Load A .rtf File Into A Rtb When File Is In The File System Editor?
Oct 17, 2010
Need to know the code in which to loadfile (.rtf) into a richtextbox via user-selection when the rtf file is within the setup of the file system editor under 'Program Files'. Have used the following code and it doesn't work....
CODE:
Me.RichTextBoxDisplay.LoadFile(Application.StartupPath &
"Application FolderGarman SoftwareKing James Version 1611OTGenesisChaptersGen Ch2.rtf")
when i login i want a menu that says to load or create new (already made) but i don't know how to load a file as a whole, i can streamwrite and read and also save file dialouge but i'm looking for somtting different.if i saved the info for the editor seprate from the login screen (2 different projects????)
I am trying to publish a program but when I run the setup I get an error saying I need to put WindowsBase v3 in the Global Assembly Cache which I can do using the File System Editor apparently. The Help says to access the file system editor go to "Editor" on the "View" menu in Visual Studio. But it isn't there.
I'm currently developing an editor for an AFL management sim.I want to be able to load three or four multidimensional arrays to the program, then save them to the same file. I tried the tutorial on here but got completely muddled up. Why can't it be easy like in VB6 When it was like 10 lines of code tops!
I have finished coding an application which I designed for people working in my office. When I started to install the application to computers at the office, I realized that, in some machines, application doesnt work properly. Although it worked for 15 computers perfectly, for 3 computers following error code is displayed:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog].
I am working on a VB Console Application that takes an Autocad drawing type DWG and converts it to a PDF using a shell command that calls a third party application. In this case, acmecadconverter.exe from www.dwgtool.com. Then the PDF that is created needs a unique watermark, so I call a second application for that called pdftk.exe from www.accesspdf.com/pdftk/.
Everything works as intended, except when I try file names that contain spaces. The file system object does not tolerate spaces in the drawing file name. For instance, the following command gives me a system.io.filenotfoundexception...
I have a WPF application that has 3 projects in the solution. I have the main menu, which is the actual EXE, a reporting DLL and the application files DLL which both are a WPF Class Library. I'm getting the System.IO error when I'm trying to use a 3rd party reporting tool from in the application files DLL. I have the 3rd party DLLs referenced and are set to copy local in my application DLL. Everything works fine if i reference the 3rd party reporting tool in the EXE project but I don't want to do that. I want my DLL to be stand alone so someone else can reference my DLL without having to add anything but my DLL.
I release an application and one of the end-users is telling me that they get this message:
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml.Linq, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.

The way that reads to me, there is a problem with their .net framework? Am I correct, or is there a problem with my code? I can't reproduce the problem, and many other people use the application with no problems.
I created a SQL application that synchronises with a SQLCE database when loaded. Works fine on my Dev machine but produces the following error on user machines:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Synchronization.Data, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. File name: 'Microsoft.Synchronization.Data, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91'
In my attempts to fix, I have:
1) Reinstalled SQL Compact Editon 3.5 on the client machines 2) Reinstalled .NET Framework 3.5 3) Installed Microsoft Sync Framework 1.0 (which puts the 'missing' DLL onto the machines).
This works fine, but now I have to use a specific user to access this file and I don't know how to include the user name, password and domain in the URI. Is it posible to add user credentials to the URI? Can I use another variant of Navigate method to accomplish this?
Before I begin I would like to mention that I am not a noob in VB, it's just I've never had to do anything this complex before. Basically what I want is to have a program that you can load a txt file in, have it copy key words, and paste it in a textbox so I can use it later on. So in this text file, there is a bunch of info, but I am only needing a certain part. Here is an example of a text file (actually a .dat file, but is easily read):
If I build the solution on a machine that HAS a license for ActiveReport then everything is fine. If I build the solution on a machine that DOESN'T have a license for ActiveReport I get:
Error 1 'Could not load file or assembly 'ActiveReports6, Version=6.1.2814.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc4967777c49a3ff' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515)' LC
On the machine that DOESN'T have a license for ActiveReport if I remove the above lines from the license.licx file then everything builds fine. I always thought that if the license couldn't be found then the unlicensed version will be used but it wouldn't kill the build. How do I get this solution to build on any machine whether it has a license or doesn't?
# TAG NAME = is saved to a file using the code below but when I load that same file back into a RichTextbox Control using additional code below, I get inconsistent results as I try to parse the text. Has anyone else had this problem?'Save the contents of the RichTextBox into the file.richTextBox.SaveFile(saveFile1.FileName, RichTextBoxStreamType.RichText);'Retrieve contents of File into RichTextBox control Dim logData As String logData = System.IO.File.ReadAllText(path + "\" + filenname);
I want my app to load a .exe file specified by the user, crypt it then save the crypted .exe file on a path also specified by the user. I need some guidance on this. First of all, I am currently using IO.filestream to store the .exe file. When I save the completed file (so far in development, that means a copy of the file as I haven't added encryption yet) the .exe file appear there alright, but without the icon (it has the standard/no icon instead) and it does not work. I tried outputting it to a .txt for examination and it was a bunch of tokens as one would expect. Here is the statements:
[VB 2008 express edition] i am doing a application data grid view bound data from MS access (.mdb) as my dataset. the dataset have 5 tables, each table consist of ID, Items, Rates, And Amount, i face some problem here:
a) cannot delete row from the table, (using binding navigator but error) b) how can make a opendialog to load the .mdb file dataset table in to the datagridview? c) how do i save table in the datagridview into the MS Access file ?
I want to load a csv file (A comma delimited text file) into a datatable. I found the OdbcDataAdapter Class which looks perfect, but it says it is supported only in version 1.1 of the .NET Framework.
Is there a better way to import a csv file into a datatable? the first line has the column headers.
I am using Visual Studio 2008, using version 3.5 of the .NET framework
I have an issue where I need to load a fixed-length file. Process some of the fields, generate a few others, and finally output a new file. The difficult part is that the file is of part numbers and some of the products are superceded by other products (which can also be superceded). What I need to do is follow the superceded trail to get information I need to replace some of the fields in the row I am looking at. So how can I best handle about 200000 lines from a file and the need to move up and down within the given products? I thought about using a collection to hold the data or a dataset, but I just don't think this is the right way.[code]....
My program will lunch when you double click a .rtf file but doesnt load the file. Can someoen help me on this. Ive tried everything, please do not tell me the website url... because i dont understand it. Ive read it, ive done it and my program wont lunch when i put in the codes they use. PLease dont just say it looks like the reg error, or something as simple as that.
I am trying to load a text file into a list box in order to be able to play the files see code below I have an error on this line Which states Error 1 Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to '1-dimensional array of String'.
Dim Open As New OpenFileDialog Dim myStreamReader As System.IO.StreamReader Open.Filter = "Text [*.txt*]|*.txt|All Files [*.*]|*.*"
I am developing an application that Monitors a specific folder for file changes such as modify deletion, update, etc. The only problem I have is , the application doesn't fire up File events.
A text file exists on my server machine which is constantly being updated (about once about 5 seconds). On my web page, I'd like a div to display this file live using jQuery inside MVC.
I have the jQuery timer working already, but the file isn't displaying. My plan was to get the jQuery to load a Controller Action every 5 seconds and have this action return a FilePathResult.
The script:
$(function () { var streamer = $("div.wrapper div.streamer"); //===
[Code]....
LiveStreamPath contains the path to the text file. I was thinking of creating a StreamReader in the Action instead. What sorts of implementations can I use to get this file to stream?
I have Project i need to recovery file System . And some information who Create that file , deleting , replace , Modifying . I need also return any file delete or replace .
I encountered the error:The process cannot access the file <full file path> because it is being used by another process.during System.IO.File.Delete(filename)I have opened the file using:pctPhoto.Image = Image.FromFile(filename)before I delete the file.

Once a user has selected a file with the open file dialog, how can I handle this action? For example, if the user has selected a .txt file and has opened it, how can it get the data from the file? How can it return the path that the user found the file in? Then, how can it save the file?I know that there is a OpenFileDialog.OpenFile() method, but I am also pretty sure this is not what I am looking for. I have also tried the ToObject method, but I probably messed up somehow.
Reading a .txt file in VB.net. My file path is C:UsersMyLilMulePepeDocumentsVisual Studio 2008Projectscurtain_calls.txt.
This is my line of Dim LoanOptionsFile As String = "C:UsersMyLilMulePepeDocumentsVisual Studio 2008Projectscurtain_calls.txt"
I can read the file when I run the program, but how do I write the file path so that someone else can download my program and file and read the file on their system?
I have a text file with exactly 2 lines! I can read the whole file with System.IO.File.ReadAllText, but this will return both lines! How should I get the 1st and 2nd line separately?
