Building Fails To Overwrite Bin Files?
May 26, 2009I've installed VS 2008 on a new workstation and everything works fine except that the second time the solution is built it fails when it attempts to overwrite a .resx file in the bin folder stating that the permissions are not sufficient to overwrite the file. Deleting the bin files and building the solution works fine. The logged in user has full control permissions to the directory. I have a feeling this may be a simple issue, but I cannot find anything relating to the problem in my searches. If this is the wrong forum,

I used visual express edition 2005 earlier and I had to add to import the below code to get it to work. Now in 2008 edition I get a whole new error and I need to know what I need to Import. Problem is now I have been asked to make the same program start from the second line of the text files to get rid of headers. Designing Software - Making A MPC Sampler - Drum Machine - Making A Sound Directory ?
May 16, 2012I'm a huge music person (got my own lil record thing going) but I'm wanting to design a program that would make music in my way. I have a decent amount of background knowlege of Visual Basic and Java I'm just wondering how could I execute this whole project. The Project is making a MPC Sampler. MPC is a drum machine; a machine with buttons that once you press it that it will play a sound from a drum (ex: snare, kick, tom, ect.) . So I would want to make some pads on my program that each have their own sound. Total of 16 pads. Which the design wouldn't be hard to make nor would the functionality of it having the play back sound (in my opinoin it wouldn't be hard atleast). But the thing is I wanna map out these pads to number keys on the number pad or keyboard. I'm not so sure how to do that. But that's all the easy stuff...
Also finding information is making a sound directory. What I mean by this is that I want to make a User Interface that will open up a file directory of sounds and the user can select what "kick" or "snare" sound he may want for the kick or snare pad. I don't know how to do that or even know what to search; neverless I don't know if this whole project idea is a good idea for Visual Basic or another programing language.
Also LATER ON I am wanting to add a record and export function that alows users to..well...record and export their beat or instrumental ha. That doesn't seem too too complex (mainly due to the fact that all it needs to do is record the users key strokes and then show them and play the sounds, but obviously it would get more complex than that.)

In fact, EVERYTHING must have the right name, or my project won't turn out right: http:[url]....However I don't have that problem any more because I solved it. Now my problem is much more simple. Again, I'm NOT trying to overwrite one specific file, so I couldn't say something like,

May 15, 2011I've a program that draw an image in a picturebox with DrawImage. This image, a ball (.png transparent), every second is overwritten by another ball of different color. After 3-5 second the edge of the ball becomes bad, because of overwriting.

May 4, 2011I have a couple of files which I have to update periodically through a process written in VB.net . These files are on a server and part of a domain that many users can access. These files should never be written to as they are for reference only. I need to be able to overwrite some of them even if a user has them opened. Is it possible to do this? Presently the files permissions are not set as read-only but I can do this as long as the user under which the process runs will still have permission to overwrite them.
UPDATE: thx for your responses. The files are pdf and are opened by clicking on them from windows file explorer. This also happens when a user simply has the file selected in windows explorer.
