Prevent The User From Proceeding If A Specific Text Box Is Empty?

I am trying to prevent the User from proceeding if a specific text box is empty. All of the following lines of code SEEM TO work:
If txtTitle.text = "" Then.....
If txtTitle.Text = Nothing Then.....
If txtTitle.text = Nothing Then.....
(followed by a message box advising of the need for input)
The problem is, if the User enters a space (either accidentally or intentionally) all three of the above recognize the space as a valid entry.

this maybe an easy one for mos of you! I have a windows that is displayed as full screenThe window contains a series of images (movie posters) and the name below it. When you user clicks on a movie poster a new window appears (smaller window) in the middle of the screen.I want to force the user to close close on the small window before procedding. Currently if the user clicks outside the small window the full screen window comes to the front thus hiding the smaller window.

I have read through some of the other posts and I think what I want to do is slightly different. I have a combo box in VB ExpEd2010 that I want to allow the user to only select from the drop down list. However, I want to be able to set the value in the combo box to something that is not in the list. So the drop down list will have values 1, 2, 3 but I want to be able to write to the same combo box a value of 2.4, 1.2, etc.

I have a text box labled QTY, which feeds the QTY column on a datatable. the table then is ran through a function that takes the data and converts it to a string which my production machine can read. My problem is this, and its probably really simple (these problems usually are) how to i force the user to use a specific type of input on the txtbox so they would have to put the QTY in the format of 01 02 03 etc etc, i have it set to default to 00 but i want to force the user to haver to input 2 chars.

I have a datagrid that will be accepting data from an external measuring device via the serial port. The grid is also open to editing records as well. Part of the process of making this grid user friendly is to intercept the "enter" key and move to the next cell until there is a value in the cell. I have a rich text box which I use in order the user is able to add pictures, coloured writing, different font etc... however I need to load specific text in the rich text box when the user load the Form.how I can add (I guess) the HTML to load this every time the user load the form.
P.S the text will change depending on who loads the form so I can not do a simple

I am working on a small program which will check a web server if an update exists for a program. I am having it display to the user if it has a confirmed connection to the web (by pinging the website), and let them know if there are any updates available...
When it pings the web server, if the ping returns true, I'd like it to output "Confirmed Connection" before continuing executing the program. Is there a way I could do this..? I've tried numerous different things so far but it loads everything and displays everything all at once...I included a printscreen of what I'm trying to do.. I also pasted my code in. Ignore my sloppy name defining for the textboxes and such. I just made this up as a test until I get this figured out..

i want to prevent users from entering numbers and other characters such as (_,"*&^$#).... into my textbox-u know what i mean! I want my textbox to accept only alphabets.
