View 5 Repliesive got code like the code below that creates textboxes dynamically. I want to be able to click a button and delete all of these textboxes i make, however im not sure how to do this. When i tell the program to remove the TBIndex control it does not do anything. The only way i get it to work is if i put the command in the same sub as this code. This code runs in a loop by the way.
So if the loop runs one time and creates the TBIndex control and i have a line of code right after to remove the textbox, then it does not show up on my form. But if i put the command in to remove the textboxes somewhere else and run the code the loop runs abunch of times and creates all teh textboxes and the loop is complete, then the remove control part is called and nothing happens. I just need a way to clear all the textboxes off my form with like a button. I also tried painting over the textboxes with a big grey rectangle but that dindt work.

I always use the first one. It's more type work but I think it's neater. How about you people and is there any real difference between the two?
i have my main child form open. then i show the new form:

but when the form opens it flickers a lot. so i want move the new form behind the main form while it loads so the user does not see the flicker. once it is done loading i will set the form to topmost. how do i move the new form behind the main form?

My application appends incoming report data onto a RichTextbox control. As more text arrives from an external device, the thumb initially fills the trough and as times goes on, the thumb diminishes in size. This is expected behavior.A modal dialog box allows the user to cancel the file download but since it's modal, the user can't scroll down to see what the last text that was appended.Is there a property/event/method that will show the most recent/last text in the RichTextBox control, rather than the initial text as I have it displayed now? The user would be able to see the text drawn real time without having to use the thumb to accomplish

What is the best way to resize & move a form using just VB commands? I have a form that I need to set the Height and Top props, problem is that takes two calls and there is a noticable flicker. I tried using SuspendLayout/ResumeLayout, DoubleBuffered, swaping the top and height calls around, etc, but nothing seems to help. The test forms only have one small listview and one or two buttons. View 4 RepliesI have 2 forms main_frm and copying_frm. In main_frm, there is a list view that is populated with file names. The user then clicks save and all the files in the list are copied to a folder that they choose using a folder browser dialog. When this happens, I do copying_frm.ShowDialog() to display the copying_frm. The copying_frm contains a progress bar and a cancel button. I can get the progress bar to indicate how much has been copied. But that freezes up the application. To get around this, I create a new thread (called copyingThread) that copies the files. When that thread runs though, it can't access the waitingList_lvw in main_frm. For example, in the function that the copyingThread executes, if I have this line of code: MsgBox(main_frm.waitingList_lvw.Items.Count.ToString()) the result is 0. Also, I don't get any errors and no files are copied. How do I access waitingList_lvw in main_frm from a thread called copyThread that was created in copying_frm?

When I run the program there are no errors and it writes everything to my liking, but currently when it goes to save, it makes me create an entirely new text file with any name I choose to give it. What I need to do is for it to automatically get added onto the end of an already created text file without deleting any other part of the file, which we will call "data.txt." i want to be able to click anywhere there isn't a control on the form and be able to move the form to anywhere on the desktop...
the control box is off and the form text is blank, so there is nowhere on top of the form to click and move the form..
This used be an issue in VB6, I'm wondering is it better in vb.net 2005. Users like to hit [Enter] (or tab) to navigate from text box to text box. Now I know I can write code to trap the pressing of [Enter] on each text box key press event, but surely theres a better way?
