Unable To Save A Score Then Have It Print Out In A Text Box To Prove It Is Saving?
Dec 10, 2009
I want to be able to save a score then have it print out in a text box to prove it is saving.. Here's what i have outText = IO.File.CreateText("final.txt")
I am making a word processor, in VB 2008 and one problem I'm having is creating a save, print and open features. I have done the dialog bit, so when I click my save, print or open buttons the open, print or save window opens, but it's just the next bit that's mind boggling; writing a code so the file will actually open, save or print!
Ther opendialogbox1 syntex I wrote for my simple word pad works great, however, my savedialogbox1 does not . Below is a copy of my syntex. I don't get no errors, but I am not actually saving the file. I am using rich text box not text box
Private Sub Savefile_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Savefile.Click SaveFileDialog1.Filter = "Text files(*.txt)|*.txt"
I have made a text editing application and, as you might have guessed yourself, I needed to add save features. Well, what I have implemented so far is the ordinary "Save As..." feature which I made by using a common SaveFileDialog. Now it's time for the hard part. I need to add the "Save" function located in many Windows applications (Notepad etc.). This is what I'm working on at this moment but it doesn't seem to work.
i want to save String in File Who not Able to open in Text Editor Open it Only on my Application Suposly i want to save Phone Book Contact In this file Three Text Boxes
1. Name 2. Phon Number 3. @mail Address
i already read these stuff but still not Understand i already check Kaymaf Provided link , but i m not understand Create Your Own Custom File Type
I am working on a simple game and wanted to save the high score in application settings. Research upon failure has shown that user is read/write but the program doesn't store it between runs.
I'm using VB.Net 2008 application program.I'm using DataGridView. I have a Print Preview option where i need to print the DataGridView.Using "DataGridView1.Rows.Add" i'm adding rows to datagridview.I'm using this code for Print Preview.[code]If you know how i can Save Print Preview inside text file or Excel, please help me.
Haveing troubles with an assignment. I am writting code that will allow user to enter a score and the program returns a grade based on the score entered. I can get it to work using "IF" statements but want to use code for ranges. My "IF" code is as follows.......

I am writing a noughts and crosses game and I want to be able to keep score everytime each character wins a game, I have written a sub routine to handle this but it seems to count up in 5's and 10's??I have used a global variable like this Dim i As Integer = 1 then declaired that variable in my sub like this i += 1 (I thaught that this would just add 1 everytime X won a game)then used the variable i to add the score to the label control that keeps the score for the character X.My question is, am I using the correct syntax (+=) for the variable.
Program : my game is a frogger port, you make the frog cross the road until you run out of lives. When you die, you are asked to enter your name and the name is appended to the end of file called names.txt, the final score is appended to the end of a file called scores.txt.Using the System.IO functions, i read the contents of each text file, and load the contents into two separate strings (one for names, one for scores. These two long strings are then broken down using Split() command, transferring the pieces into an array. (again 2 arrays - one for names, one for scores). The contents of both arrays are then loaded into 2 listboxes, 1 for scores, 1 for names.
Problem: i can sucessfully load the contents of both files, and display them side by side - but i want to re-arrange the scores so that they are in descending order. While doing this, i need to make sure that the player name matches up with the score - so the order of the names being displayed would have to be changed aswell. After spending many, many hours trying to do it myself i have had to give up - i'm clueless. My first issue is converting the score array into integers so that the array could be sorted, the second problem is then sorting the names so that the scores and names match up.
Private Sub PrintDocument1_PrintPage(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Drawing.Printing.PrintPageEventArgs) Handles PrintDocument1.PrintPage 'e.Graphics.DrawString(RichTextBox1.Text, New Font("Arial", 10, FontStyle.Regular), Brushes.Black, 200, 200)[code]....
So etc. we want a label1 etc. to be the money in this game, and i know how to save one thing. But arent there a way to save everything in one code? So that you are available to load the game, and continue every time..
i am working on Scrollable form, when i am trying to print this form with PrintForm object its printing only the showing part not all the form this the code which am using.Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click Me.PrintForm1.Print(Me, PowerPacks.Printing.PrintForm.PrintOption.Scrollable) End Sub
Currently I am saving data from my applications by saving a text file via a stream reader as a string. I have come to a problem. In my current application, I have an array of the following structure:
i want to save a finger print file to a sql server table and then i also wanted to read it when you tap the finger print reader and it will input a time in :)
Its a League Organizer, basicly ive started it off with 16 teams and end up with 1(winner) 16 box's on the far left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1. the 16 box's have "Team 1" "Team 2" etc... ive put a new/clear/open/save button in that order.
BUT this is my problem..when i save(Save Button) the text file saves all the text wrong it ends up like this...Team 1Team 2Team 3Team 4 Etc...
But i want it to save like this
Team 1 Team 2 Team 3 Team 4 Etc...
The code is...
Dim Save As New SaveFileDialog Save.Filter = "Text Files (*.txt)|*.txt|ALL FILES (*.*)|*.*"
I am trying to make a notepad type thing that uses tabs. Each tab has a rich text box on (After being added via buttons) but am really unable to find a way to get the print preview to preview a certain, single text box on tabs. And obviously i can't add them manually (that i know) as loads of new tabs can be added at any time by the user.
I'm making a simple little program. It's going to save the image in the clipboard (from pressing Print Screen) to the folder that the .exe is in. My problem is trying to find out how to save the image file with a user-specified name, such as "Image", then adding numbers to it. So it would be like Image_00001, Image_00002, etc. I would like to make the name be specified using a textbox (pretty easy). I know how to get it to save as different image formats and all, and I know how to get it to save as a hardcoded name in a hardcoded location, but that it isn't what I'm aiming for. If you've ever used the screenshot function of Fraps or MSI Afterburner, then that's basically what I'm trying to make here.
I've already searched these forums and did some Googling, but couldn't find anything that I was looking for. Not even a sample program with something like this. I found something in the CodeBank, but it's all the stuff I've already gotten implemented.
find items, they get added to your inventory. But the problem is is that what you have say like 3 items in your inventory, and you close the application, all the items will go away because there's no way to save. So how would I make like the program to where it saves like a .DLL file (preferably .DLL not .TXT so users cant edit easy)? Is there a way to do this like maybe when they get an item, it
Have been trying this out for sometime with no success. I want to be able to use pdf printing application like pdfprinter to print my vb reports to and then save the reports to a particular location on my computer.
