Again the code clicks the button, but doesn't save the information so I figured it has something to do with the hidden value. I've never seen this problem before so I don't know where to go from here.
I have a div which needs to be hidden when the page first loads. If the user then clicks the "btnShowDiv" button, it should then become visible. The problem I have is that, once it has become visible I need it to stay visible. At the moment, whenever I click on an asp button the div reloads and becomes hidden again.
I have a grid column, of which, row X is hidden. I want to pick the values of each column's row x, perform some calculations at client side and display it in row y(through client side code). I am not able to pick values from hidden field in client side. Is there a way I can put those values in a client side array using javascript code, and use it for my calculations. Also when page posts back, the array should get updated with latest values.
I have a jQuery 'toggle' function on a table that I am using in conjunction with an asp.net gridview. I have pagination on my gridview and when I click on the next page, it posts back and therefore closes the Toggle/Table - I need a way of keeping it open. I have had a similar issue in the past with the Accordion function but resolved it via this method
I have a checkbox in datalist, after the button is clicked(postback) the value of checkbox is cleared. For example, if the checkbox in datalist is checked, when the button is clicked the checkbox appears unchecked when getting it's value
I have a datalist control that is not retaining it values during postback when the control causing the postback is outside of the update panel that the Datalist resides in. I have verified that viewstate is on for that usercontrol as well as all its parent controls. My basic situation is that I have a Datalist that contains a user control on a page. When the user selects several rows in a grid and presses a button, a datatable is filled on the backend and assigned to the Datalist which has its item template set to the UserControl.
On ItemDataBound I set specific properties in the control which customize the messages on that control to the specific item. This is then popped up using the AJAX Control Toolkit Modal Popup[ Extender. When the user presses Save the whole page posts back. Data is collected from the user controls and saved to the DB and the popup disappears. The issue I am currently having is that the DataList has 0 items when the save button is pressed instead of the appropriate number. THis issue just started appearing after we upgraded from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5.
I have an asp.net page with a button that adds an additional row to a gridview for input to the database. The gridview consists of 3 textboxes(template fields), when I add a row the information already entered somehow disappears on the postback. I want the button to add additional rows without disspelling the data in the other rows, until I hit the submit button. Here's my code
Private Sub AddNewRowToGrid() Dim rowIndex As Integer = 0 If ViewState("CurrentTable") IsNot Nothing Then
I'm running into a little problem with a gridview and a dropdownlist. I can get the dropdownlist to load initially, but when it autopostback's it returns with no value. I am populating the dropdownlist in the RowEditing sub. I'm guessing that I must somehow rebind in the RowDataBound sub, but don't know how to go about it. If I try to find the control's SelectedValue I end up with nothing.
VB Code
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If Not IsPostBack Then
Im sure this is a very simple and easy to answer question but I've been looking at this too long and being new to ASP I cant seem to find a solution that works.
I have an ASP calendar extender, I click it and the calendar displays as expected, the selected date appears in the textbox, but when the page then posts back I cant get the selected date value from either the textbox.text or the calendarextender.selecteddate properties, I tested this by trying to assign these values to a string variable in the page_load event.
I have a combo box that is tied to a binding source that loads a list of users from a table. Currently the list of users is a List of String object type. When a user selects one of the users from the drop down, a list is filtered down based on the selection. To do that I currently have to requery the User Table to grab the UserID column of the user selected, which seems a bit inefficient to me.
Is there a way that I can assign a custom object with two properties (UserName, UserID) and have only the User Name is displayed and when I have to filter the list, I already have the UserID, so there is no need to requery the database.
Having come from the MS Access IDE, I have used hidden text boxes to store information needed on a given form. Often they are data-bound and the program needs to reference the data but the end user does not need to, or should not, see them.
I am very surprised to find that in .NET, you cannot do this. Making a control visible=false should be a UI decision, but the value should still be programaticaly available. Am I just missing something, or is this truly a limitation in .NET?
i am working on vb.net.When i click a button in one of the row in the gridview, i am called a function to delete the data of tha row. it is working but it is getting postback.i have placed gridview inside asp updatepanel. How to prevent postback.
I have a situation where I want to evaluate a record to make sure it fits a specific set of criteria. If it fits the criteria, raise an alert message for confirmation from the user. I do not want to raise the popup unless the criteria matches.
I have a sample application, in which I am trying to load a text file in WebBrowser control. I have a html file through which I am calling Javascript function to open text file. But it is showing me error like; Cannot find 'file:///C:/temp/test%2520page.txt'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct. File exist at this location and its name is; test page.txt. I am not getting what is happening.
The values for the hidden fields are already set. I want these value to open a window, in which the fields will be already filled using the values passed by this page. This code is working fine on Internet Explorer, but not on other browsers. Moreover, when I don't pass any value and just open the required window, it works on all browsers.
I have a calculator like program which has a function to export a string ('StringBuild') to notepad .The process start OK but it has a funny problem. When I run Process.Start it also keept running a sub that I had linked to one of the calculator buttons.I played around with the code but now it runs a hyperlink that I have on the calculator. I even tried adding an empty, hidden, button as the last item on the tabindex to see if that would work but it hasn't.
I'm converting an old VB form to .NET, and there a few Buttons which each have a corresponding ComboBox hiding behind them. The previous behavior was that you'd click the Button, and that would trigger the ComboBox behind it, which would then drop down a selection list. I believe the idea was to have a static color and text label (which cannot be a selectable option in the drop-down list), with the functionality of a ComboBox.
Now, in VB.NET, clicking on the Button (which is directly over the ComboBox in the form) won't trigger the ComboBox dropdown anymore. However, if I make the ComboBox visible enough to click on, it will trigger the ComboBox.TextChanged event, and show the drop-down (they're set to the DropDownList style). I've set the event handler to handle both that event and the Button event. I've tried Button.MouseDown, Button.MouseClick, and Button.Click -- none of which have worked.
I did find the SplitButton control option suggested here, which would probably do the job, but I don't want to have to integrate a non-native control for just 3 buttons. I don't really want to mess with the control template, either
I have a hidden web browser, two text boxes, and a button. I can add the login information to the forms on the web page, but how do I login? Heres my code so far
[Code]....
Basically I want to grab the ID of the sign in button (the name/id is SI) and click it. I've tried RaiseEvent(Click) and Click() but neither work...I'm not sure about the syntax and how it works in general....I don't even know if I'm doing it right.

I have a select box call 'ToLB' which takes in value items from another select box. I need to extract those selected values from 'ToLB' and print it on a label, this is how I do it but apparently it's not working as in no error message but nothing was printed to the label.[code]

I have a menu on my aspx page which looks beautiful. It's exactly what I need (found it here).
Problem that I have is this: I need (somehow) to kick off a button control from the javascript. I realize that in the example, the menu items are simply href links, but I'm wondering how I could possibly do a postback and kick off my Button1_OnClick event.
I have a button image made out of divs. When I click this I want to post back and redirect. What is the best way to do this and can it be done without using javascript?
Until then, everything is fine, but I want when the user clicks the submit button, the button will trigger another action that will save the comment in the database.
