Apr 15, 2009I have an application, running multiple threads, and in many of these threads, Outlook is being called, some mails read, attachments downloaded, and then the outlook instance closed. But it is possible that there are a number of threads trying to do the same thing at the same time. There is of course a lock at the beginning and end of the process, so that no two threads try to access the outlook application at the same time.

Outlook Lastmodification Time Doesn't Gets Modified After Change Of Synced Outlook Item
Jul 3, 2009I have written a code in VB.NET using "Microsoft Outlook 11.0 Object Library" to create an appointment, task or contact in Outlook. Now the problem is once i create an appointment, task or contact from my VB.NET code and then if i open these item in outlook and modifies and save the content (like body of an appointment) then the lastmodification time of these item doesn't gets modified. It always shows the previous lastmodification time. This happens only for those item which got created from my VB.NET code.
I have tried realsing the COM object in my VB.NET Code.

Apr 20, 2009I work for a somewhat large company.There are about 160 Windows XP Pro users. We are still using Microsoft Office 2000 for the most part.We have upgraded some users to Office 2003. We are not using Microsoft Exchange.I have to export every users' Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2003 Contacts into an Excel or CSV file every 6 months as a way of backing the Outlook Address Contacts.Currently I am doing this by physically going to every pc and manually exporting the contacts.This is a large pain.I am trying to find out if I can use or create a Visual Basic 2008 Express program or script that will export the contacts from Outlook and save it as an Excel or CSV file.The name of the file should be the same as the computers net name.It should be saved in the same location, on the network, each time.I am new to programming and new to VB 2008 Express.I do not know or have any code to start with.

It would be better if I could read the messages from the inbox directly into my app without the user having to save them as text files. I've searched the web and every example I find is from 2003 or earlier and is using VB6. I'd like to read both Outlook and Outlook Express Inboxes. May 31, 2011I have a simple form in VB.NET with one button which when clicked opens an Outlook Explorer to display an Outlook Calendar. When the user closes the Explorer, the form picks up the close event, garbage collects the Outlook objects and attempts to close itself.
However the Me.Close() does not work - if I pause the code on the Me.Close line and set a watch on the Me form object, lots of the form properties say "{"Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'Form1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on."}System.InvalidOperationException" If someone could help me out with this one I would be a very happy bunny...

Calling Outlook Contacts Form From .net - A Dialog Is Open Close It?
Jan 24, 2012I have made a little programme where the user can put in a name to search for a contact.The matches then fill a Datagrid and the user can then choose the one they want and the programm then opens the contact form (from outlook client)The Contact form opens ok, and it brings up the correct contact. If the user then selects the option to "Email" from that from I then get the error message"A Dialog is open" etc...

I need a script to read the date, then make an appointment on my outlook calendar, using that date, time and term (TMC) as the meeting title. Form Freezes When Running
Jul 24, 2009Firstly I want to state this doesn't affect the usability of my program. I made a GUI for an old cmd line program and when running the GUI's form will freeze up and be completely unresponsive. This is annoying since you can't move the form and if you open something over the form then move/close it you get the affect in the attached pic. Attached pic is the program running and the windows calculator being moved around over it.
Is there a way I can have the form stay responsive while the program is running? I don't need for any of the buttons, text boxes, etc to be editable while the program is running.
Moving Form While App Is Running
Apr 6, 2012I'm developing a VB.net windows form app in Visual Studio 2010. I want to be able to drag the form to another location or minimize it while the app is running. Is that possible? Here's and example. I have a form with 1 button. Here's the code associated with the button:

Running A Form On Another Thread?
Apr 28, 2012what i currently have is the main form that then when a user presses a button it runs some functions that loops through some files and changes them and then copys them to another location the functions can take quite some time. what i want to is when the button is pressed it opens another form with a textbox on it and when it has finished 1 cycle of the loop is outputs a line to the textbox and tells the user weather or not it has been sucsessfull.
at the moment i have:
