I have a windows application in VB.net that uploads some files to an existing web service. I know that this web service is providing a response back (success or failure), but I have no idea how to view it or save it.
Dim username As String = "username"
Dim pass As String = "pass"
Dim myWeb As New webserviceaddressishere[code].....
I need help with something it drives me nuts. I have an application which send XML to a web server through a POST method. This part works excellent. But where I have issues is with receiving the standard response from the web server for OK or error. Instead of receiving the actual response, I get the error message" WebException was unhandled. The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine" . The response I should receive is in XML format where I have as elements the error result (ok or error), the error number and the error description. Here is the code I have:
Does someone know If Response.Redirect can be used inside a method of a web service. I'm trying and I get an error. If I use it outside of the web service I have no problems.
I am new to the wcf services and soap. Kindly give me an example or demo how to generate a soap request and response using wcf services. I need to use VB.net for this.
I have a windows service that utilizes an infinite loop and thread.sleep. The sleep time for the thread is 10 seconds. When the service is initially started AND has work to do (data exist in SQL), it immediately does it's processes. It continues to be responsive and process tasks every 10 seconds as long as it has work to do. If no data is present in SQL for an extended period (i.e. 15-20 minutes) then the service starts responding very slowly. It will eventually pick the data up and process it, but it takes more like 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds.
Here's the situation. I'm a Java developer. Another developer in our company wrote a web service for our clients. They wrote the service in Java. They also wrote a demo for creating a client to consume the web service in Java and it works just fine. I've been tasked with creating a web services client in VB.NET to do the same thing. It hasn't been going smoothly. The problem is that the web service requires that you send the username and password in the SOAP header and I can't figure out how to do that in Vb.NET. I looked at the following pages:
I'm building a web service to accept notifications from a company. The company informed me that the service is incorrectly structured and provided me the .asmx of a working web service. It looks like this:
I have a VB.net web service that returns JSON that works fine. Once the response gets to a certain size though, the client browser says that the server has closed the connection and sent no data. This is true using IE, Chrome, or Firefox. The magic size seems to be about 16383 records, or about 1.13MB of data. I know this is slightly large for a web service.
[URL]... Regarding this question i got some suggestions, but how to implement is confusion. Can any one help to implement so that the problem can solve.
i have a Windows service that is hosting a WCF service through net.tcp and this is working great. I have also created a WCF service application. I am trying to add the net.tcp service reference to the service application. Then I add it to the GAC that goes ok but if I try to RegAsm the WCF service application to allow it to be called from Server.CreateObject I get the error:
Warning: Type library exporter encountered a type that derives from a generic class and is not marked as [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.None)]. Class interfaces cannot be exposed for such types. Consider marking the type with [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.None)] and exposing an explicit interface as the default interface to COM using the ComDefaultInterface attribute.
It does not work. I have tried to call it through a class library but this does not work either as the end point is not set correctly.
i made a tcp/ip application using the .NET TcpListener class, my problem is that sometimes (about 30 / 4000) the connection between the client and the server got interrupted in the middle and the server response to the client is lost.is there a way to know if the server response was successfully sent to the client without the client response back?
I have a VB2008 application which can control a windows service i.e. start, stop, pause etc. This runs ok on a Windows XP machine but not on a Win 7 machine (message is - Service error cannot open <service name> service on computer '.') ( if I stop the UAC then it runs ok ). It seems to be a rights issue,
I got this warning that I don't know what it means.Warning1 The service System.ComponentModel.Design.IInheritanceService already exists in the service container.Parameter name: serviceType00
I'm trying to obtain data from a dll, but I do not know how to do it.My code is:
'Function Public Declare Function SET_XML_PATH Lib "EbmPapstFan.dll" (ByRef ruta As String) As Long Public Declare Function GET_PRODUCTS Lib "EbmPapstFan.dll" (ByRef ruta As String) As Long
[code]....
This isn't a mistake with the path because Int_A is 0. In addition, GET_PRODUCTS gives me the number of products that software has.The manual say that this function also has string character output.I don't know how obtain this other string character output.
I am trying to communicate with a Windows service on a remote machine on the network but i keep getting an exception saying the following: "System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer 'machine001'. This operation might require other priviledges. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Access is denied.
Is it possible to have a dotnet windows service which monitor other services and upon stop of any service, the monitoring service would be able to start the stopped service.
This is a bit of unusual problem that I'm experiencing, but recently one of the users of a production application started reporting errors in the system. These were traced to a 503 Service Unavailable error when making a call to a web service used by the application.
Now here's the odd part, only the one user is affected by this issue. Other users of the application have not reported any errors. When the user logged on to a different machine that worked for another user, they still received the error.
i was trying to make my service act dynamically... i have set time for my service about for 2 min ,if suppose it was doin huge amount of work means it will exceeds that 2 min time limit then we need to check the service condition if work is pending means we need to run that instance until upto finish.
public static void StartService(string serviceName, int timeoutMilliseconds) { ServiceController service = new ServiceController(serviceName);[code]............
In the past I had the indexing service installed on a Windows Server 2003 and used it to index files for my website. I did this by executing an OleDbCommand with a query and a connection string. How do I accomplish the same thing with the new "Windows Search Service" (Windows Server 2008) by using VB.NET? Does this work the same way so that I only need to change the Provider name which has been "MSIDXS.1" up to now? Case true, what is the new Provider name?
I had a problem getting a VB.NET web service client to receive the response object from a Java web service. In the process of posting this question someone from another department volunteered some code written for a similar situation.I couldn't find this anywhere on the net so I'm completing my question to help others out.[code]The web service is Apache CXF with some Spring elements mixed in.
I am following some instructions that apparently work with vb6, but as i have downloaded the lastest version of visual studio i think its up to version 10.
my problem is that is have to create a program in which I enter some text in a text box and then in an other text box it will display the value store in a selected byte. I really don't know where to start. I have a form with three text box and a button. One of the text box to copy o write whatever I want, the other text box to write the number the byte I want to get the value and the last text box to display the value stored in the byte I choose. With the button I will start the function that will get me the value in the byte.

I have a general idea of what the code should look like but I can't seem to finish/put it together.I have a year's worth of data such as December 01, 2010 to December 01, 2011.The problem is that there are more than 365 points, some days for example have 3 data points and others have 4, etc..What I would like is to only have 365 points of data by averaging the data points for the days that have multiple points.
[Code]...
- So far I have another column with dates from Dec 1st 2010 to Dec 1st 2011.
- I think I'll need an IF statement for if the whole range of A column equals one of 365 days, it'll equal the average data.
- then I'll need to have a statement for x+1 date for each consequtive day.
Say I have a rolling collection of values where I specify the size of the collection and any time a new value is added, any old values beyond this specified size are dropped off.Obviously (and I've tested this) the best type of collection to use for this behavior is a Queue:
myQueue.Enqueue(newValue) If myQueue.Count > specifiedSize Then myQueue.Dequeue()
