Store In A Central Place Where The Numbers And The Message Will Be Stored?
Jan 22, 2010
I need some help with to make a messages system. I build a form with display a message code and the message.
Example : 0000001 : Not connected to network
The problem is that i want to store in a central place where the numbers and the message will be stored in the code. I was thinking about a array to store the date.
i know that integer is a variable to store whole numbers and that a string is a varialbe used to store any text, but what variable type would you use to store a number that has decimals?
I am wondering where should I store my error messages. These messages are the simplified version meant for the users. I am thinking like centralizing a specific location to store all the custom messages so that it will be easier to reference in the future. The location should also provide a key for each stored message.
I am trying to execute a stored procedure and place the data in a datagrid manually (without using the .net wizard). I am using vb.net and asp.net in visual studio. Here is my code but I can't figure out where I'm going wrong.
Imports System.Data.Sql, Imports System.Data.SqlClient Imports System.Diagnostics Imports System
[code] I am trying to place random numbers into labels, but the process that i am doing is taking way to long, just wondering if there is an easy way around this? I also need to know the answer to the sums that get placed into the labels and then check that against the answer in the text box.I have looked all over the DIC forums and nothing meets my queries. Please help, this is just a quick program for my son so that he can get some sums into him.
For this code, its saying that "File not declared". My textbook isn't specific at times. I was wondering how do I declare "File" or what else will I need to declare.[code]
I have a series of text boxes with numbers. They are an array called txtBF(0 to 16). I am trying to take the value that is to be displayed in the text box and make it have only one decimal place. I have tried using this code below but I keep getting an error message Run Time Error 13: Type Mismatch.
txtBF(11).text = Round(txtBF(11).text, 1) and I have also tried this txtBF(11).text = Math.Round(txtBF(11).text, 1)
I have several threads all relating to this same subject but I have yet got a answer which I could work with. I think most of that is because of my explaining..So..[code]...
I am having some difficulty with an xPath expression. I am using an XML document to store queries / stored procedure names in an ASP application. I use a utility function to load the xmldocument (if it isn't previously loaded) and I am attempting to select the node set from the document that matches an Id element. [code] the node variable only returns the first element. I have verified the that the qry string that is used to SelectSingleNode IS the correct Id value (i.e. USER002) - however the node is getting loaded with the USER001 element. It is obviously the xPath expression that is messed up. What do I need to tweak on the xPath expression so that I can return the correct <Id> element and corresponding child <Sql> element.
I am making a simple vending machine and I need to store the amount of drinks bought and money stored in a text file. When the vending machine opens it needs to load from there.
Is it possible to store two related numbers in a list and then check them if the are exist in the list?ere is an example of what I did to achieve the above:
Dim CounterConnections, FromN, ToN As Integer Dim ConnectionsList As New List(Of Integer) Dim Myrandom As New Random
[code]....
The above code generate two random numbers and store the in a list. I am adding the two numbers to be one so that I can check if they exist in the list.e.g. if the FromN = 7 and ToN = 11 then the list will consist of :
711 and 117
a list to store 11 7 and 7 11 which is capable to be checked later if some some numbers are exists.
I've used a numericupdown to select a number and then save it to a .dat file When i try to display the integer in a listbox, it appears as a random sequence of numbers.
for example, if i input 200 into the numbericupdown, when displayed in the listbox, it is shown as 538976366
Is it an error with the properties with either the numericupdown or the listbox? or do you need to see my code?
let me know if you need any more information or code
I have stores some numbers as strings and also some non-numbers as strings in an array. How do I find and store the numbers in one array and non numbers in another array?
Am new to programming and i would like your help to this question. [b][color="Red"]Write a declaration statement of an array of integers to store 15 numbers. Initialise the first 5 values.
When I open the Visual Studio 2005 I don't see the template i.e. Win32 Applications, C++
Write a function that will take one integer input parameter, create a sequence of numbers stored in an array from 0 to that number, and the numbers are a summation. For example, given 7
I'm looking for a way to take seven 2 digit numbers & combine them into one number to store in a database. The numbers represent hours for each day of the week & I only have one field to store them in. Then I need to be able to take the stored number & decode it back into the original seven numbers. Anyone have any clever ideas how I can do this?
I have created a search form based on my SQL database to search for individual records based on 3 types of criteria. The form is up and running but I want to be able to add some more code. I have assigned Stored Procedure to each click event for each button. What I wantr to be able to do is after value is added to text box and button is clicked if there are no reults to display than a message box is displayed with adequate message detailing this. Also is it possible to add a count of records to the form. Once value has been enetered ij tyext box and stored procedure runs and fills dataset with required data can I display a box to show number of records from this search.
I have a string which was converted to a char array and stored in a stringcollection, how do I return the numerical value for the character in each string? How can I reverse this process, getting the character from the numerical value?
I know I could code a Select Case statement, but that would take a very long time as I need to cover every character a person could want to conceivably use in the English language, including punctuation. Is there already a method built into vb.net for doing this?
Right so my generator is working, but I now want to take the numbers that it generates and add them to a list of generated numbers. So you can monitor what numbers have been generated. then ideally a way to exclude these numbers from being generated again.
In my project I am using a LINQ to SQL class that contains a stored procedure which includes a string value as an output parameter. So to capture that, I created a string variable as follows in the procedure:Dim spOutput As String? However, when I do this I get the following message "Type 'String' must be a value type or a type argument constrained to 'Structure' in order to be used with 'Nullable' or nullable modifier '?'"
Im trying to do a lab that will obtain 10 numbers from the user using an InputBox() function, store them internally in a one-dimensional array, and then compute the average of the numbers and sort them in reverse numerical order. The program should control that 10 numbers (no more, no less) are entered, and that the numbers are fully validated as integers.
If the user enters non-numeric data, then an appropriate error message should be shown, and that number should be allowed to be re-entered as a valid number. Then all the numbers should be shown as a list in a 'message box'. So far I can get everything but the message box to show the list of numbers entered.
Public Sub RandomNumbers() Dim s(4) As String Dim RandomNumber As Byte
I don't know if you can tell what I am trying to do here, so I will try to explain. I what to create for random numbers and place them into for different text boxes. I also would like to do this with combo boxes and their selected indexes. So if the combo box has 10 items in it; the new selected index would be the random number generated above.
I have a MaskedTextbox which takes Us Phone numbers. Using The MaskedTextBox ensures the user can enter only numbers and the number gets formatted right.
Here is the problem I am having: How do I add an error message if the box is left empty? I am not trying to validate the number, just need a way to add: "You forgot to enter a number." Can I add this to a MaskedTextBox?
How do I add a message box or alert to a MaskTextbox if the user hit submit without entering numbers?
I am trying to create the following program Store in a 1d array a set of 5 place names and in a 2d array the distances between the places. Ensure that the order of the places is the same in both arrays. When the names are places are input the distance between them is displayed. If they are not both in the table a suitable message is displayed
Dim town(1 To 5) As String
Dim Dist(1 To 5, 1 To 5) As Integer
Dim First As Integer
[CODE]......................
I think the best way forward is pass a parameter to the function findnumber.
I am coding a program that will allow the user to input 5 payrolls for Store 1, Store 2, and Store 3. The total of the 5 payrolls are then added together and shown in the respective Store's labels. A total label is also there to add up all the totals into one number. The numbers in the label must be in currency form. My problem is the numbers don't add correctly when I hit calculate. The first two numbers add together, but then after that the number just seems to subtract a random amount.
So far I have this --
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Me.Close() End Sub
I have an application which writes to and reads from a database. I'd like to be able to have the application installed on a number of computers with the database installed on a central server which all of the applications will connect to.
first of all, installation (installing the app is simple, but how can I get an install program to put the database on the server?), and next, concurrency errors?
I understand that having more than one person trying to update the database at the same time is likely to cause concurrency errors, but short of deploying my application and having everyone try to write to the database at once, I'm not sure how to approach this.
