Program See If A String Contains Any Of The Items In An Array?

I need my program to check and see if it contains any of the items in an array. For instance I want the program to only filter .jpg png bmp and gif in a listbox when files are added, so I did this
If str.Contains(".Jpeg") Or str.Contains(".png") Or str.Contains(".bmp")Or str.Contains(".gif")Or str.Contains(".wmf")Then end if I want to have a a list of all these filetypes in an array or so and have it only checking in the whole array instead of typing each one.
I have a program that will compare an array of grocery list items glist and an array of coupon item clist.When I compare the two and if there is a match somewhere in the array I want to have a picturebox visible.When there is no match, I want the picture box not to be visible. [code] The code seems to work great until I come to the else statement.When the code finds a match it displays the picture box and the msgbox without error, but as soon as the message box is cleared, even though i've input it as an ELSE statement, the picturebox goes false again.Does anyone have any idea of how I can "hold" the picturebox to stay visible while the match between the arrays exists?

I guess I'm not trying to store each item in the string array correctly. How would I do this?
I have done some code to write to Excel from a String Array of 3 items. These 3 items are written to columns 1, 2, 17 or 3, 4, 17, depending on the value of the 3rd item in the array. For certain Excel files, this is taking too long to write. Is it because I'm writing cell by cell? Is there any other way of writing faster to Excel?

I am writing an OPC Client in VB.NET (2008) and I am using an OPC wrapper from Graybox. I am having some problems with the data types. I have an Array of String that contains all of the OPC Items that I wish to read from the OPC Server. When I attempt to use the Array of String, Option Strict causes the following compile error message:Error 5 Option Strict On disallows narrowing from type 'System.Array' to type '1-dimensional array of String' in copying the value of 'ByRef' parameter 'ItemIDs' back to the matching argument. I have an array defined As string and the value stored in site is like "7E", "A1" and so on. But in order to send out this array through serial port. I need to change the the array to As Byte instead of using As String. How can I convert it?
I've been working with a sig capture application sample on a windows mobile device, The data is sent via IP to a host as a byte array and is then drawn onto the screen of the host as it appeared on the client. I was able to get this into the form of a bitmap object so I could print it or save to a jpg file. That all works well. The problem now is that I need to store this data in a database and then be able to recall it at a later time and recreate the signature image.
The byte array data is much smaller than the actual image so I would like to store it in that form. My issue is that when I convert this byte array into a string and back again my program can no longer re-create the image. Once I saw the problem I created the code below as a test and added the msgboxes to get an idea what was happened to my data.

I have a listview with two columns of data in it. I want to capture all the items in the listview into an array. The array will have two dimensions, one for column 1 and the other dimension for column 2. I am a little lost on how to iterate over the listview items. I figure it would be a for each statement. Its also the actual call that passes the found item and sub item to the array I am struggling with.
I have an array with 280 items in it. I only want 140 of those, so I want to pick them at random. So I need to generate a random number between 0 and the source array's getupperbound property. I think. Is there a more suitable way to pluck an item from an array. I wonder if there's a way to ensure that you don't choose the same item more than once. I suppose I could randomly sort the source array and choose the first 140 items, that would ensure I don't get a repeat item. But could be inefficient if the source array is much larger than the destination array, because I'd be shuffling more values than I need to shuffle. I suppose it's a sampling problem.
