View 3 RepliesWhen I have changed the name of a table field name none of my combo boxes or grid views work properly. The TableAdapter still refers to the original name. Is there an easy way to make the change propergate through the program or do I have recreate all my TableAdapters.

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?
I made project using VB.Net 2005 with multi languages, the first form is MDIParent form with MainMenu and toolbars also there is some changes in properties as righttoleft and text of forms.In my Mainmenu (Menustrip) there is opetion to change the UI Culture and I have already done but I need to change all texts in the form as mainmenu items anf form properties.My quetion is: how can I reload my form again to read the new texts names and mainmenu items names from resx file?

I tried everything until I turned blue. So I went to the basics and coded all the automatic stuff. I'm curious as to why the automatic binding didn't work. Perhaps its because my gridview datasource was LINQ.Here is how I pulled it off. I hope someone down the road benefits from the last 48 hours of my delima:First of all, know that I have two drop down lists on my form, one is the GPField and the other is the BankField. These are already populated DDLs that are static. So I used them to cheat on the values instead of using enums.

View 1 RepliesUsing DevExpress 10.2 within Visual Studio 2008 with VB.Net I have created a single gridcontrol that contains two different gridviews. The gridviews are related using an id column. Basically if there are related details about a row in the first gridview then the user can click on the plus sign to see all the related details. When I have any row on the first gridview I am able to get the focused row. Yet when I have the focus on any of the rows in the second gridview I am unable to get the focused row or the content of the row.

Is there any way to get the value in id from the focused inner gridview? Or at least figure out the parent row and grab the id value from there?
I've created the beginnings of my new web application, but I am often coming up against the issue that ASP.NET renames elements IDs or in the case of form fields, their names.I have a form which is basically a sales system. It is essentially made up of two User Controls, one is a form for Customer Details (name, address etc) and the second is a form for the customer's purchases, it consists of a number lines dynamically created by Javascript created as you list the items the customer is purchasing. Both these sections are User Controls because they are to be used for other areas of the system where this data will need to be recalled/re-entered.When the USer Control is loaded, the field which contains the Customers' Name is renamed "m$mainContent$customerForm$name" I understand where this comes from, "m" is the ID of my Master Page, "mainContent" is the main Content Placeholder and "customerForm" is the name of the User Control.
In fact, in my case, this will always remain the same on all forms, so it is relative easy to overcome... but... suppose it wasn'tI can see there are ways I could deal with this with Javascript, but the form doesn't need an AJAX submit, a normal Post will do fine for this, so when I open up the recieving page I want to call Request.Form("name")% to save the customer's name into the database, but of course I really need Request.Form("m$mainContent$customerForm $name")%How would I dynamically extract those prefixes from the posting form to ensure that if I rename anything or use it in a different scenario, the problem will not break it?I am using .NET 2.0, so can't use Static Client.

I've created a Gridview control that pulls some data from my database, but doesn't display all of the information I'm hoping it gathers. I choose not to display the primary key for user interface purposes, but require that key for basic operations on the grid.I'm currently attempting to add a "Delete" option to the table, but unfortunately I'm having very little luck. I currently have a DevExpress GridControl that contains two DevExpress GridViews.So there is the main view and the subgrid (similar to the DevExpress demo for Master-Detail Grids - example with WinForms and better view with ASPxGridView). I am doing work for a client who has lost the source code for one of their VB.Net WinForms applications. The assembly they have is not obfuscated at all. I am trying to recover as much of the source as I can as C# source and have tried several tools for decompiling assemblies, including Reflector, ILSpy and JustDecompile (all the latest versions), but they all produce code with a huge number of errors in them. Because of the large number of errors in the generated code, I am going to ask about the specific errors (in different questions), get more directed answers and in this way try shed some light on why all the tools are having difficulty decompiling this assembly. This question pertains to the fact that the code generated by all these tools always have a large number of invalid member variables (fields) such as the following:

Is there any way to get common control names like Save, Copy or Undo Redo in the user's windows language? (I saw this in some programs which weren't made for my windows language. Also the Yes No Massage Boxes will change...)

I'm trying to create a form that accepts names (or any strings) as input and stores them in a object. See attached form sample.Form Image:
Operations: ï Initially the NumericUpDown object on the form should be disabled.The user enters a value (string) in the textbox and clicks the Add button or presses the Enter key to activate that button.The application then stores that name in a List object, and displays the last entry in the Label underneath.The NumericUpDown should become enable after the first entry. i'm on day one with VB05 express Beta 2 after a several-year break from VB6 after having a sudden surge of programming inspiration. i must say i'm quite impressed with a lot of the features, however, i'm really stumped by something that must be so simple that i'm just looking too hard or something.i've been looking for hours at how to return to the graphic design view of a form. i can't find it anywhere. all of the code from when i closed my project is still there but the visual representation of the form itself is nowhere to be found.

When on the main form I call the funtion takeMeasurement(1) how can I get the LCR readings back. If I try and use readingBufferA1 on the mainform it doesn't recognize that as a variable. I know that it is taking the reading and storing the correct numbers because I am monitoring on NI Spy.

[Code] Now lf is the login form that waits for the users password and then, depending on if its correct or not when they hit OK it should send back a true or false (isLogedIn). Currently i do not know how to have the code wait until it receives something from the login form before moving onto the next code.
If i use my old code here:

It never ends if the user puts in a false login password so it just keeps waiting.
I have a parent form that can open a modal form which contains a populated listbox. In the parent form, I can use DialogResult to detect which item in the listbox the user chose in the modal form. But I also want the modal form to return a string that was generated in the modal form.
