Nov 23, 2011I am constructing a program, i am new to Visual Basic, but i have past programming experience. I was wondering if anyone knew how to form a loop that could...lets say calculate the answer when two numbers are added together,and it would repeat this thousands of times, etc. And if there is a way, would it be possible to calculate the time taken to complete this loop.

Oct 16, 2011A few years ago I have been busy creating this application but it didn't succeed, now Im coming back to it and similar problems occur. Basically I use SetPixel on a given window to draw a line, work fine, but the line goes away as the window redraws itself.The problem: I have been putting timers and threads on it to make sure the line is being drawn. Is there any way to make a loop to make a certain thing happen about 10-30 times without taking in too much memory/CPU?

now in my DataTable called "tablaLOGICA" i have 180.000 records as strings and later on in my program i have added 90.000 more strings in this DataTable. QUESTION..'which is the quickest way to update my "real" table in MySql? 'At the moment i make 90.000 INSERT whithin a loop, but it is so slow, it take more than half an hour !!!! is there any other way to do this INSERTs?

It only ever adds one record in to the table and then errors with Cannot add an entity that already exists.
Now it should enter 4 rows into the table, but I can't work out why the above gives me that error.
I've also tried having the db2.SubmitChanges() outside of the for each and it just inserts the last row.

If 1 is the number randomly generated then i would like the textbox N1 to to change its behaviour for example change background color. As you know the String.Empty value represents a zero length, or empty, string if the inputsales variable is empty, the loop condition evaluates to True and the computer process the loop instructions. *If on the other hand the inputsales variable is not empty, the loop condition evaluates to false and the computer skips over the loop instructions.
Based on the code I think it is the opposite: ...that while the inputsales value is not empty it should evaluate to true and process the loop and if it is empty it should evaluate to false and skip the loop?

Jun 24, 2011I have a button and text box. Every time I click on this button a number increments in the text box (textbox1). So far so good. Also on the form is another button called 'Submit' and three more textboxes. (textbox2, textbox3 and textbox4) What I want to do is every time I click on the submit button the value in textbox1 will be placed in the first textbox (testbox2) I will then increment the value in textbox1 and then hit submit again and the current value will be placed in textbox3 etc. The question I guess is how do I create a for - next loop that will increase the textbox?

Basically "aString" will keep updating if new data arrives to the server. This way does work, and keeps MsgBoxing every time I get new data, but I don't wanna use While, I need something else, because It won't run any other code, just keeps looping that. :/
