Bouncing Ball Game Application - Move The Paddle Left And Right ?

Apr 29, 2012

I have to make a bouncing ball game application. all the code is given to me except for code to move the paddle left and right, and code to start the game. i have to write an if...then statement in a keydown event handler that tests whether the user presses the s key. i then have to add an elseif statement that tests whether the user pressed the left-arrow key and whether the paddle's horizontal position (rectangleX) is greater than zero. if the paddle's horizontal position equals zero, the left edge of the paddle is touching the left wall and the paddle should not be allowed to move farther to the left( i am not sure how to do this part). if the conditions are true in the if then statement, the paddle's x-position should decrease by 10. then i need an elseif statement that tests whether the right arrow key is pressed and whether the paddles x-coord is less than the width of the form minus the width of the paddle. if it equals out the paddle should not be allowed to move farther right. if both conditions are true the paddles x-coordinate is increased by 10

This is the code i have written:

Private Sub BouncingBallForm_Keydown(ByVal sender As Object, _
ByVal s As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) _
Handles BouncingBallForm.Keydown

New Years Ball Drop - Timer To Count Down From 30 And Reach 0 When The Ball Is At The End Of The Pole?

Apr 5, 2011

I have a this program I have to write but I have no clue where to even start.New Years Ball Drop?Design a program that replicates the Times Square New Years Eve ball drop. You can use a picture from the Internet of the ball you wish to use.Functionality Requirements:

-The ball will take exactly 30 seconds to move down the pole

-Need a timer to count down from 30 and reach 0 when the ball is at the end of the pole

-The timer will randomly change colour every few seconds

- When the ball has finished descending, the text Happy New Year! will display on the screen

-Need a button on the form that, when clicked, stops the ball drop and timer (so screenshots can be taken). When the button is clicked again, the timer and ball drop should resume from where it left off.

Picturebox Changing Image Into A Ball

Mar 31, 2012

I am trying to make a 'puppet' change into a ball when I press e.g. the right arrow key. I used getasynckeystate(keys.right) to check for the key in a timer. The moving is working well but I don't have an idea how I can make it change in a picture of the 'puppet' changing which then changes into a ball. Does someone know how to do this?

Move / Copy Image From Resources To Path?

Sep 9, 2010

I'm trying to copy/move (whichever works in the end) a picture from my resources in my program, to the startup path.

However, when i try it, it tells me that the file could not be found.

System.IO.File.Copy(My.Resources.Image, PATH, False)That will turn up with an error telling me that the value of type Bitmap cannot be converted to string. So i figured i would try to put a .ToString behind it, and then i'll get the File Not Found error.

VS 2010 - Find Image And Move Cursor To It?

Feb 19, 2012

It is very easy to move your cursor to a specific coordinate but my question here is how do you move your cursor to an image? Now what this would involve doing is importing an image so the program understands it, then finding that image on your screen (maybe through RGB colors). How exactly do you do this? What is the procedure?

Say I want to import this image: Now I want the program to find that image on the screen (THE START BUTTON) and then move my cursor on it.
so cursor.position = new point(the image)

How To Copy/move A File (image,accdb,...) Out Of Resources

May 12, 2012

I am making a VB.NET application linked to a database. when you press the button 'generate' it is writes (fairly simple) webpages to a folder in your destkop. what I tried was adding a build-in uploader to my website, but my host didn't supported that. ok, not that big of a deal, and completely out of context but now let's get to the core of my problem;

I wanted to have an image in the resources (none made yet) and have it copied out the resources and placed along with the webpages (to use it as background image). I have tried a lot (clearly not everything or it would work) but I just don't manage to solve this. the problem is I need to be able to do this, since I want to have my .accdb in the resources to, so that it copies out when used an writes (an updated version) back to the resources and deletes the external file. but I never seem to manage to do this. I tried to read, write and other things it with IO and everything, just getting the message that it cannot be read. but I never seem to find how to copy/move it outside the program. the code I am using now looks like this:

Imports System.Reflection
Imports System.IO 'this is for the writing of the .HTML files
Imports System
Public Class webGenerator

PowerPacks In .NET 2008?

Dec 2, 2009

I am looking at the powerpack ovalshape control. I cannot understand why there is no text property. When I go into the paint event and expose the e.graphics object and I do: e.Graphics.DrawString("Data", New System.Drawing.Font("Microsoft Sans Serif", 9, FontStyle.Regular, GraphicsUnit.Point), Brushes.Black, 15, 30)

The point coordinates 15, 30 are relative to the form not the shape. This is very frustrating. Also one cannot add a control like a label to the shape. Is there something I am missing or is this just a limitation of the ovalshape control?
