The intended output of the code is to update the listbox1 control at each iteration, but what really happens is it updates the listbox1 control after the entire loop finishes..Is there a way to update the listbox1 control as its intended by the code logic?
I have a for loop condition as below coding for looping to change word on label.text, but as a result, it just only display the last value.

This piece of code grabs a customers hire record using their hire ID and displays their details in multiple textboxes. It all works fine and well, however, I can only run it once. If I type in another customers hire record ID it just displays the first customers details that were materialised, which I assume is because the datatable has been populated and not refreshed based on the new hire record ID I've entered.

With this I can search a column of a datagridview for a match. It works all fine and well, until I insert a new record into the database at which point I refresh the datagridview to display the newly added record. After I do this, I can no longer search using the textbox. Once again, I'm not quite sure what to do to fix this issue.
Bit of a strange question but I have a refresh button which clears my screen but after clearing the screen the textbox2 get selected (even though its readonly) so would it be possible for no control to get selected or textbox1 to get selected after i have hit refresh?

View 4 RepliesIm trying and failing to do the following: I have 90 textboxes named N1, N2, N3, N4 etc. I am generating a random number from 1 to 90 on the press of a button. If 1 is the number randomly generated then i would like the textbox N1 to to change its behaviour for example change background color. Apart from a Massseeeeeev if statement is there no way to loop through all these textboxes until the number generated matched the number in the name of the textbox? I have a button and text box. Every time I click on this button a number increments in the text box (textbox1). So far so good. Also on the form is another button called 'Submit' and three more textboxes. (textbox2, textbox3 and textbox4) What I want to do is every time I click on the submit button the value in textbox1 will be placed in the first textbox (testbox2) I will then increment the value in textbox1 and then hit submit again and the current value will be placed in textbox3 etc. The question I guess is how do I create a for - next loop that will increase the textbox?

I have a VB.Net 2005 project, that has 136 textboxes. I have a button, that when pressed, should copy all of their content to clipboard. In order. Each Textbox has one letter in it.
Is there a way I can implement a loop into it, so for every TextBoxCount or something, it copys it into clipboard?

I would like to show that the computer is busy and not frozen during a long file transmitted over Serial Port.I have the following loop.The intention was to show one "*" for every line sent.

I can see the data sent on the Scope but the chain of "******...." show up after the transmission ends.The WHILE LOOP is actually working but the TextBox1.Text = "*" is not writing to screen.I would like to see the train of ******** same time as the transmission is active.The * is to show that the computer is busy and not frozen.Writing a copy of the actual serial data transmitted to screen is also another option that I can use.

Windows Forms, VB application... Forgive me in advance for this very elementary question but I am overlooking something really simple here. I would like to have a label show the current value of a variable as the for each loop runs.. I created a very simple Button Click event to figure out where its failing. As it is right now the value does not display until after the for each loop finishes running, which it should actually display the counter value each time it runs through... For clarity Orders have a foreign key field to the primary key of Customers, thus Customer is the parent and Orders is the child table of the relation. My application is a Windows Form application, and I add a dataset to the project, in which I drop the 2 tables, and the relations between the 2 tables is automatic added. Now I will om a form loop through the Orders table (witch is the Child table) and show in a textbox some fields of the Orders table and also the Name field of the related record of the customers table. Regarding binding a textbox fo a Orders field I do it this way,
