How can I make background window blur with code.just like when you open regedit in Vista or seven all background changes to black except the prompt window.I want to mimic this behavior but instead of just color black I want it to be the image of the background in blur view. How can I do this in VB 2008?
I want to make my mainform become blur when a new form is showed.I dont want use opacity property because it can't make mainform darker.I mean opacity only change opacity of form.
I do remember what I did but text in code windows became very blur.Another screens such as option, solution explorer are still very clear. How to fix it?I tried to reset to reset all setting but no luck.
the goofiest bloor function that exists in vb.net simillar to saying hello world! No blur hardness no sharp edges or any other settings everything should be default the easiest way to do it.
I have a login form and a Main Menu Form. I want that everytime I click Login (assuming that I'm in Main Menu Form) Main Menu Form will become blur then a small form for Login will pop up.
I tried using LockBits to blur images, since I heard it was faster, and there's no error, but there's no blur either. It doesn't do anything. The commented-out code is the code I had before using LockBits, and it works.
vb.net Private Sub BlurImage(ByVal img As Bitmap, Optional ByVal radius As Integer = 3, Optional ByVal blur_bounds As Object = Nothing) Dim bb As Rectangle
I'm using PrintForm which comes with PowerPack to print a form with a couple of Labels into it.But the letters appear a little blur and not clear at all, bad quality, I tried by increasing the size of the labels but the result was the same.Under the PrintForm parameters I only found one that could be relevant, the papersize but that doesn't helped too.
Is it possible to have code running in the background and still be able to use other parts of the program (i.e. firing other events). For example I have a instant messaging chat in my program and when the user has a new message then the display flashes from green to red as seen below
[code]...
But I still want to be able to continue using the other functions in my program despite having this code running in the background (which highlights to the user that he has a new instant message by changing the display background colour)How can I overcome this?
how to run code "in the background".As a form is loaded into memory I have the following code filling a listbox from a database table with this sub.I read in one of the documents about making code efficient that I could make this execute in the background. The list box is not needed immediately.
Private Sub getReleaseChoices() Dim da As New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter() Dim cn As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(gCnRefString) Dim ds As New DataSet()
I'm making a Shooter game like "1943" and "Jamestown". I was wondering how I would make the scrolling background to simulate moving forward and How would I make this efficient? I was thinking about using a animated GIF or to make a looping BitMap.
I'm looking for a configurable way to run some code on a background thread and I'm not too sure what the "best practice" would be. Currently I have something along the lines of:
Dim sendEmails = Sub() Dim emailToSend As New SendEmailRequest() TransferCommonValuesTo(emailToSend, request, sendingUser) usersToSendEmailTo.ForEach(Sub(u) [Code] .....
Is this a good way of implementing my requirement? This will be called from an ASP.NET front-end (although others are possible) and I am using Framework 3.5.
the user of my application is able to run a diagnostic tool which is part of my application. This diagnostic tool searches every file on the computer, logs the names, and if the my program is able to then the file will be read.
My program has other uses as well. If the user wants to do something else in my program then i want the diagnostic code to run in the background. I don't want this code to prevent users from using other features of my application since the diagnostic search does take time.
How do i do this? Threading? A background worker? If the anwser is Threading which i am pretty sure it is, how do i set up a thread? My computer has 4 GB of RAM - 2GB & 2GB so i know i am able to do this smoothly.
This is the Trackbar in MS Office Picture Manager, I can't make a transparent-background-trackbar like it, when I tried to make the background transparent, it say that "this control doesn't support transparent color", the trackbar also always behind the toolstrip (I chose "Bring to front" from context menu).
For my project I connect to a large number of variables in multiple Beckhoff PLC's. I connect to the PLC in the Form load event. But the first time connect to all plc's taking too long. The data from the plc's. be sent to my program can not cope with the private sub OnNotification. This is because the program is busy with making connections with various other plc's.If the program is fully launched it works ok, but I also want to start working properly.I solve it just with a timer and a counter. Each program cycle I make a connection, the next cycle the next etc.until all connections are made. This should be better.I would like background workers use to make the connections to the PLC's. bgworkers provide the connection. The main program is not blocked, and the incoming data from the PLC's can be handled properly In the form Load event I start the bgWorkers containing the code for connect and AddHandler. Unfortunately it will not work this way?

My problem is that I have two pictures once the first has scrolled to the left with the last bit of the image on the right side of the form I need the next image to start moving from the right, then when the first image is completely of the screen it moves back to the right side of the screen and waits for the end of the second image and then the process repeats. Here is the code I put together so far.
Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick If picBackGround.Left + picBackGround.Width < Me.Width Then
[code].....
This code does not do what I want it bugs up for some reason if you can change this code or give me entirely differen
in my program it has a log in system already done by myself and once logged in you can do whatever i have coded in if you understand my meaning . what i want to add to it is a timer that can be edited that runs as a standby timer like with what a screen saver does and logs out after inactivity for a specified time now i have no idea where to stat with this so if some one could put me in the right direction or an example would be great.so i need it to start a timer once the mouse is not moving and no keyboard keys are being pressed and terminate the timer once keyboard keys are being pressed or mouse is being moved it's for an update that i am releasing on my publishers website for my program?
How could i make it so the user can change the background on a form like he/she can choice from a list of backgrounds or add there own image as a background? also how could i make it so a button or a drop down button launches a form in the project itself?
I am making a useful sticky program, i know Windows 7 has a similar one built in but it doesn't function the way i want. Here is an image: As you can see, i am having problems removing the coloration of the background application window. How can i make that transparent without affecting the image? My second question is, how can i dock my application window to the right hand side of the screen?
I do have the User Control from a previous Visual Basic 6.0 project that allows certain colors to become transparent. But what I'd like to find out is, how can I make a certain color combination transparent using a User Control in Visual Basic 2008 Express?
For i = 255 To 1 Step -1 MyPanel.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(i,Color.Red) Next
This will make the background color fade to transparent. The problem is, I don't want only the background color to change.I want to change the visibility / opacity of all the controls inside that panel too..
I am using a background worker, it runs fine but it does not shows the result. i am using jmcilhinney source to work it out.. have a look.
VB Imports System.ComponentModelImports System.Text.RegularExpressionsImports System.NetImports System.IO Public Class WorkDialogue Private _result As Long = 0L Public ReadOnly Property Result() As Long Get Return Me._result End Get End Property Private Sub

And the button codding in other form:
VB Using dialogue As New WorkDialogue dialogue.ShowDialog()TextBox2.Text = dialogue.Result.ToString() End Using
