you would think that this would be simple, but with some sample code i found i could only get it to load and not save, or it would be written for a datagrid and not a datagridview.
As I have no idea on how to retrieve access data at the specific location in the table, so I wrote VBA code t export the entire access database to a datagridview which is located in the form1. There's a column of datagridview contain complete address information of a image. I'm thinking a way to link image source (of form 2 or xaml file) to the the column so that the image will be displayed. is there any code to get cell value at the specific location in the table? In excel VBA, sheets("Sheetname").Cells(rownumber, columnnumber).value is used to get the cell value, but how about code for this case?

Then I have Form2 that add/delete data from a specific table in the database.My problem is, When I add data to the database, and save it, it work fine, But, it does not reflect on the main form, after I close Form2. Only when I exit the application, and open it again, it shows. Is there a setting or something I need to do to update/refresh the info added so I do not need to restart the application?

View 1 RepliesI'm attempting to create and populate a table in a new Microsoft Access (Jet) database using VB.Net 2008 Express under Windows XP Pro SP3. The database and table are being created properly, but loading the table proceeds VERY slowly. When I am loading the table, no complicating factors that might impact performance, such as indexes or table relationships have been defined. The table to be loaded is made up of relatively short rows consisting of three single byte columns, and one (four byte) integer column. I am loading approximately 16 million rows, and this is literally taking hours, while the same data can be interactively imported into Microsoft Access from a .csv file in minutes. I am trying to batch load the rows, 64K rows at a time, in order to avoid the overhead of individually transacting/committing each row individually, but suspect that I must not be doing something right. It connects and populates fine. I have a button for the user to "refresh" the datagridview. I cannot get it to correctly refill the dgv. I have tried setting the bindsource.datasource to Nothing along with the datagridview datasource, but I get an error that brings up the Visual Studio debugger with no real error message...

Apparently there is no selectedvalue, selectedindex or value as in a combobox to return the combobox value. What I need is to verify if the database value is 'true' and if it is then I need to set the comboboxcolumn with a specific value.
