May 29, 2009I have made a borderless form, but i still wish to be able to drag it around the screen.
But i dont have a normal background, ive got an image that covers it. I wish to be able to drag this overlaying image around the screen. Ive found code examples that allow you to drag the form, but you have to acctually drag the form.... Not the image (i couldn't adapt any of them)

Sep 9, 2010I'm trying to copy/move (whichever works in the end) a picture from my resources in my program, to the startup path.
However, when i try it, it tells me that the file could not be found.
System.IO.File.Copy(My.Resources.Image, PATH, False)That will turn up with an error telling me that the value of type Bitmap cannot be converted to string. So i figured i would try to put a .ToString behind it, and then i'll get the File Not Found error.

Now what this would involve doing is importing an image so the program understands it, then finding that image on your screen (maybe through RGB colors). How exactly do you do this? What is the procedure?

How To Copy/move A File (image,accdb,...) Out Of Resources
May 12, 2012I am making a VB.NET application linked to a database. when you press the button 'generate' it is writes (fairly simple) webpages to a folder in your destkop. what I tried was adding a build-in uploader to my website, but my host didn't supported that. ok, not that big of a deal, and completely out of context but now let's get to the core of my problem;
I wanted to have an image in the resources (none made yet) and have it copied out the resources and placed along with the webpages (to use it as background image). I have tried a lot (clearly not everything or it would work) but I just don't manage to solve this. the problem is I need to be able to do this, since I want to have my .accdb in the resources to, so that it copies out when used an writes (an updated version) back to the resources and deletes the external file. but I never seem to manage to do this. I tried to read,write and other things it with IO and everything, just getting the message that it cannot be read. but I never seem to find how to copy/move it outside the program. the code I am using now looks like this:

Break When A Particular Variable Hits A Certain Value?

I've got a breakpoint on the line of code that writes something to the event log and I've made that breakpoint conditional so it only breaks when iCurrentScreen =1. However, whatever's setting it back to 1 I don't seem to be able to track down. Before I go putting breakpoints on every line of code that changes the value of iCurrentScreen . is there a way to tell the system to let me know when iCurrentScreen becomes 1 no matter where it happens?

Mar 2, 2011I have a ASP.NET VB form connected to a database. In the database, there is a field called TourCount. This count decrimates by 1 everytime a user submits a form.
When the TourCount reaches 0, all registrations must close. However, at the moment, TourCount continues to decrimate into negative numbers. When TourCount reaches 0, I would like a message to appear above the form saying "Registration Closed".
I have tried a few things, but I'm not sure where it's going. I don't receive a config error message, but it's never functioning correctly either. I'm not sure where or what type of script I should be using. My logic says, when TourCount is less than or equal to zero, display a text string via the id called "Message".[code]...

Mar 1, 2010I have a simple vb.net app written using MS Visual Studio 2008 with SP1 and .NET framework version 3.5. This app simply queries a MySQL table into a dataset, makes a csv file from that data and then uses Oracle SQL*LDR to load a local Oracle table. Nice and simple.
This app runs fine on just about any computer or workstation I have tested it on with no issues but when I move it to the workstation it will live on...it shuts down just before it hits the load event. I have tried to capture any errors but so far there do not seem to be any errors generated at any point...it simply terminates with no explanation.
I even went so far as to recreate the project from scratch and still got the same result. this phenomenon only seems to occur on the very pc I am expected to deploy to.
the only thing I know for sure is that it is getting at least as far as the declaration section of the form. Once it has dimmed all objects/variables/etc..it seems to just shut down.
