothing is throwing exceptions or otherwise making VB complain, but new rows added to the dataset are not being added to the database.

Jan 10, 2010I'm using visual studio 2005 to develop a mobile application. The database i'm using is sql compact edition. I know in normal sql like mysql, ms sql i can do a multiple insert of data but in sql ce it don't work!
I know of a long way that is to just create a createVendor1, createVendor2 as many time as i need to insert the data..but i don't think this is the right way to do it. this is what i have currently, if i remove the 2nd insert , it works. NOTE: There is a semi colon at the end of the insert but that is not the problem as removing it also doesn't work.
