Networkstream Write Only Returns First Result (need All)?

My issue lies in this:
I have a form that takes user input on which tif file(s) to find (which ends up being the getBytes(message) ). When one does this, it always returns one result - the first tif file that fits the criteria, However, I know in certain instances I should recieve more than one match.
Then I send the results to a picturebox and should be able to scroll through results (which this part works fine)I've tried a few ways to get multiple results, but maybe I'm missing the obvious? My best guess is using the asyncronous beginread/write.I've attempted using a for loop but I end up getting a bunch of the same tif files as a result..
I am building a simple proxy in server vb.NET and so far it has been successful, but then whenever i receive data from the internet and write it back to my browser's network stream using NetworkStream.Write the received data tends to come up slowly to my browser due to reasons i do not know of. But when I chain my application to another Proxy/listener on my local computer (e.g Privoxy), data seems to come up very fast to my browser. If anyone has an answer to this I would really love to know.btw here is the part of my code {subroutine} that receives data and forwards to my browser.

I am trying to create an application for a wire company that sells spools of wire for $100 each. The normal delivery charge is $10 per spool. Rush delivery costs $15 per spool. The user should enter the number of spools ordered in a text box, and check Rush Delivery box if rush delivery is desired. When the Calculate Total button is clicked, an input box should appear asking the user to enter the number of spools currently in stock. If the user has ordered more spools than are in stock, a portion of the order is back-ordered. For example, if the user orders 200 spools and there are only 150 spools in stock, then 150 spools are ready to ship and 50 spools are back-ordered.
Attached is the code with comments on what each function is supposed to do. I dont know why but the form always returns zero.

I am working on a project that requires me to hop into to separate DB's. So I have figured that I need to have multiple functions inside of my VB page. The only problem I am having,is I am not to sure how to get this all accomplished. So far I have figured out the overall structure, just need to implement that structure.
Here is my idea: The main Function would call two other functions. We can Call them Sub Function 1 and Sub Function 2. So, the main Function takes the saved sessions information for the E-mail address and dumps in into Sub Function 1. It needs to open up a new connection to the db/stored procedure and RUN the following procedure and then return the result. Here is the stored procedure and what I think is correct.

So my question is, what is the function suppose to look like? how do I send the session information to the procedure? and finally, how do I return the stored procedure results and push back into the main function so it can be carried into sub function 2?
I've created a custom MessageBox (a Form), that has buttons Yes and No. There is a function popUp() to show the MessageBox. I would call the MsgBox in a parent as follows: CustomMessageBox.popUp()
Now I want the message box to return a value: Dim a as Intger = CustomMessageBox.popUp() But this should only return once the user clicks a button in the message box.

When I run this code, the result is returned, even if the user doesn't click a button. I understand why, because the main thread of the form is not "paused" while the user has not clicked a button. How can I pause the message box itself, until a button was clicked? I've tried this:

But now the whole message box is captured in a loop and the message box is like disabled, because it waits for the loop to end, so the user can't click anything.
I have a simple vb.net application. When I go to bindebugprogram.exe and double click the program runs perfect. The same program will not execute using task scheduler. When I create a scheduled task and click 'run' it just pops up a console window for a second, closes. Additionally, this same program used to run with task scheduler. One day, it just stopped working.
ps: I have this program code managed in svn so I can safely say that the code has not changed.
I am trying to format a Function Code so that it returns a 4 digit result no matter the entry by the user (i.e. they enter 540, stores 0540 in the database). While looking online, I've found the format function, but when I use it, it returns 540, regardless if I enter 540 or 0540. [Code]
I have a set of textbox's 0-8 each has a label as textbx0 to textbx8. What I need to do is perform something like this:
for z = 0 to 8 result(z) = a + b textbx(z).text = result
I know this is not complete.I need to write a result to each textbox0-8. I can do this 1 statement at a time, is there an easier way using for, do or while loops?
I have used mshflexgrid for my vb.net program. But it shows error when I try to build because vb.net doesnt support mshflexgrid. I have a gridview with two cells cell(0) is a IP-number and cell(1) is a resultTxt. I have X number of rows. I want a solution that check each row and do a ping to the ip and write result to result. I want to do the ping in a new thread and i want to be able to do more then one at the time. So I want a loop that keeps checking the ones that are not online until they goes online. I am trying to create a program which will read the files that exist in a directory, and then write in a text file the specific information (full file name, date created)i have found several code in the site but i cant make it work, the machine i am running the code is XP and i am using VB2008.The code i have found is the following:
I am currently having a headache on how to solve this problem that i am facing. here is the situation: I have a combobox and a list box on the main form. The combobox will get the data from the ms access database. In the database, i have the details of a person's IC, Name and DOB say for eg on one entry I have D215311523C,SHAWN,13/04/1987 So now, my combobox on form load will show the list of dates in the database to allow the user to search base on the date itself by clicking on the selected date. So when the user clicks on the particular date say 13/04/1987, people in the database whose birthday is 13/04/1987 will be shown on the listbox.Meaning to say if i have 3 entries whose dates are the same 13/04/1987, 3 entries will appear. If there is only two entry, then two results will be shown. But now, when i do a single click on the date, one result will be shown. That is correct. But the problem is when i click on the same date again, three of the same results will be shown on the list box. that is it will display : 13/04/1987 13/04/1987 13/04/1987 which is not the case. Then it will show more duplicates of the same results if i click more times on the same date which should not be the case.

I am using a datagrid in my where i am having four columns. In first column the parameter values are entered and in the second column measured value is entered and in third column the nominal value is entered.Inthe fourth column the result is displayed by subtracting the measured value and nominal values. I am doing this calculation in Datagrid cell validated event. I am encountering the following issue So i have a device that sends stuff at the serial port, i then parse it and put it into an array of bytes like that:

Basically what i wanna do is let the port parse the messages, fill in the array with the result at an empty spot in this array and then i will have a separate thread that will look in into this array in each non empty space and after it looks into the non empty space it will use or discard the info and also mark this space as empty (after it checked)

Basically is there a better way to write this (even just part of the code) or a more efficient way to do it?
Basically the code is there to read all the bytes from a networkstream 1024 bytes at a time. And each time it reads the bytes it puts into one array which is returned.The thing i think might be better is only Redim byteTempbuffer if intRead is less than 1024 (the redim is to prevent empty bytes from being added to the end of the array when there are less the 1024 bytes left to read from the networkstream) (basically is it more efficent to Redim every time or to go through and if statement and redim only if needed)
How do I know where the other end of the NetworkStream from the 'server' computer? I have been looking at the following code that comes from a post out here, and am wondering where I can tell where I am going to send back to(URL/port)?

How would i load and image from network stream as bmp?For example the client sends a image thats jpg. but the server displays the image on a picture box property as bmp.
This question is about trying to find a way of telling what is being sent of the NetworkStream as in whether it is Text or Binary. For example I could have a Server program on my Girlfriends computer and the Client Program on mine, two functions on each:
Server: Textbox for catching any text sent (like a chat for example) and a function for receiving files (like an EXE or others) Client: Textbox for sending text to the client (again like chat) and a function for sending files (again like EXE or others)
How do you code the server to tell it how to determine which is which (Binary or Text) and further more what if the file being sent isn't an EXE, what if its an image or a text file or other type? I already know how to send a file through to the server and put it back together on the other side but thats only sending an EXE file. I'd want to enable an update functionality in the server so it can receive a message from the client saying its sending through an update which once the server gets the message it will know what to do on the other end (i.e. stopping itself whilst the update.exe is running and copying over the new file).
I am attempting to write a vb.net 2008 application that will allow me to send files from a server to a client based on a request. I am going to post the same console application code below. When i run the server and the client on the local machine, i can get my file update and it works just fine. When i go to a different machine on my network and attempt to connect to the server and download the file, i get the correct file size but the file, when i attempt to run it, says "not a valid win32 application". Now with a little testing, this can be any executable that i send over the network through my update software.

Where file is just a simple file name send from the server. What I recieve is for example: test.txt%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 etc. The server and the client are using the same encoding ASCII.

When I execute the code, the routine only receives one block of the data. However, if I go into debug mode with a breakpoint at the loop instruction, I receive all of the blocks of data.Am I missing something in the code, like a wait or something, that would allow the program to receive all data like happens with the debug?

I have a device that is continuously sending text over a TCP port and I want to write a VB.net application that will read and evaluate this data. Each line of text that arrives over the port can be of varying length and each value in the line is separated by a comma. I need to separate out these values in order to take various actions based on their contents.
The following code appears to read the NetworkStream fine but when I try to read the data into an array and output one field into a text file the code is only catching a few lines of the high number coming through the port.[code]....
