Set The Size Of The Left Panel?
Feb 12, 2012I placed a toolstripcontainer on the form. I need only the left panel.
How can I set the size of the left panel?
I can't find any size property. Only Maximumsize and Minimumsize.

Scroll Left In Panel When Children.left= -
Jun 6, 2011I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?

Jan 23, 2010This is a task panel made from 3 others open source code that I combined. It already has some docking ability, hiding ability, resizing and moving but there are some problems it wont dock top and bottom without getting confused with left and right. When 1 panel docks another panel will dock on the side of it not the parent container. It needs some kind of splitter container to be able to dock into if you have 2 panels or more docked on the same side but still being able to drag out of it and move somewhere else. Sep 2, 2009i have a panel on a form and i have various controls inside the panel which i then shrink and enable the panels scrollbar so i can scroll through the controls. i am trying to get the exact size of the panel (unshrunk).for example the panel is 500 pixels in width and i then shrink the panel down to 300 pixels and enable the scrollbar. when i try to get the size of the panel using code like
panel1.size.width.tostring
it keeps telling me the panel is 300 pixels long ..which yes it is because i shrunk it down but i want to get the full size of the panel which should be 500.

May 12, 2009I am using a textbox which handle the name of the employee and when it get focus i am using a listview with detail view which shows all available employees and user have to select any of them. I am using all this control in a panel, unfortunately listview need more size then panel, and i cannot increase the size of panel. But placing listview inside the panel make its child control and hide the half list view. Is there any way that i can show full list view control under the textbox?

Sep 12, 2011I thought this would be easy but for some reason it's giving me a rough time. I have a windows form with three equal size panels on it. Each panel takes up about 1/3 of the window width, less some inter-panel spacing.
The effect I want is if the user stretches or shrinks the form the panels maintain their relative 1/3 width and spacing, similar to how divs on an html page would size as the browser window is sized.
So I anchored the left panel to left, top and bottom, the center panel to top and bottom, and the right panel to top, bottom and right. This works fine in keeping the left and right panel anchored to their respective sides, and all panels now stretch with a form height change.
So in form resize I adjust the width of each panel to form.width/3. As expected this is close but does not account for the inter-panel margins I want to preserve and the form border width.
I played around with various constants and noting I do gives me the desired effect.I'm sure there is a pretty straight forward solution to this but I can't seem to find it.
VS 2010 Font Size - Aligning Label Inside Panel
Oct 22, 2010I have a form on with I have a label inside a panel, with a button I can open a fontdialog and change the font of the label (inside the panel). The font (name and size) I also display in 2 textboxes. This works as far. But I also want to display in a different label (so not the same as the label inside the panel) which fontstyle is selected (at this point when I select bold, the number 1 is displayed in the label, but I want to the word Bold displayed. Also I found out that when I make the fontsize smaller, the label inside the panel isn't align in the middle of the panel.

The structure needed a fixed size of 10 items (9 in programming terms starting from 0) And also out of the 5 items allowed to be chosen as one of the member types for the structure a limit of 5 items of that particular type.

Asp.net - Controls (buttons) Be Set In A ModalPopup Extender Panel That Do Not Close The Panel?
Apr 21, 2009When a user is editing a given piece of data, they're allowed to add messages/comments. These are stored as child records in a SQL database. Clicking on the Add Message button brings up a panel (pnlMessage) courtesy of the AJAX ModalPopup Extender. This takes some input and, when the "Send Message" button in the panel is clicked (I learned the hard way to NOT make that the 'OkButton' property), the message is stored in the database and an email is sent to the intended recipients. No problem there.
However, I need to be able to allow the user to add new email addresses (so long as they are registered in our database). I have another ModalPopup / panel combo (pnlSearch) that's tied to a button on the previous panel (pnlMessage).
The user is supposed to be able to add an email or click on a search button to populate a list to choose from.
The pop-up panel (pnlSearch) comes up just fine, but clicking the "Lookup" button (which instigates the search and returns a collection of records that the user is supposed to pick from) closes the panel.
Previously, I ran into the problem of having the Button.Click event never firing when I put the Button into the "OkControlID" property (the CancelControlID works fine since I don't want to do anything). Removing the "OkControlID=Button" line allowed it to work perfectly with the Button.Click event firing as expected.
So now I have the Search panel with a button for "OK" and a button for "Search" - but the panel should stay up and visible after the Search.Click does it's thing. Am I missing some property that basically says "don't close the panel when this button is clicked"? Of course, if I bring up the panel again in the same session, the results from the previous effort are there (the search results).

As a small example of the problem, suppose I have one Panel2 contained inside of Panel1. If the Left position of panel2 is set to 0 (meaning it's border is up against the left edge of Panel1), the left border will show as bold, and slightly indented.

Autoscroll X.panel According To T.panel's Scroll Position

t.panel is the main panel and it has too much content to fit in one screen so there are scroll bars. x.panel contains the horizontal scale for the data points in t.panel. I drew the scale using a bitmap and set it as x.panel's background.
Setting x.panel's horizontalscroll.value = t.panel's horizontalscroll.maximum doesn't seem to work. I think this is because x.panel's doesn't have any content that causes it to need scroll bars.
Panel Is Not Staying In The Right Position In Another Panel?
Jan 17, 2011I have a problem with a certain panel in another panel.
I have declared a panel on my mainform that is called panel1 ( dock: fill)
In this panel is another panel ( panelmain )with size 10.000, 10.000 pixels. Now I put the auto scroll property of panel1 to true, so then the panel1 has scrollbars on both sides and can show the whole panelmain.
Now the user has the ability to zoom, which basically means that I just scale Panelmain with all it's child controls.
Like Panelmain.Scale(0.95) ( To zoom out )
And panelmain.scale( 1.05) ( To zoom in)
This works well, but when the user is using the scrollbars in panel1 and after that zooms in ( or out ) the location of panelmain is changing. So I tried to solve this by docking panelmain inside panel1 at the left. But now the vertical scrollbar is gone. how I should dock panalemain inside panel1 to prevent panelmain from moving around but also in a way that both the horizontal as the vertical scrollbar are present?

Jul 16, 2009when I click the Open button a file is opened and its items are sorted alphabetically. to do this I have doubled the size of my list. However, when I click the button again to reopen the same file, the items will ADD ON to the previous open-file event even though I have this piece of lstListboxTwo.Items.Clear()(the correct thing is to clear the previous items and add the new ones)So I think this has to do with the new size of my list..I think that I have to set the list size back to its normal size when re-clicking on the button.
