Jul 18, 2010I need to get the url of the webpage the webbrowser is navigating to, but since the code executes faster than the webbrowser navigates to the webpage, it gets the url of the last page. I cant use DocumentComplete Event because i have a tabbed browser,
and i cant write events because im creating tabs(with webbrowsers) at run-time. So how would i check to see if the webbrowser has loaded a document?

VS 2005 - Showing Message On Loading Form
Aug 19, 2010I have a menu which when clicked will load form which take quite sometimes (although not very long) but the user keeps on clicking the menu and so the "not responding" message appears on the title bar of the app. I am thinking of displaying "Loading....Please Wait" so that users will stop clicking the menu or will wait until the loading of the form is completed. I tried these code but the form is still displayed even if form has loaded completely. [Code] I like to use the same concept also when the user clicked the save button, to tell the user to wait while changes are being saved.

May 1, 2011i have a pretty simple registration wizard form. this is an mvc3 azor project written in vb.my last step displays a partial view with the user's entered details. since the partial can take a split second to load, the form looks odd until it does - a blank form with a couple of buttons. is there a clean, proper way to display a little loading image/message while the partial is loading so it's obvious to the user he/she needs to hold on a sec.
my code for the register view:

The method I'm using above is not working. When I select a new item from the drop down list, it works as expected except the message "Loading..." is not showing at all.
WebBrowser Control Is In A Wait State : How To Kill The Wait
May 27, 2009While navigating to a series of sites at one site the WebBrowser control's DocumentCompleted EVENT is tripped and no other recorded Browser events occur after that. When this happens the hour glass cursor indicates the browser is waiting. From this point it take 120 to 250 seconds of wall clock time before the browser resumes. I am looking for a way to force an abnormal termination without destroying the control. I have tried "Stop", "nav to about:blank" repeatedly without success. How can I force an abnormal termination when the Cntrl is in a wait state?
Consider the following: The last known Browser event to be tripped is a Document Complete event; nothing else occurs after this. When this transpires the Cntrl is waiting.

Jul 13, 2009I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..

Nov 16, 2009I am using Visual Studio 2005 for coding. I am doing an exercise where I have to create a data lookup program. The program is to illustrate the concepts of using a database to look up information based on user input. The program allows a user to input two search criteria for a product search. The program then displays each individual search result, or record that meets the search criteria in a message box. I am not getting the message box and I don't know why. No errors are present during compiling so I have no indication as to where the problem is.

Jul 10, 2009ok I have a program that controls another program.. but sometimes the other program is not running.. so I ask the question "do you want to run it up" so if they it takes like 15 seconds to come up.. so really I dont want to do much on my program while we wait for that other program to finally come up..
normally when my program comes up I make sure the other app is running.. and it would come up before you would click on something to try to call it.. but during the day.. maybe their app crashes.. so then right before I try to make a call to it I will check if its running.. so I want to run it up but kinda put a hold on my code while it waits..
so whats the best way to do this ? stop my code.. call a timer and when it see's its up call again ?? or can I put in some wait in the code then continue... just looking for the best method people have used..

Mar 23, 2010i have have a MDI child form which have different textbox for criteria and a datagridview for result.When i launch the research i change the cursor : me.usewaitcursor = True when it finish i go back me.UseWaitCursor = False It works but some times (not all the time) if you move the cursor over the datagridview during the research, the cursor still in WaitCursor OVER the datagridview, it didn't go back to default but on the rest of the form is good (default arrow).I have tried whith : Me.cursor , cursor or cursor.current but i have the same result/problem.

I want a splash screen or wait dialog containg "Please wait" message to appear till the form loads and the wait splash screen would be shown for every several forms in the application not only before the start up form.
