Only this works...but I can't use the Drive path..cannot hardcode it.

So how do I start an outside Exe file from within vb net without hardcoding the path.

My question is as follows: The user has clicked File>Open in Notepad and also clicked on a file/folder. My Application in VB.NET needs to know the path and filename of the selected file/folder before the user selects the OK button of the Open Dialog box. How can I do this with VB.NET (VS2010).

I guess this one is pretty basic, yet i have not been able to figure out.So here's the deal, my application uses an external exe to generate some txt files that the application needs for a use case. Since hard coding the path of such exe would be hideously wrong in so many aspects i would like to include a little configuration option for the user, so he can specify the path of the external exe for the application to be used.I also would like to have something like that for the path of the Database I'm actually using.

I'm writing small VB.Net app which should build reports based on data gathered from some external MDB-files (Access 2007).
It was planned that this app will use parametrized SQL queries to collect data from DBs.
One of the parameters for these queries is path to the external MDB-file.
Here goes sample code:

Looks simple but doesn't works. After launch my app throws following exception - System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Disk or network error.
Have spent a whole day to make it work with no success. What have I done wrong?

Here's the part I'm having trouble with: I want to open the files using whatever program they have associated with the file extension. After researching it (on these forums), I determined that I should use the Process.Start() method. However, Windows throws an Win32Exception if there is no association to the filetype, and I want it to show the "Open With" dialog instead, and I can't figure out or find how to do that.

My problem is that after all links already opened, when I close my windows forms, sometimes my application suddenly open my default browser automatically and open url that on my URL list. I already tried to make all webbrowser to navigate to "about:blank"to make sure there are not loading any webpage before I close my application but the problem is still occur. Recently we ran into a problem where we would like to change all our db passwords for audit purposes. The problem is passwords for different dbs have been hardcoded in all our programs. How can I create programs going forward without hard coding the passwords in? I think I should be using a config file of some sort, but not sure how or where to start.

Once inside the application, certain users will need to update the AD. When I hardcode a username/password, I am able to update the AD, however when I try to force the object to use the logon credentials or if I don't specify the username/password, it throws an error. Obviously due to security concerns, I do not want to hardcode credentials.

We have an existing VB.net application. Upon an event, we need to open a browser window. I'm able to open the browser window like this:

Upon another event, we need to refresh the browser window with different parameters for strItem and strOrder.
If I call the same code above, it opens a new tab in the browser window. Is there any way to refresh the same browser window that was previously opened?

I want to list all open Windows Explorer windows with their active path in a ListBox. The app should refresh the ListBox if the explorer window is navigated to a different path.
For e.g. two explorer windows are open. One is navigated to C:Windows and the other is navigated to D:Stuff. When the app it run, it adds C:Windows and D:Stuff to the ListBox. Then, the user navigates to a different folder in one of the open explorer windows like C:Windowssystem32. The app should then refresh the ListBox and list C:Windowssystem32 and D:Stuff instead.
