VS 2010 - Adding Rows To Bottom Of DataGridView
Feb 1, 2012I am trying to insert an initial line (0) into a datagridview (named params). The program will then read each cell in that row, pass them through a function and return values be placed into the next line (1). This will continue until one of the parameters reaches some set point. The problem that I am having is that when I try to insert a new line, it appears above the initial one and not below it like I would like it to.
Here's my code so far:

Mar 18, 2009I have a databound datagridview.I have disabled automatically adding new rows to the grid. The datagridview is bound to a datatable.In it,I have also set the Protected Overloads Overrides Function ProcessCmdKeyto handle and process the 'Enter' keypress.When the user presses Enter within the Datagridview,I want the grid to add a new single row to the bottom of the grid.I have tried several methods to do so,but the grid always adds the new row to the top of the grid instead of to the bottom.I tried posting this issue in the Windows Forms Data Controls and DataBinding board, but didn't recieve any help there, that's why I'm posting this here instead.The only person to help me there said she couldn't reproduce my issue, even when I supplied her with the exact code I was using.I believe there is more than one way to implement this adding of a new row to a datagridview programatically, and browsing through the various msdn forums, I came across several and tried implementing them all, always with the same result.I don't remember all the various implementations I have tried, but here are my few most recent ones:(This is within a class I created that inherits the datagridview. This custom class was the only place I could specify the ProcessCmdKey function, it doesn't work in an instance of the datagridview instantiated directly onto a form. That is why I'm using the me keyword to refer to the datagridview)#1)

Fixed Number Of Rows For A Data-bound Datagridview?
Jan 22, 2012Anybody have tried having fixed number (painted) of rows on a datagridview regardless of the number of rows of the datasource??? i.e. datagridview will still show 20 rows even if the the datasource have 8 rows only? like gridlines already painted as is - with/without datasource binded.

May 8, 2012I have three sub tables that I want to process. For each I want to combine the rows, as they are only different by contents in the second column(I want to do the same to the fourth column, later):

May 2, 2012i am trying to import a fixed length text file into an access database (accdb). I already have the table created but it doesn't have to be that way. i am wondering if i know the field lengths, can i a use a SELECT INTO query to get the data into access. or do i need a schema file?

Because of this behavior, the report engine creates blank space on the main report if the subreport does not fit on the same page as the main report. For grins I entered the date 11-02-2010 fully expecting it to be at the bottom of the list, not listed right after the last 11-02-2009 row and before the first 11-03-2009 row.How do I handle this so that come January 1, I won't see all the 01-01-2009 rows listed first followed by the 01-01-2010 rows then the 01-02-2009 rows, etc?

Sep 1, 2011Can anyone tell me why "Rows cannot be programmatically added to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound." I keep getting an error "Invalid Operation Exception was Unhandled" error. All I am attempting to do is allow the user to select products from a list(or a second datagridview) and have it added to the datagridview so they do not have to type in every cell since the other cells are not visible because they do not purtain to their needs. Plus they will be able to save all items at the same time.

VS 2010 - Some Rows Not Displaying In ComboBox
May 30, 2012I'm trying to display some data in my combobox, the strange thing is that the combobox displays all data that has 4 four columns (I only want to display 3 columns out the four) but its not displaying rows that only have three columns?
For example

I only want to display columns 1, 3 and 4 so I use the following coding

Jul 12, 2011I'm trying to query a DataTable to get a collection of rows but I'm finding that my search string has to be the exact length of the columns width. So, for example this won't work:

...but this will:
Dim rows As DataRow() = (From r In myTable.AsEnumerable() Where r.Field(Of String)("fname") = "Bob ").ToArray()
The search term ("Bob") has to be padded with spaces to make it equal in length to the column width (10 characters). Is this how it's supposed to work or am I doing something wrong?Also, how can I do a LIKE search? So for example, I want to search for all names that start with "Bo" or whatever. ie. "Bo*".
